Some crazy residents of Reno, Nevada are upset with a billboard of Beyonce in a bikini and claim that it is “ghettoizing” their neighborhood. Via Las Vegas SUN:
“It’s obscene. I have my two little grand kids coming over here, and they don’t need to be seeing that. You can change the channel on the TV, but you can’t change that.”
“If you come out here it now dominates the skyline. It just screams of degradation, it screams of ghettoizing a good neighborhood.”
From the looks of that fence that the old lady is sitting on, that Billboard of Beyonce is not the only thing degrading that town. These people have even gone as far as signing a petition to have the billboard taken down. Maybe they should work on upgrading that fence with a little whitewash first.

She is actually a great example because she has been in a steady relationship since quite a young age. But i take issue with the IMAGE she portrays which is quite frankly not the right message she should be giving to young girls. I am 26 years of age. I realize that my age group of black women is the main age group going along with the ’sex sells’ image. I know this. My mother and my father has raised me to make people see my intelligence and my heart. I try to live up to their expectation cause they raised me right.

She is successful, has an amazing voice, seems to be a pretty good, genuine person, and creates great music. I hope you people will put the mess aside and notice that B’Day is a wonderful album, through and through.
You hate how she completely switched things up and did mostly uptempos. But if she made another album like Dangerously In Love, you’d say “she stays the same. She doesn’t evolve like a good artist. This formula is tired out.”

I don’t see how she could be jacking J.Lo’s style, because Jennifer was just a combination of tons of other women to begin with. Also, I don’t see how she’s jacking Mariah. Third, this whole “jacking Amerie” thing is seriously getting old. Rich Harrison produced the track and he pretty much created the sound with Amerie.

The bottom line is that you guys have to stop this stuff. There is a huge, huge, huge decline in sales of African American’s albums because you people are fickle and are way too critical. You never have nothing nice to say and you never know what you want.
The artists are getting confused. You want Monica to be more street. When she finally does it (and does it very well and genuinely) you people are like “I can’t even relate to her, she’s so black. I want the old Monica.” Well attention: what worked in the 90’s is not going to work now. And if she did that, you would be like “she done sold out to those damn crackers. She went pop on us, man.”
Fantasia did the same because everybody was saying “I wish she would actually be black and stop these karaoke-esque, American Idol showtunes and ballads.” So she gets to her more urban roots, and now “I wish ***** would do a song like “Summertime” again. That was my ish.”
