Hide ya kids… again.

According to NY Post reports:

Central Connecticut State University was put on emergency lockdown at around noon on Monday amid reports that a masked, camouflaged gunman had entered a campus dorm.

“All on CCSU campus must seek shelter and stay indoors,” CCSU warned on Twitter. “This is not a drill. Campus emergency.”

Another tweet said, “Seek shelter. Lock doors, close windows. We will communicate when we have more info.”

University spokesman Mark McLaughlin said someone was seen “either with a gun or was thought to have a gun.”

Jordan Governale, a 20-year-old junior, said he saw a strange man wandering around with a sword and sheath strapped to his back and a back pack. The man was dressed in a mask, camouflage pants, knee pads and a body-armor vest, Governale said.

Students at the dorm where the suspect is believed to be inside, James Hall, were told to barricade themselves in their rooms, according to local TV station WFSB.

There were unconfirmed reports of hostages as heavily armed SWAT teams swarmed the 12,000-student campus.

One student told the TV station cops told him they were looking for “an African American male” dressed in the gear.

“I was in class, and I heard the siren go off,’’ the young man said. “Then, they had an announcement that said to stay away from all entrance ways and windows.’’

A friend of one of the students inside the dorm told the station that his pal had not heard any gunshots.

“It’s actually quite frightening that it can happen so close to home,’’ one student told WSFB.

“I was hoping it wasn’t anything serious, that it was a drill. Then they said it’s not a drill. … i’m keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best.’’

The latest news from the college’s Twitter account is that the lockdown is over and police have a suspect in custody. We just hope nobody was hurt. Our thoughts and prayers are with the CCSU community.
