I am continually amazed at the level of brainwashing of Black Americans. Most science confirms that weight is genetically pre-determined and not a character flaw. Does anyone seem to notice that the skinny people at the job can eat all kinds of fast food all day every day and never gain weight and then the heavier people eat the same thing and gain 5 pounds in a week? I see it at my job all the time. I am a size 14 and work out 3-4 times a week and eat a low fat diet. I do not have diabetes or high blood pressure and in fact in optimal health. Studies have shown that most folks who are thin are genetically determined to be that way. Black women are traditionally heavier then women of other races because we have higher levels of estrogen in our bodies which aslo effects body weight. Estrogen is the same hormone that keeps our bones from breaking and our face from wrinkling in old age. Diabetes and heart disease are also genetic diseases that are passed down in families, but every person of larger size does not automatically develop these conditions. As a healthy full-figured woman that does take care of her self and has for years, it is upsurd to see these things said in the community which has no basis in scientific fact but another way to make people buy into an idea that has been debunked for quite some time but because it makes someone a chunk of change we all believe it. I am not saying that there are not people that overeat or people who are morbidly obese (which is actually a mental disoder) but to lump everyone in the same category is like saying we all look alike or all black men are in jail. For more info read the book “Rethinking Thin,” that’s if anyone reads anymore these days.

Also, I have a friend who started lifting weights because she was thin, genetically REALLY thin, and she wanted to bulk up…her frame, muscular and feminine, looks “voluptuous” now …

So, you can create any frame you want… my upper body is gaunt…my shoulder, arms, chest…and so I started lifting several years ago to give myself a bit of bulk up top, creating more of an hour glass shape…

So, yeah…a woman has many recourses…

but my theory on cow’s milk is that it’s for baby cows and not humans! we are the only creatures who drink milk from another species. goats drink goat milk! cow’s drink cow’s milk!

umm, regarding soy milk, you should try unsweetened silk soy milk or the soy extra one. both don’t have heavy tastes. just try it for as least a week and you’ll see…

There are these vegan fruit and granola bars, I forget the name of them but they’re like $4.00 each…they’re really good…A few years ago, I ate them a lot… As a matter of fact, I think Sting or Bono or somebody has some stake in the company…they make juices, too… There’s a website, but I wish I could remember the name… they’re delicious!

Jennifer Hudson told a magazine once she lost 20 pounds for “Dreamgirls”. This current statement basically contradicts that.

The point I am making is, in entertainment, whatever the look calls for, that is what that person will have to fit to get it. Now the self esteem make be great, but if she wants the money, she will lose the weight. That’s Hollywood.

She didn’t lose 20 lbs she gained weight to play Effie. She had lost weight prior to shooting the movie due to health reasons. Everyone has insecurities and her was to lose weight because it’s very superficial and in hollywood they have set ideals. Jennifer is still considered big to many people because she is not really small according to hollywood standards, however she is pulling off very well..shoot Beyonce working in overtime to keep her figure because she almost up there with team chunk..popeyes goes straight to the thighs..lol

For the past few years the Academy has been giving out awards to people that they feel will get people talking the next day. Look what happened when they gave the award to Crash. I liked Crash but in no way was that the best movie of the year when up against movies like Munich or Good Night and Good Luck. Those movies were 50 times better. Its all about the underdog or the movie that is a little different, rather than the most compelling, better acted, or better written. I’m not trying to hate but the truth is the truth. Its like people wanna act like she’s the best at what she does when in reality I doubt we’ll be seeing a lot of her in the future.
