Academy Award winning actress Halle Berry has signed on to star in the Eunetta Boone-scripted film “Who Is Doris Payne.” Berry, who recently shot the film ‘Frankie and Alice,’ joins Justin Berfield (Malcolm in the Middle) and Jason Felts in the film about an international jewel thief whose career spanned five decades. Billed as a heist flick, ‘Who is Doris Payne’ is being developed by J2 (Sons of Tuscon).
This kind of role is some groundbreaking ish for a Black Actress in this day and age. Let’s hope it’s an improvement from that wack ass Catwoman jawn though. Time will tell.

playing a jewel thief is not groundbreaking. playing bessie coleman or mae jemison would at least be more salutory, though still not breaking ground if the actress is, HELLO, a black woman. Try breaking ground by playing one of our “p*****ing” first ladies, like Roslyn Carter.

Some of you posting under different screennames just to hate need to get a life. Regardless, Halle Berry is a good actress and deserves everything she’s worked hard for. Her few films, “Perfect Strangers” and “Things we lost in the fire” were actually decent movies. I hope some of you actually seen the movies instead of just coming up in here saying the movies sucked. Catwoman was not good at all, but her last few movies were decent. And I think I will go support her in this role because the plot sounds interresting.

Denzel Washington and Halle have been trying to work with eachother for years, their schedules are always conflicting. I applaud Halle Berry for always taking risks and working with different people although she knows there will always be haters like you lurking around the corner. The woman has just about every award imaginable, she’s one of the top paid actresses in film, there really isn’t much more she could do that has not already been done. Im sure you ask any of those actors you named if they wanted to do a movie with Halle and they would be ready and willing. So go get lost.
