Queen Beysus (reportedly) scrapped 50 records for her new album and pushed it back to 2014 prompting widespread panic and confusion among the BeyHive. Struggling to find a HIT without the mastermind behind her stardom (Matthew Knowles), we decided to step in and offer a few suggestions to the struggling Pop icon.
Here are eight fresh ideas for the struggling Pop Goddess. Take a look.
Bring timeless R&B/Soul back
Her BEST album (“Dangerously In Love”) dropped 10 years ago (before her evolution into a white woman) and provided the golden musical blueprint for modern R&B that she, herself, has ignored.
Rather than get high off glowstick fluid like Ursher, Chris Brown and every other ex-R&B artist, she should seriously consider making a wildly-funky and energetic Amerie “Touch”-esque album.
Copy & Paste Rihanna’s style
Let’s be real, Rihanna makes better music than Bey Bey and has an impeccable ear for hits. At some point, Bey needs to accept this and follow Rih’s winning formula.
Fun Fact: Rih-Rih has dropped two platinum albums since Beyonce’s last full-length release in 2011.
Re-hire Poppa Knowles as Manager
With Matthew Knowles running her empire, she always seemed to make the right moves at the perfect time which ended when she dropped him.
Pop starlet on tour without any new single or album? Pepsi commercial featuring a single that her label refuses to officially release? A$AP Bey/“Bow Down?” Scrapping of highly-anticipated album? Not on Poppa Knowles watch.
Let go, and let Mike Will
Future + Mike Will Made It saved Ciara from being a high school dance team coach/Zumba instructor and made her pop again with ONE record (“Body Party”). If Bey’s smart (which is…debatable based on her infamous letters), she’ll reach out to both hitmakers. ASAP.
STOP being so SAFE and actually TAKE A CHANCE
There are too many incredible artists/producers in the game to be creatively-lost. TAKE A CHANCE. Do something provocative and different. Collab with Prince, The Roots or Tyler, the Creator. Sky’s the limit.
Swallow her pride and call Keri Hilson
You may despise everything about R&B’s most hated—how she sings, how she breathes, how she tweets—but her pen game is undeniable and could provide something fresh for Beyonce.
Don’t front, you know you liked Keri’s debut album (“In a Perfect World…”)
Dig up Rich Harrison
Before falling off Earth, he was R&B’s go-to producer for funk-splashed JAMS who blessed Bey with her most iconic smash “Crazy In Love.” IF he’s still alive, Bey should find him and scrape together his best tracks.
