‘ATL’ Movie Director Hints At A Sequel In The Works
The popular hood-favorite film that jump started the acting careers of young black hollyweirders like Lauren London, T.I. and Malika Haaq looks like it might be headed back to the big screen for round 2.
Last night, while surfing the wave of Instagram, a picture of him and director Chris Robinson (Real Husbands of Hollywood) led to a very interesting discovery.
The acclaimed film director has battled rumors surrounding a possible sequel to Clifford “T.I.” Harris’ 2006 film, ATL, for years now. Robinson, the man behind Robot Film Company, said back in 2009 that the speculation involving the was “pure rumor,” and that the film could go into motion at the fans’ request.
“We all joked about doing an ATL 2, and how down T.I.’s character would be running the comic section of the newspaper and what the twins would be doing,” Robinson told Rap-Up. “But you never know. If the fans wanted it enough, there would definitely be a sequel.”
Well, guess the fans will finally get their wish.
Director Chris Robinson recently posted this pic to his Instagram with the accompanying caption “II 2014,” hinting that a sequel is definitely in the works and scheduled for release next year:
Will you be checking for “ATL II” if it really does hit theaters next Spring??
