LOS ANGELES (AP) — Wrigley says it’s suspending ad campaigns featuring Chris Brown as its spokesman for Doublemint gum.
The company stopped short of saying they will drop the troubled R&B star completely.
A company statement expresses concern about what it calls “serious allegations made against Chris Brown.” He was arrested Sunday night for an alleged battery on a woman, and canceled his Grammy performance.
Wrigely said it would suspend any current advertising or any related marketing until the situation is resolved, adding that the 19-year-old should be “afforded the same due process as any citizen.”
As we previously posted….
As the story unfolds, the name of the victim is revealed (as if we didn’t already know):
Rihanna is the named alleged victim in the Chris Brown case and the allegation is that she was assaulted with a deadly weapon. Law enforcement sources tell us the crime report calls the incident assault with a deadly weapon — we do not yet know the nature of the weapon. The crime report gives the victim’s name as Robyn Fenty — that’s Rihanna’s real name.
Welp, we told you that yesterday but now that they’ve offically released the name, the sh*t’s about to get real REAL. Stay tuned for more details of this jacked up scandal…

^^FYI, cold sores are herpes; herpes simplex 1. Don’t get comfortable with the idea of having sores on the mouth or the face- IT’S THE SAME THING. It can be on the face or the genitals, even the EYE. Do your research. Simplex 2 is technically genital herpes, but that can be transferred to the face as well if you perform oral sex on someone with it.
Now, if that’s the reason CB hit her (which I doubt since they were photographed in Europe hanging out with the sore on her lip), that’s still not an excuse.
All I will say is…herpes is the gift that keeps on giving… :-\

Chris Brown has a history with family abuse, the singer revealed in 2007.
Brown, who was arrested Sunday night for allegedly *****aulting a woman IDed as his superstar girlfriend Rihanna, told Giant magazine that his stepfather used to beat his mother.
“He used to hit my mom … He made me terrified all the time, terrified like I had to pee on myself,” the 19-year-old said.
“I remember one night he made her nose bleed. I was crying and thinking, ‘I’m just gonna go crazy on him one day…’ I hate him to this day.”
Brown, who noted that he’s studied martial arts, recalls telling his mother that he would “kill” his stepfather with a baseball bat one day.
The “Run It!” singer turned himself in to authorities Sunday, hours after police responded to a 911 call from a woman who IDed Brown as her attacker.
Police wouldn’t reveal the woman’s identity, but sources say a visibly bruised Rihanna was taken for treatment at Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Sunday.
Brown was released on $50,000 bail and is scheduled to go to court in March.

As a older ***** if I was to talk to Chris my advice would be to watch your temper when you dealing with females. If you hit em’, self defense or not, if they call the authorities it’ll get you late every time. You had a 50,000.00 bail I’m *****uming that’s before the bondsmen brought it down to 5,000.00. Your out on bail try to smooth things over with your girl depending on how communication is between yall’ as of now, but if you can talk to her let her know that it went too far and see if she can drop the charges. After that is all said and done, if you have to constantly argue and fight with a chick then you don’t need to be with her. As for Rhianna don’t try to take advantage of a dude by jumping in his face and putting your hands on him because you don’t think he’ll hit you back because sometimes you’ll get proven wrong. I know how it is to be young and in your first real relationship. Sometimes all of those emotions can get too heavy for mu*****a’s to handle and a thick argument turn into a physical one. I’m setting the record straight! Chris would never hit a women. I’ve been on tour with both and Chris isn’t down with Ri’s *****e problem and I’m not talking about the drink. She was high on Saturday night. Now what caused the altercation….Chris was most likely trying to get her to come off her high and not doing another hit before they were due to join us at a party after Mr. Davis show. R&B singer Chris Brown was arrested Sunday night by Los Angeles cops for allegedly beating up a woman, and insiders identified the victim as his superstar girlfriend Rihanna.
Sources said Brown beat sexy singer Rihanna, 20, after they fought in his car following a pre-Grammys party.
“She got out of the car to walk home. He got out to stop her,” said a source. “Things got physical. He hit her, possibly more than once. She had multiple bruises.”
A security guard at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles told the Daily News Sunday night that he saw Rihanna being taken for treatment at the hospital.
“She’s been released,” said guard Rodderick Brown.
The “Umbrella” singer and Chris Brown, 19, were both scheduled to perform at the Grammys, but pulled out at the last minute.
The Los Angeles Police Department would not identify the woman who was attacked, citing confidentiality.
The sweet-faced “Run It!” singer turned himself in wearing jeans at a Los Angeles police stationhouse about 7:15 p.m. local time.
He was polite, cooperated with cops and was released after paying $50,000 bail, police said.
Police said the fight took place about 12:30 a.m. Sunday in the affluent Han***** Park neighborhood.
“Brown and the woman were inside of a vehicle,” said LAPD spokeswoman April Harding. “According to the victim they became involved in an argument. … The argument escalated into an altercation.”
By the time cops responded to the scene following a 911 call, Brown was gone.
Brown and Rihanna were seen Saturday night at a pre-Grammy gala hosted by music mogul Clive Davis in Beverly Hills.
The two posed for pictures and were spotted kissing before they hopped into a waiting silver Lamborghini.
“They were arguing. Apparently, Rihanna accused him of checking out other women at Clive Davis’ party,” said the industry insider.
“It seems she’s taking the steps you’d need to take if you were going to press charges,” added the source. “But she could wake up tomorrow morning and decide she still loves him.”
The pop world’s power couple have been dating for more than a year, and rumors have swirled that they were engaged.
Yet there were rumblings in recent days about troubles, and sources described the Barbados-born beauty as a clingy girlfriend who can’t bear to have Brown out of her sights.

I believe the daily news. Why would they fight when they got in the car from a party over herpes? They came from a party not the doctor. I do beleive Rhianna must of been angry about chris’s roaming eyes. That is plausible. It doesn’t make sense to go to a party and then learn you have herpes. That is foolish. They didn’t even make it home before the fight broke out. This hepres business is not a beleivable story.
