Would you cut off your hair for a milli?

Brian Wilson Rejects Money To Shave Beard

Via NY Daily News:

A razor blade company offered former All-Star closer Brian Wilson a $1 million payday if the newest member of the Dodgers agreed to shave off his signature look, RadarOnline.com reported earlier this week.

But it appears no amount of cash will convince the owner of baseball’s best facial hair to shave. Wilson’s beard is “going with him to the grave” his reps told TMZ.

Wilson, who underwent Tommy John surgery on his right elbow in April 2012 while with the Giants, signed a one-year contract with the NL West leaders on July 31 that guarantees him $1 million for the rest of this season.

“His management feels we need to match his present salary of $1 million at a minimum,” Co-founder and president of 800Razors.com Philip Masiello told the website of the initial offer.

After banking over $22 million as a big leaguer, it’s unlikely even a Brink’s truck full of cash could have convinced “The Beard” to change his mind.

Wilson, who hypes his “World Champion Beard” on his official Twitter account, made his first appearance for L.A. on Thursday pitching the 9th inning of the Dodgers’ 6-0 blanking of the Marlins in Miami, even added a little ponytail to the end of his beard for his debut in Dodger blue.

So add an online razor company to the list of Wilson’s strikeout victims.

Brian Wilson imagines himself to be a modern day Sampson – if he cuts his beard, he’ll lose all this power. Fear the beard!
