Clearly if we all agree on the single parent issue being the biggest problem affecting our communities…why is it a problem then?

I voted for the Baby Mama culture. We have got to get back to the basics: God and family.

Whenever a culture starts thinking having a baby together is less of a commitment than marriage, something is waaaayyyy wrong.

Because most people are hypocrites. They are quick to judge the chick in church with 3 kids from 3 different men while we are dating our “boo” of 10 years who has 3 kids his damn self and hasn’t even mentioned marriage… all so we can say: “well, at least I HAVE a man.”

Morals is the biggest issue, if people had better morals then the baby mama culture would not be an issue.

Studies have shown that the single parent black family rate has increased 155% since 1960-2006. While the single WHITE PARENT FAMILY RATE HAS INCREASED 229% DURING THE SAME TIME PERIOD! So enough of white society’s “assessement” of black families.

We all know it’s the triflin single mamas and the worthless men who don’t care for their own children!! Not teaching them morals, a work ethic, self-respect. Fifty odd years ago when Black folks were mostly poor and had no jobs or the worst jobs, we still raised our children right. We respected one another and having babies without a strong male presence giving direction was not tolerated. Now by the times these single mothers are thirty, they are bitter, haggard to the bone and abusive to their children. Not having the daddys being a daddy has embittered her and she is exhausted with struggling to live. It is no damn fuke that over 85% of the young black men in prisons were raised without a father.

  • Luella

Exactly. Now watch all the shiftless single mamas who spend all their time clubbing come on here and blame society. Dumb bitches stop having kids with thugs that neither one of you want to take care of after the first year.

bossip finally got a poll daddy account. welcome to 2009!

why wasn’t thug culture on that list?

  • At Last...

The only ones who don’t agree with this are the no good single women having kids they don’t take care of properly.

-LOW EDUCATION/High school drop out rate 50%
    -ABSENT BLACK FATHERS
    -UNPLANNED PARENTHOOD

All lead to poverty, prison, and lack of job opportunities.

Saying that “racism and lack of opportunity” is ridiculous and precisely the problem with the Black community. I am a teacher and I am teaching my students that there ARE opportunities for African Americans to succeed and achieve. Racism does exist, but it does NOT have to inhibit your progress. Barack is president. Come on. We just don’t take advantage of the opportunities that are given to us i.e, a free education. Working in a low-income, Black/Latino environment, I have noticed that most of my students come from single parent homes. They refuse to do their homework, lack intrinsic motivation, and lack critical thinking skills because they refuse to work. My students are brilliant and have so much potential; they just don’t want to work hard. We are doing it to OURSELVES. It is NOT solely racism and lack of opportunity. We need to stop playing the victim and get up and do something with our lives!

    I vote Baby Mama Culture!!!!

I’m tired of people trying to justify why everyone is running around having babies left and right outside of marriage. And for all those dodo’s out there about to come in with that “marriage is an institution made by man” and “spirtual connections” mess, puh-lease!

What is wrong with building a strong family? Do you think MLK would have led a nation of people if he was running around with 3 baby mamas? NO. Do you think Barack would have made it to Prez if Michelle was just his “spiritual partner” and not his wife? Hells NO!

Black people need to get it together and do it the right way, cause apparently all that “you dont need to be married” and “spiritual connections” shit people are spouting is for the birds!

And don’t come in here talking about divorce rates either, cause if Black people don’t get married (since the marriage rate is about 35% since the last census), clearly they not talking about your black ass!

  • Kigali (Is working with a full clip of IDEAS)

    Octavia,

No wonder the black churches are completely useless. What do they stand for? Apparently they dont stand for anything since they are accepting of all kings of wrong. I think we should turn churches into Gyms and Clinics.
