“Talk to You Later, Buckwheat”

Posted by Bossip Staff

CarlaBlanchardDartez

A state representative in Louisiana is under fire for racist remarks towards the mother of a civil rights leader over the phone:

A state representative in a runoff election infuriated civil rights leaders after she ended a conversation with the mother of the NAACP’s local president by saying, “Talk to you later, Buckwheat.”

State Rep. Carla Blanchard Dartez, of Morgan City, acknowledged she made the remark during a Thursday night telephone conversation with Hazel Boykin to thank her for driving voters to the polls.

Buckwheat, a black child character in the “Little Rascals” comedies of the 1930s and ’40s, is viewed as a racial stereotype demeaning to black people. Hazel Boykin’s son, Jerome, is the NAACP’s president in Terrebonne Parish. She is well-known as a 1960s civil rights activist, helping to desegregate restaurants and the parish school system.

What the hell is wrong with this racist and disrespectful slut? She needs something like a cell phone beating by Naomi Campbell real quick, something real proppa-like.

  7. kdogg

It could have been worse. She could have called her a “typical modern day 2007 stereotype fulfilling minstrel Negro.” No need to use buckwheat’s name to put us down anymore. There are other buffoons that have had way more opportunities than the kid that played buckwheat ever had. Yet, minstreling is still preferred. She could have called her:

    Shawn Wayans

    Marlon Wayans

    a southern rapper

    Any rapper

typical kid trying to emulate a rapper

feel free to add to this list…..

White people are having the worst year ever.

Don Imus, Dog, this chick, Micheal Richards. How in the hell do you thank the woman by saying some ***** like that? She didn’t even try to play the ***** off.

She could have at least gotten creative and said “No, no I was at Subway and I was letting them know I wanted my sandwich on rye or wheat. It was just said after the talk to you later part before I hung up the phone.” Get creative YT.

  13. SMH. I don’t even know what to think because this doesn’t seem malicious but my goodness…

“Buckwheat” should’ve said “OK, I’ll see you on Springer” then hung up.

  28. nahnah

do you know how many racists are saying stuff about blacks on a DAILY basis?

plz people, let people talk! we can’t change their minds about us, so why not focus on cleaning up our neighborhoods instead of huffing and puffing about every single comment we hear a person make! we are giving these people too much power!

  29. nahnah

yeah, well there are a lot of white ***** ups, but white people don’t have to worry about being grouped as one, while blacks have to worry about that ish – racial profiling. so i can understand why every single black person must be all positive and *****, but it’s sorta unrealistic because we too are imperfect human beings!

  30. Hey nahnah–

To be honest–whenever I hear that another remark was made–sadly;I’m no longer phased. It’s not that I accept it–it’s just that either the public is going out of their way to kepp us informed or people are just more blatant about it.

  31. Frisco's Finest:Shauna

This comment or any comment made by these white people do not shock me at all. I am a 27 year old black women, that has experienced racism myself. Not directly like someone calling me a ***** or a nappy headed hoe, but more in terms of not getting a job when I am probably more qualified than than the person interviewing me. This is why it is so important for black people to come together. We have made so much progress, and that scares alot of races. We know who we are as a race and need to embrace it. Lets start loving each other again….say hi or smile to every black person you see. Lets stop hating on each other because obviously we have enough of that already.

  32. *keep–

Off topic but–I cannot understand why the death of Kanye’s mother has me so rattled! It’s not like I personally knew her or anything. I felt the same way when Alliyah and Left Eye was killed.

  33. IBW- Ideal Black Woman

black people getting upset about this ignoramus will only give her more popularity so I say ignore her, her dumb comments, and her dumb state.

  36. Don Imus, Michael Richards, DOG now her…mann, I wonder who’s next, it’s like they’re taking turns…

I can’t even get upset anymore, we have bigger fish to fry!!

    Frisco’s Finest:Shauna…I agree!

  37. Why would she even think that would be funny? She’s obviously comfortable saying it. I’m sure that’s not the first black person she’s said something like that to, I bet the others were too ignorant to realize they were being made fun of and just laughed it off.

    Sad

  38. Whatchaknoaboutdat?

    she can also me emailed…

  39. Carla Blanchard Dartez

I’m sorry that you people have the wrong impression of me. I am not a racist but I know how to snap when someone snaps at me. Im hip i’m down, I gots my “In Living Color” certification. I can snap snap snap in z formation with the best of you doubledutchers.

Anyway she deserved it. She called me a George Bush wannabe.

  40. Janelle

I say let them be ignorant on their own. We should focus on empowering our communities…ignore the ignorance and boycott

  41. BETTYEJ

Let’s get real here. I will not call her a Lady, because I can tell she has no cl*****. But what black people need to take note of, the fact that she is a Democrat, who has no business holding any type of office.

These racist people feet need to be help to the fire where these name calling will be stopped in their tracks.

When you give a hate monger a inch, they will take a mile. The way to really hurt these type peoples are with money. If everyone black from Louisiana and throughout the United States boycotted the State and their products, something would be done. This is now the perfect time.

We spend a lot of money during the holidays, and you know where you shop, they have all kind of racist who have a nasty attitude, just waiting for you money.

Don’t buy! This is the time to ban together and teach our children about Unity and RESPECT! We need to show these cruel and rude people, that we expect to be treated decent, and will not stand nothing less.

We buy to much stuff we don’t need in the first place. Let’s show them that if our race learns one thing during slavery, it is to make do with what you have. Teach your children about MONEY! Start them a saving account. I don’t care if you are rich , save for that raining day. You want GAS prices to go down? Stop buying Gas unless you really need it!

And for all of you smart women, why would you vote to put another lying Clinton back in the White House? They are the two most racist people on the planet and have already lied twice to get in!

“IF YOU STAND FOR NOTHING, YOU WILL FALL FOR ANYTHING”!

  42. Sugabear906

This is why I am not loyal to Democrats or Republicans both of them have done black people dirty. Exspecially during slavery and reconstruction, people tend to forget that the Dem party was controlled by confederates who wanted slavery.

  43. nonya

I say we all call her office and talk buckwheat and see what the bish says!

  44. Sim1

Is it me or are these people seriously OUT OF POCKET these days? Damn! They’ve always felt this way I’m sure, but for some reason they are feeling more and more comfortable about vocalizing the *****. All I can say is WOW. The funny thing is, its people in positions of power with lots to lose–and they still can’t manage to hold their tongue. Is the hatred that deep? Man…*****. WOW.

  45. A Black Man1

I agree with Frisco’s finest: Shauna totally and conclusively (did i spell that right) I am experiencing a ton of racism in trying to get a job. got 3 college degrees and everything but in the white world it doesn’t mean nothing. white people will still hire any race of people except blacks. They are always trying to keep their feet on black people’s necks. Black people need to start loving themseleves and each other. We are all we got.

p.s Anything white people do does not surprise me! she was propably smoking meth when she said that *****. Just look at this funny looking ***** skinny white *****!

  46. Amani

@Sim1 I agree with you 100% and people wonder why were so dam divided now.

  47. nahnah

omg, when aaliyah died, i was in tears for days! even today i can’t believe she p*****ed!

and when left eye p*****ed, i couldn’t sleep!

the same goes for a litle girl (13 years old) who p*****ed several years ago. she was in my sister’s cl***** and only a week from graduating from junior high school! man, i couldn’t stop crying. i was sad and depressed, and i didn’t even know her. but the fact that she was an honor student who lost her life so suddenly just got to me.

oh, and let’s not forget the 12 years old haitian boy who was found dead in his closet (he hung himself) by his 6 years old sister. apparently, he was a recent immigrant who was constantly teased by his peers because he had an accent and he didn’t dress ‘cool’. the kids who were responsible for teasing him could not stop crying. man, that boy took his life and still today it makes my head hurt!

life can be pretty tuff, so be thankful for what you have and ignore people like that woman up there! life’s too short, people!

  48. BETTYEJ

Naomi Campbell hit her maid a couple of times with her cell phone for stealing her clothes and had to clean the streets of New York! Russell Crowe hit two people with his house phone and is now in the Movie with Denzel Washington.

Britney is using her panty less behind as a poster board and it looks like “Girl’s gone wild” had her in mind when they came up with the concept. Drives without a licence and don’t even bother to take her mandatory drug tests. What law has she not broke, and always on camera!

Lindsay had drugs on her and has also broken every law in the book like her side kick Paris.

All three of these twisted *****es might as well had told the law to go fu@k it’s self!

Wake up people! *****ody is above the LAW!

  49. Dee

Here is this representative’s email address: larep51@legis.state.la.us

and here is the link to her personal webpage:

    http://house.louisiana.gov/H_Reps/members.asp?ID=51

Let’s flood her inbox and let her know how we really feel!!!

  50. Sim1

Its crazy, because today at work this Caucasian girl got really out of pocket with me and I KNOW that she would not have had the nerve to speak to me in the manner she did if I were white. I am a Director at my company and I know that she would NEVER speak to one of the other white Directors the same way. My first instinct was to put her ***** on blast. Instead, I went to her direct supervisor and made them call her young ***** into the office, where I told her point blank that she was “defensive, rude, and unprofessional, and that I would not tolerate her speaking to me in such a manner”. She turned all red and apologized profusely. Now her ***** is all shook because its do*****ented and on file.

When white people come out the gate like that you have to get them where it hurts. Cussin and threatening to knock them the ***** out is counterproductive (though I’m sure if feels great!) That kind of behavior only validates what they think about us. My point is that we really need to boycott the state of Louisiana, and flood this woman with emails about her conduct.

  51. Amani

@Black Man1 I can relate and feel your frustration, I feel the same way.

  52. nahnah

To be honest–whenever I hear that another remark was made–sadly;I’m no longer phased. It’s not that I accept it–it’s just that either the public is going out of their way to kepp us informed or people are just more blatant about it.

    _____

well, considering the fact that racism is a tool to divide and conquer, i’ll have to go with the former. in other words, i think they want to keep us informed so we can lose focus on what’s important.

  53. Marquis de Sade

Well gee, I guess my timing was most fortuitous when I decided to change my username from Buckwheat to Marquis de Sade…Considering Carla Blanchard Dartez faux pas, me posting my outrage would’ve been downright awkward. LOL.

  54. Serious Sister

@nahnah, I feel you, everyone remember we are in an election cycle, this is intended to keep us from the polls and feel disgust in all states.

It has been historically proven during an election cycle, racism and racist slanders are always at their highest, and with Barack running, it will get worse before it gets better.

  55. Amani

@Sim1 You did the right thing and was professional about it.

  56. ???

I live in Louisiana & racism is alive. White people are like, um….unexplainable. I just think some of them just don’t get it. They like really think that all black people dance, talk loud, listen to rap music, and listen to them.

I was @ work one day and my co-workers were talking about a town event and I asked them, So what goes on @ the event? And they said, “Oh, u probably won’t like the event, because only Contry musicians will be perfroming? I did’nt ask them that. They are just ignorant.

I think that even though white people want to be like us, when they imitate black stereotypes, it’s okay, or a phase, but when we do anything that is considered “black” it’s like they say, “I knew it”. Don’t stop doing anything u like to do, embrace our culture. If we stop, they will make a culture for us. And guess what? Racism, dicrimination, and oppression are practiced world wide, somehow “hidden” in someways. Please talk to everyone u know about these issues, if they arise. Don’t back down!!!!!!! I got off of the subject, but I hope this lady loses, but in that city, she probably will win. Even w/ the national attention.

I am somehow ashamed to say I am a citizen of Louisiana, with all of the negative media in the past 2 years, but I am proud to say I am black and that these racist issues are being brought to light. And hopefully, these issues will shine worldly, and not overlooked!

  57. Sim1

Thanks Amani. Today has been one of those days. :)

  58. Amani

I understand we all have days like that.

  59. Serious Sister

    @Sim1,

Much props, that’s what I’m talking about, as a black business owner, with white employees, I have had my share of the same mess, mainly due to hating, I can’t help you did not handle yours, that was very cl*****y.

  60. Shay

Does she plan on explaining why she called her “buckwheat”.

  61. denne

what the hell kind of thank you is that?

  62. Msbioed

White people not having a bad year its our *****es. See one of these *****s has gotten away with it and now all of em coming out the closet with their lil racist remarks. Now I’m no Black Panther or anything but this stuff has to stop. We’re partially to blame for this new “epidemic” these crackers are having. All this “***** that, my ***** this, what up *****”–if we do it they’re gonna start feeling like what the hell they say it. You know it’s getting bad when you got em saying they thought they were cool/down enough in our community to say this….like WTF???

  63. TRINIDADIAN TANKABEAN TABANKA

White folks are testing the waters. They are trying to see how much they can get away with.

Think about it.. After the Civil Right, what happened to the MAJORITY of the white racists? Remember the majority of places like Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and those other likeminded states were strongly opposed to disegregation. THOSE PEOPLE didn’t just accept it and became tolerant; they instilled that same hatred in their KIDS!

Of course not all whites are racist, and to be fair, many have really wanted change and to distance themselves from this vulgarity that is racism.

But the sad part is that there is this large amount that are determined to be dumb!

This loser frigid Ho better check to see if her husband ain’t bangin a buckwheat! The most racists are usually the ones with the black kid in the closet!

Here are more names to add to your insightful list:

  67. hotgal 07'

Hold-up why in the hell black folks are so dam sensitive? When did Buckwheat become a put down towards black people? That is who we are naturally knodded up hair and big lips…not lace front weave wearing heffas that have a Ms. Clairol deal and bleach their *****in skin!!! It’s seems like a joke to me but white people can’t make jokes without it blowing way out of context… Don’t get me wrong it’s wrong to say ***** the way Kramer did but what about back in the 60s when white folks was saying it as everyday language? *****ody wasn’t saying ***** then!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  68. Bronx Brawler

Wake up these craKKKas are going back to pre-civil rights era. They’re very blatant with it once again.

  69. hello

Maybe we are too sensitive? This woman is single now! I saw her profile on millionaire dating site WealthyRomance.com last week! What happened to her marriage?

  70. Funny As Hell

Buckwheat? Alright lady! That is hilarious! Everybody is sick of these whiny blacks!

  71. John

Here we go again! Now some dumb azz is going to say that this is not a racist remark and blacks should just ignore. This is what Mr & Mrs YT want. They want us to ignore it and before long we’ll be sweeping their floors again!!!

  72. hotgal 07'

Why Buckwheat has to be racist suddenly if she was really racist she should have said ***** ain’t ***** gonna happen to her because she is a woman and white and don’t ***** happen to white women

  73. JPEEZY

THEY’re showing their tru colors now more than ever. They don’t even try to hide the ***** no more. In the 90s it was…”i’m not racist, i’ve had 3 black people over my house.” now it’s either “***** it, i’m racist” or “i thought i was black too.” It’s getting outta hand.

  74. me

@hotgal…How old are you, exactly? Are you serious? Anyone with any common sense knows that calling someone Buckwheat is a racial insult. Buckwheat, although a television character, was the epitome of a ***** in white people’s mind back in the day.

Regardless, at the end of a professional conversation, it was inappropriate for the rep to call this woman, or anyone else for that matter, anything but their government name. I mean, really? Who does that?

Even if she had called the lady SpongeBob, or Dora the Explorer, it would still be inappropriate. Get real!!

  75. tq

WTF? That is some stupid *****.

  76. NubianGoddez

LMBAO @kdogg She could have called her:

Broncos RB Travis Henry (nine children with nine women)yt is funny but it’s in their nature ya’ll we need to quit being surprised at yt’s *****ery its never ending, you just look at him like that poor retarded child and SYH (shake your head)poor thang

  79. reply

    WHAT, OMG, FOR REAL….

So *****ing what… it dont take much to to get y’all mad.

I think i’m gona start blogging about black people saying bad thing about whites people, the only problem is that i might have to quit my job to blog full time!!!

When y’all get so mad about ***** like this, you only add fuel to the fire! The bigger the fuel tank, the bigger the fire. Its that simple.

  80. Dee

@Sim1–Good for you for handling your business the proper way and getting the right results! That’s a lesson for all of us on how to handle situations that can be frustrating. Do it above board and those who are that ignorant toward us will get shook and feel stupid and ashamed every time.

  81. reply

What i’m saying is just ignore ***** like this and go one with your life.

  82. David

“What the hell is wrong with this racist and disrespectful *****?”

I agree that racism is alive and well in America but what gives you the right to disrespect this woman by calling her a *****. The Bible tells us to love our enemies and do good to those who despitefully use us. Its wrong for Imus to disrespect black women but its O.K. for you to call this woman a *****? You condemn rappers for disrespecting black women but its O.K. for you to disrespect this woman because she’s white?

“Until we are all without sin let’s stop the pulpit’n” – JAY Z

  83. OMG…wth…I can’t even understand where that came from?

i’m like hysterically laughing over here…not because its funny…but because…i don’t even know.

    WHO says that? and why????

Honestly I think it makes her look stupid. Give her a big fat NEXXXT!

  84. Talk to you later, Buckwheat.

  85. pimp daddy

  86. I will be ending all of my conversations with that interesting phrase today. No lie! I’ve already begun!

    lol

  87. Just Sit And Be Pretty

    Nothing they say surprises me…

  88. andie

it wasn’t what she said, it was the intent of how she said it and the cultural context that exists behind “buckwheat.”

  89. Bianca Vellaroz

    im shocked! NOT

white people are startin to get real brave nowadays with all the nooses being hung in various places, racial comments, black face parties…do we need to have another black panther movement? cus yall know huey, bobby and them others had them crackers scared back in da day! lmao

p.s. she needs botox anyways..ole crow feets w*****

  90. Tazerah Maekelle

i don’t know what to say .. it is offensive and all your christian white lovers that keep saying ‘we’re too sensative/turn the other cheek/let go let god’ all that crap, yeah, that’s not helping our cause as a black race!! statements like these need to be checked EACH AND EVERYTIME they are used and there must be some clear message sent to make a statement that we can not be treated and spoken to any which kind of way! years back when i worked as a waitress i had this really funky afro going [with highlights, too cute] so, 70 of the white men would just come up to me and say ‘damn, you are gorgeous, i love your style’ but this one drunk racist *****hole said ‘listen buckwheat get us a good table and start a tab and i’ll make sure you get a good tip’ – needless to say, after i told one of the managers [white by the way but loved him some sistahs] not only did they escort him and his crew out, they banned them FOR LIFE and stated OUT LOUD that this isn’t that type of establishment and that their stinking dollars were useless there! i had the privalage of having a public apology and clearing the way for them to be escorted out! so, they need to be stopped each and every time and it’s up to strong [not spineless] blacks to do it! the mother did an excellent thing by bringing it up as soon as it happened and i’m sure when it’s time for elections, she’ll be home thinking about not ever watching the little rascals again .. they mean hate and we have to check them! :)

  91. They call us their *****s and buckwheats, but those were characters. We are not their *****s. We are not their buckwheats. We are mighty mighty people of the sun, black kings and queens, nubian gods and goddesses. Responding with insults to this so called ‘lady’ is a waste of time on my part..

  92. datdude

COULDN’T AGREE WITH you more more! they know what they’re doing and they mean every word of it .. but nah, you still gonna have those n*ggas thats supporting them and playing like it aint’ a big deal – dumb a*s sellouts

  93. kdogg

Anyone here thought the movie white chicks was funny?

Anyone think that the terms “Bugs Monkey” or Joe Camel in reference to 50 and Jay-Z is funny?

I’m not supporting what this lady said at all but, some of you complainers are the same ones that were throwing around that, “he who is without sin cast the first stone” scripture. If you never come at someone with a foul comment then feel free to villify this woman. Most of us, me included, have said much worse. That doesn’t make it right, but it does put it in perspective. A lot of people on here are like, “I wish she would have said that to me.” What would you have done? Maybe her words were in retaliation, too. Hypocrisy is contagious.

  94. John McCue

Of course her hubby is probably sleeping with a buckwheat of his own giving him backshots and all. I’m sure it stems from same hate with black women. Oh well, it will never end. the hate and racism, I guess. The only good thing that can come out of this is that she loses her campaign and a stiff lesson will be learned never to play with blacks again. More than anything, hopefully someone in her family is truly ashamed and wants nothing to do with her after learning of these statements. That would wake her up really good. Oh well, they are getting more brazen each day it’s ridiculous. It’s not even funny so I won’t dignify it any longer with an additional thought.

  95. kdogg

Anyone ever call a nerdy white boy “Opie”?

You ever use the term White Trash.

Even the term “Valley girl” is a stereotype.

Is there more negative history with buckwheat? Yeah. However that doesnt make it right each way.

We are so focused on what white people are saying about us when the worse things that I have ever had said or done to me came from my own people. As a black man, the statistics prove my point.

  96. kdogg

White person trashes white person(We dont care)

Black person trashes black person(We dont care)

Black person trashes white person(We dont care, its comedy.)

Black rappers trash the entire black culture(We dont care its just entertainment)

White person ends argument with a black person with a sterotypical slur(We are up in arms and ready to fight)

  97. V

MY BLACK PEOPLE. THESE RACIST WHITES ARE SOOOO THREATEN BY OUR ABILTY TO ACHIEVE NO MATTER HOW MUCH THEY TRY AND KEEP US DOWN. THAT’S WHY THEY TRY TO DEGRADE US SO OFTEN.

REMEMBER BACK IN THE DAY IF A BLACK MAN SPOKE TO A WHITE WOMAN HE WOULD HAVE BEEN LINCHED? NOW THE WHITE WOMAN CAN’T KEEP THEIR HANDS OFF OF OUR BLACK MEN….CALL IT CARMA

  98. kmonkey

1 True Diva and Melissa…me too! I am truly HURT behind the death of Dr. West! And I can’t figure it out. I think its because we all know how close he was to his mom and I’m really close with my mom so its like I can only imagine what he’s going through. I almost cried behind this. My prayers are with their family.

  99. Velle

    Soooooo what who cares!

  100. Anonymous3

    @Kdogg

it’s not that we don’t care if one white trashes another or one black trashes another…it depends on the content of the trash talking as far as I am concerned…..but let’s not play ignorant…if a white person in a position of leadership or power or has a m***** following be it the airwaves says something derrogatory about us, yes we are going to be up in arms….if she said something derogatory about a Jew, you best believe the Jews would be up and arms…why are we not allowed to be upset….

  101. nahnah

i do not refer to white people as white trash, cracker, honkey…

  102. Shawn08

I sure would like to see Oprah do a show on this comment. I guess we brought this on ourselves too???…

  103. dani

Racism is having the best year ever!..It doesn’t matter; that woman is just ignorant into not knowing that “buckwheat” can be used as a negative connotation and sterotypical meaning used towards blacks..however getting mad and upset over this woman’s ignonorance isn’t going to change anything..because she will continnue to think that way until she has a breakthough..I’m taking this as a grain of salt because I simply don’t care no more..ignorance people are ignorant people

  104. CrazyCracker

For the record… I’m white, and I’ve never called any black person Buckwheat. Now I am guilty of saying “Otay Buttwheat” when Eddie Murphy did the SNL skit, but that makes me retarded for other reasons.

  105. theres a *****er o here who posts as buckwheat, she was probably talking to him. who the ***** would name themselves buck wheat but a effing idiot.

  106. Mahogany

This is the song that doesn’t end unfortunately.

Her intent was malicious being that the lady was an activist of Civil rights and her son is on the board in the state; she knew what she was doing.

And I agree w/ Shaunie way up top.

Racism is tiring of being subtle and it’s gonna get more blatant.

I can’t walk down the hall w/o some yt trying to run me over because they expect ME to move!

Needless to say, I brace my tiny shoulder so I can knock somebody’s ***** out of place.

    :)

  107. Mahogany

Oh, razz he’s up there too!

    Under another alias of his.

  108. It'sREALLYme

LOL… NOT a cell phone beating by Naomi… LMBO!!!

  109. yeah crazy cracker you say you never said buckwheat, but i bet you ten to one your azz has said the n word.what you say in your home is your business just dont let me hear you say it to my face. then a can of whoop azz will be opened. you white people kill me always using the n word and then apologizing, you even are so low dowen to say well blacks use it, when the ***** do you think you can say what a black person says to each otner. you cant be that stupid and when blacks say it it is not degrading or racist, they say it like oh dog see ya later or ***** please, which they sholdnt say it either but it damn sure doesnt mean the degrading form as a white saying it. how would you like me to say whats up cracker, or whats uo honkey, me being black. you whites are just making excuses you cant be dumb enough to think it is ok to say the n word. too much *****ing pain and hanging and killing of blacks with that word behind it. my ancesters and all blacks ancesters were killed and called the n wordand i would never ever ever sell out to be with a white. but the name calling needs to seize.

  110. hey

but why did she even say that? was it even in context? they’re having a conversation about increasing voter turnout then she just decided to end it with “see you later, BUCKWHEAT.” wth!? that’s like if i were having a conversation with some white female activist about some really important issues, then all of a sudden i just ended the conversation with “see you later, Paris Hilton.” again, wth!? as if black people are not even humans with individual thoughts, feelings, and lives. instead we can all just be summed up by grotesque caricatures that were created by white people to begin with.

  111. @ mahoghany> i know i have read his posts and they are so much a white person posing as black, thats why i dont even read his long dragged out stories of putting blacks down and posing under buck wheat. he got mad on a nothe rpost because someone name cuti pie cussed his ***** out and left. and i damn sure didnt blame her because he was so damn ridiculous, no real black person could have that much hatred against his own race unless he was a white posing as black. he didnt fool me at all thats why i wouldnt talk back and forth with this person.

  112. kdogg

    @Anonymous3

We have every right to be upset. I am not excusing this woman. I just think that we get more upset over what whites say about us than what our own says about us.

I could care less about how the Jews would react in this situation. I’m not Jewish.

  113. moxpoe1

it’s going to be interesting to see how this will play out for the State of Louisana. Whether or not Black leaders get involved….it’s still will be interesting to see how Louisana chooses to represent themselves.

  114. nono

    will it ever stop? NOPE!

  115. Zzzz

She probably has some kind of mental disorder that makes you blurt out socially inapropriate and offensive words when speaking. They exist and if you are a politician and you have that problem you should find a new job.

  116. ImMeToo

You know, I read this article and thought, “What an *****hole that woman is.” Then I started reading some of the comments.

For example: “she’s white what can you expect????”

Then I thought to myself, “Hmmm. Many of these comments are not going a long way to elicit sympathy from me.” Mostly because I am white and don’t call black people stupid names, but mainly because half of these comments are as racist as the moron in the article. Yes, I am admitting to you that I had the urge to think “look at this $h!t… they bring it on themselves” and slam the page closed. But stay with me.

I then thought for a minute and said to myself, “Now *I’m* just being stupid too.” Instead of getting mad and closing up the page, I decided to finish reading the comments. Indeed, as with any random internet forum, I found a reasonable number of them intelligent and a reasonable number of them retarded. Why wouldn’t I.

But yes, I had to STOP and THINK for a minute. I think there are very few people out there who can honestly say they don’t get mad enough sometimes to just jump to dumb conclusions. Was I thinking at the time how much better “my people” are then “your people”? No. I made a stupid snap judgement based on other stupid snap judgements likely based on more stupid snap judgements.

The reason racism is getting more and more blatant is because we all seem to be going out of our way to insist that “the other side” is the one being racist. And in doing so, we’re all being stupid and racist. Congrats. We’re all equally stupid. At least that’s a start.

And it’s going to escalate unless we all stop getting so mad when ignorant idiots who probably aren’t even truly that hateful go reaching for the most offensive comment they can find out of simple anger. We are letting them turn all of us into ignorant idiots. I wish we could just stop this tidal wave and reverse it. Why is anger so much more contageous than love?

  117. Bella

    I thought that was funny!

I can’t help but laugh at ignorant White people. They can’t help it. That type of ignorance is a MENTAL DEFECT. Don’t be mad, PITY THEM. LOL!!

  118. I LIKE HER ALREADY!

SHE REPRESENTS HOW WHITE PEOPLE REALLY FEEL. WOULD YOU RATHER YOUR ATTACKER HAVE A BOUQUET OF ROSES AND AN APPLE…

…OR A KNIFE SO YOU SEE THEM COMING???

    Do the math.

    @Inmetoo

Good comment great points. Few will hear, appreciate, or understand what you are saying. The evils of racism and ignorance do not discriminate believe it or not. Those evils are equal opportunists. Ever ethnicity, nationality, and gender has these two evils. We, the people, apply the discrimination aspect to the equation.

Regrettable things are said in anger all the time. Its never acceptable, whether it was truly meant, or not.

  121. dani

    @hey

that’s what I thought as well..I wonder what context did she use it in..however she has learn that what is fine to say to that woman..might not be okay to say to out loud of the entire black race. That where her ignorance lies at..no matter what context..she might be very close to the woman and that was an inside joke..however we as black don’t know that..so she has to be careful and she was ignorant of not being culturally sensitive..I’ve made stereotypical jokes amongest my friends of the opposite race..because I think stereotypes are for idiots..so we make fun of them..however there are people that are emotional about it.so I know not to say it out loud out of respect.

  122. dani

@ Kdogg thank you for your insighful comment..we as people are keeping racism relevant..come on now we are generalizing all white people as being evil and that’s not true..I make fun of stereotypes because they are ignorant and ignorance should be taken as a grain of salt and should be laughed at. Black people always claim to be the victim of racism but sometimes some of use blacks can be to by generalizing all white people as being evil and ignotant. We think it’s okay to make fun of other races but when it comes to ourselves we want to fight..lol..there is no exception to ignorance of any race..I didn’t take this woman’s comment as an offense however, she should’ve been more culturally sensitive.

  123. AND...

What is everybody so mad about?? Y’all know just like I know that there is more to the story than what is being posted here. Chilax and wait until all the story comes out, i.e. everybody wanna go march for Michael Bail (Jena 6 boy) when he was on probabtion when he got into that fight and now they online thugn’ with hundreds in their mouth. Just wait a minute and get some more facts.

  124. Anonymous3

I am sooo glad that we have forums where we can all voice our view point…..

@ Inmetoo…I found one comment you made interesting….and this is simply an observation…you came onto a predominantly or so I *****ume Black blog…and stated the following

Then I thought to myself, “Hmmm. Many of these comments are not going a long way to elicit sympathy from me”

I wanted to know when did anyone on this thread, Black, White whatever solicit your sympathy….this subject in particular is about a white women who made an ignorant comment…for whatever reason…am I surprised….not really….is it something that I haven’t heard before…no….and I don’t think that it was posted to garner the sympathy of any white bloggers….I do agree however that comments like “surprise” or “what do you expect, she’s white” don’t really hold water……a Black person could have easily made the same comment to the same Black Woman and it not hold as much weight….maybe it has something to do with the fact that we are still functioning under a slave mentality….we can do harm to one another (Blacks) and not blink an eye but once a white person is worked into the equation it is all out war….maybe the anger on this thread is misdirected at entire race than the “lady” who made the comment..there will always be people who say stupid things…maybe we should stop looking at the past as a way to focus our anger during the present…we as a people (Blacks) will continue to be held down if we continue to let comments made by a white peson affect us…what we are then saying is that they have power over us…sticks and stones people..

  125. Bella

  127. catapillar

there is just something sketchy about this whole story. I know Louisiana has it own special racial dynamic, but there is truly no logic in this story. What, did Hazel say, “Bye – and, Brittney, remember to keep your drawers on”, prompting the woman’s response? I mean, this call was supposed to be to thank Hazel for doing something! SMH, for scratching my head.

That being said, which is worse: a Naomi cell phone beatdown or Foxy Blackberry clockin’ ?

  128. JillyBean819

    kdogg said:

“It could have been worse.

    Any rapper

typical kid trying to emulate a rapper

feel free to add to this list…..”

Funniest/Most True comment I’ve seen all day!!

  129. Rocky

Ha Ha Ha that is a good one! Buckwheat? I’ll tell you what. She’s my hero. She’s right up there with Michael Richards. Tell it like it is. Don’t take any ***** from these people! Everyone is fed up!

  130. that why i would never date out of my race, just to give a whitey the pleasure of what black people have. you black men need to wake up and stop uplifting these w*****s of white women and up raise your own women. you have black aunts black sisters and black mother so i know you find a black woman to praise instead of that stank kim k and all those stanks like kendra wilkinson. i say ***** all white people on their sites they say ***** all you monkey *****s and all kind of crap. glorify your own people.

  131. Sun Goddess

The one thing I miss about this story is, what exactly provoked Carla Dartez to say this inflammatory statement? someone please enlighten me to that. Thank you.

  132. ImMeToo

“I wanted to know when did anyone on this thread, Black, White whatever solicit your sympathy”

they didn’t. it’s not about acting with dignity to please one random person.

  133. ImMeToo

(it was about all of us acting with dignity in the name of love instead of acting stupid to perpetuate hate.)

  134. OH HELL NAW, ***** NEEDS TO BE CUT WITH A RUSTY SHANK…..

TALK TO YOU LATER MRS. PALE FACE!!!!!

  135. Sim1

Have you noticed that Bossip will often post a story but rarely does follow up. Now if its about T.I. or some other nonsense they are all over it. But ***** that people really need don’t bother following up for their readers. They really need to step up their game. Here is the latest about this incident..a statement from this racist woman:

“I made an insensitive comment when speaking with Hazel Boykin, and I have apologized to the Boykin family and publicly for my choice of words,” Dartez said in a statement. “I have a strong record of fighting for issues important to the African American community; in fact, I have a 93 percent voting record with the Black Caucus.” (NOT ANYMORE *****!)

But the “Buckwheat” remark is the latest bit of trouble for Dartez and her husband, Lenny, who is a member of the Democratic Party’s State Central Committee.

Before qualifying in September, Carla Dartez was given a summons for improper lane usage after hitting a pedestrian with her vehicle. She failed a field sobriety test but p*****ed a later Breathalyzer test.

Earlier this month, Lenny Dartez was indicted on charges of allegedly harboring illegal aliens through his construction business.

Is it me, or are white people getting bolder on the tube…disgusting

  137. SteveO

Whites aren’t getting bolder, just tired of black bull*****!

  138. mochaj

OMG!!!! kdogg ya killin me! Okay seriously, I was born and raised in Morgan City, La and it’s not ok but it is heard of to have some white people say some of the same things we say to other “Blacks” and it’s not a problem because we know it was no harm intended. Now I found this to be very funny me and my cousin Pooh laughed and it’s only because we know how to find humor in negative. Now before you crazed folk get to commenting on me I strongly suggest u back-back and gimme 50 ft. LMAO…. Okay i once knew someone who cleaned the name callers house and she told my ex friend Patricia to change the sheets it’s black out day. When u email her be sure and ask why she ran over NeNes son bike and didn’t pay for it last year after Christmas. Told ya I was born and raised in MO City!! Hey Pooh! When I go hm next week I will definitely tell my friends we made a gossip site other than Lil wayne (dragon breath) or Hurricane Chris with baby beads reppin us. ROFL….

  139. Chantel

I am so happy that the media and websites report stuff like this. It lets the whole world know that Black people, (or people of color in general) really aren’t the problem.

When was the last time you heard of ANY person of color conducting themselves in such a manner regarding people of other ethnicities?

I agree with the person who said “pity them” because some of them truly are pathetic.

  140. What? LOL

“When was the last time you heard of ANY person of color conducting themselves in such a manner regarding people of other ethnicities?”

Several times today on this board alone and rampantly all over the internet.

Any time the words whitey, cracker, etc. are tossed around.

Or the several times at Safeway when a particular checker tells me at 7:01pm sorry she is closed but then slips in a “sister” she obviously doesn’t even know behind me as I walk away with my groceries.

Or any time Jessie Jackson or Farrakhan speak on the Jews.

Or any time Kanye West opens his fat idiotic yap presuming to speak for the entire black community.

    Puhlease.

I ain’t complaining. ***** happens on both ends of the spectrum. But don’t try to sit here and say it doesn’t occur from “people of color”.

EVERYONE does it, and EVERYONE needs to stop.

  141. BobC

Maybe that Boykin woman was extremely rude and offensive to Dartez. It’s just a WORD. Please. If people are that damn thin-skinned, perhaps they should consider suicide as an option. No one on this board has been a slave, and neither have our parents, for that matter. Quit the whiny victimhood. It keeps us down.

  142. Buttafly

I’m from Louisiana, and am used to the harsh racism that still exists in the south. Certain incidents are just publicized but it is still a major issue in the south.
