This week, the Hollyweird D-list diss of choice is calling someone “sick”. First, the King of R&B reportedly blasted Superhead on an Atlanta radio station:
“She is a sick, sick, sick, sick person. She needs help. She really needs help. Somebody needs to… clean her clock out.”
Audio of Kim Kardashian hitting up Ray-J’s voicemail has leaked. This is after finding out about Ray-J coming up on the sex tape. She calls Ray-J “sick”. That’s our word for the day for hoes in Hollyweird: sick.

Kim’s attys. got her over five million, or risk a major lawsuit for defamation of character, invasion of privacy and other legal issues. For Vivid, it was a win, win situation. Five million was a mere pittance, considering the monetary windfall that they stood to make with the advent of subsequent dvd sales, internet downloading + auxillary considerations suchas leasing the tape to Hotel pay per view like what Redlight District did with the Paris Hilton Tape.

First I must ask: What struggle did Kim have?
I can judge the respect they have for themselves by their actions. Supahead goes back and forth as well as Kim. Supahead went on Oprah saying how she changed (back when her first book dropped); but continued her foul behavior after that, AND wrote another book about it. Supahead is a mother; why are you still hoing around? Why are you on the radio with a filthy mouth? All her snitching is not cute.
Kim tries to act like she is so upset about a tape of her and her ex having sex being made public but I can go down the list of magazines she has appeared in where she is naked/damn near naked. That’s not the road someone that is upset would take. Why is she is ***** shots in every picture? Why is she always dressing so skimpy? MArquis to be honest Black women are sexist as HELL! and the reality of it is Black women are taught to repress their sexuality, why? because we have been severly over-exploited. When White women were burning bras and defining their own sexuality, Black women were working in White people homes as maids. I’m not a spokeswoman for the sisterhood, but I do think there is a widening divide between sisters and brothers that is hurting our community and many of us as individuals. And it’s not just one issue but many layers, I think.
Kevin, what I see on this site — and I know it is a gosssip blog — is a fundamental lack of respect and understanding. I’ve read brothers refer to sisters as “b*tches” and “hos,” bring up their skin color, weight, etc., and none of that is constructive. And sisters have to stop saying that black men ain’t sh*t because that frame of thought only invites negativity into your life. If you think brothers are bad news, that’s whom you’ll meet, and I learned that the hard way. I’m still very much a work in progress.
And Kim K. has nothing to do with us. Let her live her life.

As a black woman, I sometimes feel that sisters aren’t given an adequate voice. We’re bombarded by stereotypical, misogynistic images — some of which are propogated by our own brothers, which hurts me to no end (I.e. Damon Wayans this week — I know he’s a comedian but why make fun of such a hurtful episode?).

Uh, I think the Damon Wayans thing on the view, was taken out of context. Damon and Joy Behar were kind of riffing off of each other, as most comedians do. From what i understand, that video was just a small snippet. The whole gist of the conversation dealt with PCism and the negative ramifications (if allowed to run amok) will have on freedom of speech and expression in direct relations to stand-up comedy and art in general.

It’s art…And art is subjective…And true art can’t be legislated by something as arbitrary as societal’s perception of good taste…I mean, your generation would be up in arms if they decided to ban rap…And lets’ be honest, we’ve heard worst things on Def Comedy Jam, not only at the expense of white people, but also black people and different ethnicities in general. Racist humor has been one of the main staples of stand-up and the radio shock jock genre. Trust me, if the target audience would’ve responded negatively to that sort of humor, it would’ve died off long ago.

This could be a combination of miscommuinication, *****ing match between the NAACP & Colorofchange and, or M. Bell’s father was under the impression that some of the money was to come to him.
Personally, I think the NAACP is manipulating Bell’s father in hopes of taking the forefront in the Jena Six crusade, considering that Colorofchange has all of their transactions do*****ented, thus, substantiating their umbrage regarding Baisden accusations.

I’m angry and disappointed about the whole matter. Colorofchange.org was one of the primary mobilizers of the Jena rally (I’m on their e-mail list), and they’ve raised tens of thousands of dollars for the legal defense of these young men. Michael Baisden made a horrible, misguided decision to discredit this reputable group and I think the entire movement will pay the price.
Other black bloggers who rallied behind the Jena Six are also up in arms, and I don’t blame them. This is damaging to the credibility of black Americans in general, and if Baisden or Mychal Bell’s father had concerns, they should have been raised behind closed doors, not on national radio.
Now that this has hit the mainstream media, I fear more public scrutiny will follow — which takes the focus off the primary issue, the historical racial disparities in the U.S. Justice system.
For shame.

And I think Baisden should stick to shows on swingers and cheaters. I was never a big fan of his, and I’m certainly not one now. He insulted a lot of hard-working, conscious sisters and brothers who are committed to illuminating issues involving racism and discrimination.
Colorofchange.org was also very active in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, I might add.
BTW, Baisden issued a weak apology yesterday and admitted he received inaccurate information. Why didn’t he check and double-check his facts before he went on the air? The damage has been done.
What happened to the $10,000 donation provided by David Bowie? Did the NAACP allocated to Colorofchange or use it for their own self-promotion?

Bowie’s donations reportedly went to the NAACP (Baisden inaccurately said on-air that it went to Colorofchange.org). That’s all I know about it. If I find out more, I’ll let you know.
I think it’s way to much self righteousness going on in these posts. Kevin was saying something about sexuality being repressed and I can speak volumes on that, but I do not want to.
