Not Looking Good for Da Brat and JD

The young lady who was busted in the head a couple of weeks ago by Da Brat with a bottle of rum is bringing that attorney heat on both Da Brat and Jermaine Dupri’s club Studio 72. Via AHH:
Shayla Stevens, the Atlanta Falcons Cheerleader who was allegedly assaulted by Da Brat earlier this month, has hired prominent attorneys Willie Gary and CK Hoffler and their firm, Gary, Williams, Finney, Lewis, Watson and Sperando P.L. Da Brat, born Shawntae Harris, allegedly struck Stevens with a 1.7 liter bottle of rum during a shoving match in the club in the early hours of November 1. According to Gary, Stevens has suffered permanent injuries to her face, as well as possible neurological damage. Additionally, she will miss upcoming games as cheerleader for the Falcons, as well as a scheduled role on Tyler Perry’s House of Payne sitcom. Gary, who is nicknamed “The Giant Killer” for his judgments against corporations, is noted for winning a $240 million jury verdict against Walt Disney, for stealing his clients idea for a theme park.
He also claims that the owners of Club 72, hesitated to contact police due to the negative publicity the assault would cause. A manager who witnessed the assault allegedly failed to help Stevens seek proper medical attention and she was eventually taken to the hospital by a family member. Gary also said that prior to the assault, club owners and security had the opportunity to remove Da Brat from Club 72, but failed to do so. Da Brat was charged with aggravated assault. She was released on $50,000 bond as a result of the incident.

Good for her stupid *****!! How in the heck can you hit someone in the head with a bottle and think that you are not suppose to suffer the consequences!!! Okay, 1st of all, the victim is a VERY good friend of mine and I know for sure that there was ABSOUTELY NO ALTERCATION that EVER took place. That is just a made up story (by Brat’s publicists) to make Da Brat not seem like the psychopath that she really is. This was no doubt a case of mistaken identity! Da Brat thought Shayla was some “other” chick she had beef with and ran up on her with a bottle.

“She might never have to work again,” but will that give her back her face…NO. Have you guys ever seen a rum bottle? It’s much denser than most bottles, it would take tremendous force to cause it to shatter in someone’s face. Allegedly, this cheerleader has sustained a deep laceration on her face as well, which could spell nerve damage bringing life-long complications.

Anyway, Shayla and I danced together in Essence at FAMU and we lived in the same apartment complex. She is one of the sweetest people I ever met and I wish her a healthy recovery.

simply stated, it isn’t as easy as we may think. shayla would have been better off not having to go through this at all.

Willie Gary is a sick lawyer, he’s on Jonnie Cochran’s level, but without the notoriety. The only time he *****ed up is when he got some broad pregnant, and had to pay up.

joe, you’re right, that’s why, unless I got totally jacked up in an accident or needed it for medical reasons , I’d NEVER go under the knife. You must have missed my earlier post, because I think that there are repercussions for African Americans getting elective surgery that might not exist for others, i.e., highest rates of obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, etc.
Of course Shayla would have been better off if she hadn’t been bonked on the head. And I think you’re either reading too much or misunderstanding the statement I made about her not having to work again in her life.
It wasn’t an either/or statement, or a “which would you prefer”. It was simply made in reference to the size any potential settlement she might get.
Please, if any of us committed a crime like this we would probably get some jail time. I say give the ***** the slammer!

SEND BRAT TO JAIL!!!!!!! This thread says the girl was hit in the head, but more specifically, that girl was hit in the FACE with a bottle.
