here’s something to ponder….correlation does not equal causation. in other words, correlation between two variables does not imply that one causes the other. it is a logical fallacy to say that because two events occur together that they have a cause-effect relationship. point being, just because statistics may say “most gang members come from single parent households, most street criminals come from single parent households, most teen pregnancies can be traced back to single parent households” and “… The single biggest source for inmates is the single black female” (direct quotes from Its6amHoGetOut and Kigali respectively) does not make true a cause-effect relationship.

i have a scenario for u: let’s put your solution to the test: that women choose quality men to marry then have children with….both parents raise a young man and a young woman. these parents raise their daughter to believe that she must be virtuous, keep her legs closed & her eyes open, all the while teaching the son that he cannot possibly steer away from sex when he gets aroused because that’s not how men think. hmmm…..if this ideal society is full of married men and women who will this young man end up having his uncontrollable sex with? he’ll probably end up raping married women, teenage girls, any female he can get his hands on because according to you, we don’t need to teach men to curb their appetite for promiscuous sex, we only need to teach young women to do so. baloney.

yes, we do have more to lose when we get pregnant out of wedlock, that is why men need to be taught not to take advantage of women…because they will never realize this fact through first-hand experience. on the other hand, in modern society, men do have a lot to lose by getting a woman pregnant & not making efforts to support said-child…the woman will most likely win in a court battle, will get awarded child support, and if the father refuses to pay, his tax refund will be taken, his wages might be garnished, he can be fined, jailed, humiliated, and hung out to dry. his financial freedom will decay. women will get more hand-outs from the government because they are most often the victim. not always, but most often.

on another note, i agree with u in many aspects, but not all. yes, i do believe it starts with women, but it does not end there.

Heres the definition of a babymomma, its not someone who was married then got a divorce or became a widow, its a woman who knowingly didnt use any form of birthcontrol for herself or the father then had a baby, it could be one instance or several. The term “babymomma” is derogatory and we know it, but lets be real here, single women in the hood/ghetto having kids out of wedlock is wrong and it does nothing but add burden to her and the community. Now thats not saying that the father isnt at fault, he is, but if youre not married to that man you really shouldnt be having his kid/kids. so the bigger burden rests on the woman who should have either used protection, been married or kept her legs closed.
