I feel you. I think a lot of people are color stuck, that just because you are light skinned, you are automatically beautiful. I have no problem w/ light skinned, I can say C*****ie and K.D. Aubert are beautiful but Beyonce, Alicia Keys and Halle Berry are hype; average at best. Same thing w/ Rusell’s prostitue, I mean his girlfriend, she is average at best. I think shes a pretty average lookin woman as Kimora was a pretty average looking woman…I think people are looking at Kimora’s beauty now that she has all the money, makeup, and fab, but if you look at her old pictures she wasn’t pretty she was just tall and slender and wasn’t a huge model until she was with Russ…I’m sure if this woman stays with Russ for some years she will be just as glamorous.

Actually Kimora was discovered by Karl Lagerfeld when she was 13, so that means she’s been a Chanel girl since then. (Granted Karl hates her ***** now)

Chanel is the best of the best so stating that Kimora was average until Russell, maybe money wise, but career wise she was on top. You have to be up there in the modeling world to work for Chanel. Notice that only the big names walk that runway.

One more thing, you don’t necessarily need to be pretty/atractive to be a model. Even Tyra said on her show, usually the prettiest girl comes home. She also said there were girls prettier than her but they couldn’t get far because they were just that, a pretty face but that she also had brains. Look at some of the models, some of them are ugly as ***** or average looking. I have seen models that are very pretty but no one knows their name. It’s about if you can take pictures well, if you are versatile. you’re personality,etc

I wasn’t unclear on the average statement….that’s my point. If she or the other celebs who were called “average”, then I concluded that I must live in the ugly part of the country. As for me, well, I can’t say that I’ve ever been called ugly…but nothing’s impossible…as you said, beauty is subjective. Beauty and youth are both a commodity. I have never seen Russell Simmons or any other well paid male with an unattractive woman….but we don’t disparage them for their choices for beautiful women; but as soon as a beautiful woman selects a well paid suitor (from her many choices) then she has to be a prostitute!
