In terms, of winning well we only have 11 winners (Denzel Washington, Sidney Poitier, Forest Whitaker, Jamie Foxx, Louis Gossett Jr., Morgan Freeman, Cuba Gooding Jr., Halle Berry, Jennifer Hudson, Whoopi Goldberg & Hattie McDaniel)

viola, on the other hand, had like a 5 minute scene and her acting did not warrant her an oscar nomination

I saw viola talking about her nomination and I have to say, while I believe she is a good actress, my goodness she is hard on the eyes. I don’t care how “dolled” up she is, I don’t think she is pretty, but that’s not what this is about. Congrats to both.

Viola stands a better chance to win OSCAR! She was flawless in DOUBT! Her range and her presence were amazing.
I notice a lot of you don’t understand how this stuff works, perhaps it is because of lack of exposure to the arts and even a simple background in theatre or ENGLISH writing for that matter.

Also you are right, we need to put out better material. Asian movies tend to get nominated not because they are Asian or the stereotypical kung fu movie, but rather well-thought out dramas that have good actors, good writing, great cinematography, a lot of history and culture.

When we adhere to the above formula, we will see more success.
