When you are going out check the balance on your card(s). Its embarrassing to go out and try to purchase something or play “Big Willie” and have the machine display show “decline”. Hell I went bailistic in Aldo’s one day when purchasing a pair of boots (that hurt my feet!!) and the salesperson said the transaction didn’t go through and there was a significant amount of (money) credit available and I had checked the balance! Told them to do it again and lo and behold it went through. So Fabo, check yo shit before you try to pay for everyone to have a good damn time on your ass!! If I can’t pay cash then guess what? I aint trying to buy it without knowledge of what is on my card!!

Sometimes banks/credit card companies decline purchases they deem “unusual” for your normal spending habits. It’s happened to me and I had to call the bank’s fraud dept. and verify that I was the one making the purchase. So that might have been what happened.

I had a worse experience, I was out with the family and about 10 others at a restaurant and said that I would pay the check. The bill came to about $370, which I didn’t know at the time. I knew that it was a little high for the ballance available on this particular card, so I excused myself to the restroom and snuck over to the manager and explained to him that I need to pay half cash and half credit to avoid a potential embarrassing situation. He laughed and said been there done that and took my cash and adjusted the bill for my card (whew) Now I just keep my big mouth shut.

In Chicago when your card is declined we yell out, “EMBARRASSED!” He should change his name to not-so-fabu.
