“SEX and the City” star Chris Noth is about to be a baby daddy. Noth’s live-in girlfriend, actress Tara Wilson, is “about five months along”. The couple is not engaged and has no immediate plans to marry.

Personally, i don’t have a problem one way or the other when it comes to racial dating, just as long as the guy treats you right. My sister married a white guy and she livin’ the life! I know this to be true–that’s why I typed it. It’s sad!!!! A know a young lady that is very dark skinned and just had a little boy a few days ago for that very reason! The thing about her is—she’s been told for so long that she’s too dark or, too tall. When I first met her–I was literally floored by her beauty! No joke! I complimented her all the time but I guess her issues were so deep rooted that her self esteem was literally beyond repair. Yall its not that serious. First some facts:
Being mixed doesn’t guarantee a lighter colored or prettier child. Remember blacks have the highest degree of genenic deversity. So you can have light colored blacks and dark colored blacks without interracial mixture. I believe we’re the only group on the planet that can do that with skin tones, which is why issues of skin color may be so hot with us.
Second, having a white mother or father does not guarantee a prettier child. In fact a recent global top 10 list of most beautiful women had only 3 whites on it (two I think were Latinas). Two blacks made the list (Beyonce and Halle). However the very top slots went to brown women with East Indian actrees Aishwarya Rai on top. The point being that the world is not divided black and white and anyone caught in that color scheme is missing out on a lot.
Who people choose to date is up to them. Chris and his girl could care less about anyone on this blog or carrying the torch for interracial relationships. They just want their child to come out safe and healthy.
I agree that there is a lot of self hate going on in here. I have always said that people who are fanatical about interracial relationships are saying more about themselves and their past choices than they are any race.

If some of y’all feel the need to down brothas, keep doing it all you want, but just know black women have issues too, and some of y’all make it so obvious. But just know that Taye Diggs and Wesley Snipes do not represent the majority of black men! But if we want to look at high profile black men as examples, then let’s focus on black men like he Late Dr. King, the late Malcolm X, Denzel Washington, Morris Chestnut, Colin Powell, Bill Cosby, Barack Obama and countless other African men who married African women.

I too have brown skin and long locks, and I’ve had my share of white men, not because I prefer them but I’m attracted to them as human beings and I grew up in an environment where I was constantly in contact with them.
As a very p*****ionate person with a strong sense of justice, whether it’s race, war, or poverty, I could never really get my last white boyfriend to understand me. He was too pre-occupied with my “big brown boobies”, and what my full lips could do for him. He would call me a ‘black *****’ and a ‘dirty *****’ in a very “playful way” during intimate times, and disguised it as innocent “dirty talk”. I have never been objectived and marginilized in such manner until I was with him, as I was nothing but a racial fetish fufilling his fantasy.
This isn’t my only experience with white guys, as a person who’s into social and political matters, I tend not to go for airheads, and unless you can challenge me intellectually and understand my way of thinking, I’m not going to deal with you. And, unfortunately, the white guys I have dated were clueless to African American matters and saw racism as an illusion in the minds of black people. Now, if you’re a person who just live your life simple, you wouldn’t need a person who’s capable of such deep and intellectual conversations. But I have found that black and white couples must really get to know each other before pursuing something long term, because that’s two different worlds we are talking about here.
But my current boyfriend is a dread-locked black Afro-Caribbean guy smooth dark skin, and I’m more than content. We do everything together and have just about everything in common. One more thing. This argument about crossing over is being held by Asians, Latinos and East Indians. Check out their blogs, it is almost the same as our’s. This isn’t just a black thing. In fact an East Indian friend of mine was the one to point this fact out to me. She encouraged me to google indian women and go on their blog sites and see what her people were saying. I was amazed, they have the exact same arguments we do! Asians and Latinos the same. Color playing big into the conversations. It seems everywhere dark people are having self esteem issues. Go look for yourself and stop almost sh*t.
Oh and most single mothers are divorcees whose husbands loose contact with their children within 10 years. This number includes white men. Stats on wife abuse and beatings includes a astonishing number of white men. By *****uming only blacks are perps is sending a dangerous message to women who will get caught in terrible situations that they could have avoided if they approached a relationship more objectively. So stop playing with lives. And stop insulting those of us who are taking care of our families without fanfare or hype.
Lastly, you ever think that black men may not necessarily want you? Your attitude may turn them off from the start. I can’t believe every good black men in the world is unavaible unless there is something wrong with you.
Many of these posts have been very disheartening and painful to read. We have a lot of healing to do as a people.
As far as some of the posts of the sistas here, it especially hit home to me because I’ve said some of the same things. It can be very frustrating when you feel that black women as a whole are undervalued, unappreciated, and rejected, by their own, no less. When I hear a brotha like a Damon Wayans or a D.L. Hughley make a crack publicly about my sisters, it hurts me to my core — because I expect more from those who look like me (and, yes, I understand that they are comedians but these “jokes” come at our expense.) There’s definitely a disconnect between some brothers and sisters and, unfortunately, it is the negative stats and images that are being highlighted and perpetuated.
For the sistas spewing venom against brothers — there are plenty of men out there who are taking care of their affairs and their families. Don’t let the bad apples sully your view of the whole lot. And if a brother disrespects, mistreats, or denigrates you, write him off as a negative entity and keep it moving. Allowing unhealthy experiences to harden or change you is giving away power. There are also hurting black men who direct their pain at sisters. Two wrongs don’t make a right.
At the end of the day, we need each other — our community’s health and stability depend on it.

But I must say Bossip is not the place for help because your condition seem very serious. I suggest you look up local clinics in your area for *****istance. There are also nonprofit organizations that cater to women with really low self esteem like yourself.
Just understand a white man (or no man) can heal your wounds, and they obviously seem very deep. Only you can heal yourself, and I believe there’s hope for you.
BTW: While you’re on your white boy escapade, please make sure you don’t find one like Big since he’s a drunk, baby daddy woman beater and all.
Anway, check yourself into a clinic, and who knows, you may find an equally crazy white boy to mate with and have crazy, low self esteem having, self hating children.
