Man Forgets To Book Wedding Reception
Via NYDaily News reports:
A desperate groom-to-be who forgot to book a wedding hall for his big day called in a last-minute bomb threat at the venue so that his fiancé wouldn’t find out.
Neil McArdle, of Liverpool, England, is facing jail time after he admitted in court to calling in the threat at St. George’s Hall on April 24 – the day he was set to tie the knot, the Liverpool Echo reported.
His bride-to-be, Amy Williams, 29, even turned up to the historic hall in her wedding dress, only to find it evacuated and swarming with cops, then newspaper said.
McArdle, 36, reportedly was supposed to book the hall for his and Williams’ nups, but hadn’t completed the paperwork in time. On the morning of the wedding, he called the hall from a payphone near his house and told the receptionist, “There’s a bomb in St George’s Hall and it will go off in 45 minutes.”
The bride and the wedding guests realized something was up when the hall reopened later in the day and staffers said there was nothing on the books for a McArdle-Williams wedding.
“It was just a ridiculous thing I did,” McArdle told the Daily Mail. “It might be funny to other people, but not to me. It’s wrecking my family’s life.”
“I’m still together with Amy, but she’s got high blood pressure and wants nothing to do with it,” he said.
McArdle pleaded guilty in Liverpool Crown Court on Thursday to communicating false information with intent. He’s scheduled to be charged later this month.
McArdle and Williams still haven’t married.
So the guy is going to start off his marriage with dishonesty, lies, and threats. She’s a fool if she doesn’t dump him immediately.
