I used to watch ‘227′ and think she was decent for a Black sitcom actress but then she raised her stock in ‘Boyz N’ The Hood’ and I took notice. In ‘Jerry McGuire,’ she blew me away and I was SOLD. T.I., omarion, Marcus Houston, Bow Wow and a lot of other entertainers are not excellent actors. They were Just very popular at the time and movie producers want to attract the highest revenue. It is a business.

You should stop wasting your time being bitter and having animosity towards light skinned attractive women such as Beyonce because she is well paid, pretty, and talented. Halle is a very talented actress who is very pretty. She is highly sought after because of her talent and features, not because she is light skinned. Everyone has flaws. Halle Berry might not be “the best” black actress (I think Angela B*****ett is), but Halle is certainly one of the best. She’s probably one of the most versitile actresses (black or white) out there. Regardless of how much hate people might try to throw her way…that woman stays on her grind and has certainly earned everything she has.

Maybe some black actresses need to stay on their grind and quit parting so much *cough* Sanaa *cough* Gabby Union….some of those woman stay parting then everyone wants to hate on Halle or whoever else for getting all the movie roles. Halle gets her roles because she’s earned them, and regardless if a movie goes well or not I give her props for having the courage to always try something new. Tarji has been on her grid which is why she is in the position she is in right now.

I really do wish some black people would get over the self hate and stop always looking at skin color as an excuse as to why they are notsucceeding. Truth be told, some of those black actresses acting acting is limited, in fact the only ones I see in those pictures wih mad acting skills are Angela, Halle, Elis, Alfre and maybe Regina King…along with Viola and Taraji. Other then that, the rest of those other actresses acting skills are limited..regardless if they are darker or lighter skinned.

I don’t think people “hate” on Halle she is good but she is not great. You do have to admit every time something a little more mainstream comes along Berry is the first and only name out there. That’s not bacause other black actresses don’t work hard or aren’t good, it’s beacuse white america finds Berry to be acceptable. We don’t control Hollywood, so to me someone saying they wouldn’t mind seeing other people have a chance isn’t hating. Other black actresses do exist and are just as good if not better and should be seen as well. Marianne Jean-Baptiste in ‘Secrets And Lies’ was a powerhouse. She’s not Hollywood beautiful but she’s got this quiet dignity about her that makes her characters so authentic. Reminiscent of Whoopi Goldberg in ‘The Long Walk Home’ and Regina Taylor in ‘I’ll Fly Away.’ I would have liked to have seen her (Jean-Baptiste) graduate to more big screen roles but now she’s doing television.

Yes, Hollyweird needs to look at these ladies when they are casting roles for black actresses, and stop casting singers. Beyonce was not the star of Cadillaac Record, but they pumped her up to make you think she was. Gabrielle Union had a better role than she did. However, popular singer draws box office crowds, but after you see them you’re disappointed. You wish you had waited for the DVD.

Yes, people do hate on Halle…if they are not talking about her acting, they are talking about her being mixed..if they are not talking about that, they are talking about her dating a white man. To say people dont hate on her is a little naive.

If Halle’s name is the first name out there when good roles come up..it could be because she is considered one of the top actresses. Why? Because she worked hard to be where she is. When I look at old pics of Halle or Will or Denzel….they hardly ever were out parting…they were always searching for ways to evolve and on their grind. Its not their fault that they get chosen for roles. And people shouldn’t be mad at Halle for it either. As I said, she work hard to get to where she is, the same way Taraji has worked her butt off to get into her position, I suggest the other women continue to work hard and do the same. Not everyone is going to get nominated for an Oscar wether they are black or white. Halle Berry was chosen the same way Denzel and Will were chosen, they get paid the big bucks..it is what it is.

You saying that “America excepts Halle more” as if thats her fault. And thats the way people act…I read somewhere that Halle has even p*****ed on roles in hopes that another black actress would get them. Did you even know that? Also, Halle produced an HBO movie that was real successful called Lackawana Blues that was nothing but black people..im not sure where you are going when you say “Halle doesn’t act with black woman”. You are pretty much exposing youself and proving my point. Oh yeah and “Baps” and “Boomerang” were movies where she has not played a broken down-troden character and played next to black women, LOL! Either way, im not sure how much Halle goes about picking her co-stars, I think that is pretty much up to the casting director.

You thinking Elis (who I mentioned in my list of good actresses) and Thandie that are better then Halle is your opinion, the same way that while I think Kimberly Elis is a good actress but sometimes tends to over act and Thandi (who also pretty much has the same roles as Halle and doesn’t get a chance to act next to black people as much yet you dont have a problem with her) is probably about the same level as Halle is in my opinion. It just seems to me that some of you have double standards when it comes to Halle Berry, you’ll call her out for something yet accept others for doing the same, interresting.

P.S If some of you want to be mad at anybody for taking roles from other black women..be mad at Beyonce. She is not a real actress yet keeps getting roles, regardless of how irrelevent some of the roles might be, those roles could be going to other up and coming REAL black actresses. Beyonce is not going to take away any roles from the top actresses like Halle or Angela B*****ett…but she could be taking away roles from up and comings. I will support her when it comes to her performing, but I wont support mediocrity when it comes to her acting. Thats a perfect example right there.
