Alicia Keys was a no show to a party appearance at Pacha nightclub in midtown NYC. The promoters were $4,000 short on her $15,000 payment for the appearance so she was circling the block while they came up with the dough:
Alicia was slated for a midnight arrival, but by the time 1:30 a.m. rolled around, her bodyguards, friends and even boyfriend were all inside waiting for her. Outside, Keys drove around the neighborhood. “These promoters were digging in their pockets, looking for cash, and were still short. The owner of the club even offered to pay the remainder of the owed money himself, just to get her in the club.” That’s where fans who’d paid $25 a pop were waiting, says the spywitness: “One eight-months-pregnant lady, who is an Alicia Keys superfan, showed up and waited for hours just to see her.”
Keys’ manager, Jeff Robinson, told us, “This is the first I’ve heard of that,” when we asked him about the lack of payment. “I never heard she was getting paid at all.” Then why did Alicia not go inside even to meet her boyfriend? “Well, there was a lot of mismanagement by these club promoters, and that’s about all I know.” Keys’ fans got the shortest end of the stick, as many went home dejected after missing their idol. Usually devoted to her fans, Keys may have had no idea that the people at the club had paid to see her.

OMG! I was there! Me and my girls waited until 3AM and she never showed. The DJ kept saying, she’s on her way. Everybobdy was so *****ed. Me and my girls paid $40 for VIP entry so we wouldn’t have to wait on line. When we got there the line was realliy short and it was a waste of money! Wow! Good thing this story came out. I was about to start hating on Alicia. Damn those broke ***** promoters.

Of course she knew people paid to see her. How else would the promoter come up with the 15k? She is an artist who gets paid for performances and appearances. I would have been bad business for her to show up when the money was short. My question is why didn’t she come in if the club owner offered to pay the money? Why couldn’t she just call her boyfriend and let him know what was up? This doesn’t sound right.
Alicia when will you realize you are a naturally stunning woman? What’s up with you caking on the make-up these days???? So not necessary. That’s what causes spots. Ladies y’all gotta let your skin breathe: have days off from make-up and rock the natural look, always wash off the make-up at night and ALWAYS use Carol’s Daughter products : ). Read the full article in the NY Daily News. I’m not mad at her at all. The promoters do all they can to get their money and to hell with everyone else. When they finally got the money, they called her and she was home in bed.
Why didn’t they have her money together at the beginning? that’s too bad about the pregnant lady, however, Alicia Keys has a job to perform…. and that pregnant lady probably wouldn’t perform at her job if she wasn’t getting paid, herself.
