Celebrity Women Who Were Victims Of Domestic Violence

Most people know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but did you know that it’s also Domestic Violence Awareness Month?

Unfortunately, the statistics among those who have suffered abuse at the hands of someone they were in a relationship with are still on the rise and like many things, it’s a problem that transcends race, social status and even celebrity status.

Here are a gallery of celebrity women who’ve put their former lovers on blast by speaking out about their physically abusive relationships in hopes of helping other young women who might be going through the same thing.


Michel’e
She revealed on the R&B Divas L.A. reunion show that Dr. Dre broke her nose during one of their many domestic violence incidents. She later divorced him but says they are now cordial for the sake of their son together.


Erica Mena
She was in a relationship with her baby daddy and former Terror Squad affiliate Raul Conde and recently revealed that he was physically abusive throughout their time together. She says he beat her, threw her down stairs and even spit on her at times before she finally got the courage to take her son and leave. There’s even a video of her kicking him in the neck after she says he punched her in the face during a public argument.


Halle Berry
She said she lost 80% of her hearing in one ear after being beaten by an unidentified boyfriend rumored to have been Wesley Snipes. She also claimed that ex MLB hubby David Justice was physically abusive during their short marriage.


K.Michelle
She said her ex boo-thang Memphitz beat her during their relationship and even addressed it on her first season of LHHATL. He later denied it but she continuously maintains that it’s the truth.


Pam Anderson
Tommy Lee was hit with a domestic violence charge after he attacked then-wife Pam Anderson while she was holding their young son in her arms. She said he was consistently abusive also and they later divorced.


Kelly Rowland
She revealed in her song “Dirty Laundry” that she was physically abused in one of her relationships for years before anyone knew about it. She never named her abuser, but there was heavy speculation that Nelly’s former mananger Cuda, who Kelly dated for many years, was the culprit.

Evelyn Lozada
She was only married to NFLer Chad Ochocinco for 41 days when she filed for divorce after he head-butted her during an argument over a condom receipt she found in his car just 3 weeks after they were married. She also did a few televised interviews about the incident and addressed it on the current season of BBW.


Rihanna
We all know how this one played out between Rihanna and her ex Chris Brown, who slammed her head into a window before punching her repeatedly in the face, arms, and legs according to the police report during one of the most shocking celebrity domestic violence incidents ever back in 2009. She’s spoken out about it publicly multiple times since then and the pictures to prove it are still unbelievable to this day.


Tina Turner
In one of the most infamously abusive celebrity relationsships ever documented, Tina Turner’s former husband Ike nearly killed her on more than one occasion throughout their marriage by brutally beating her repeatedly and even forcing sex on her.
