Woman Runs Friend Over With SUV During Argument Over Facebook Messages

Heather Marie Heitger, 27, is accused of deliberately striking another woman with her SUV Wednesday morning in Crestview, according to a news release from the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.

The two women appeared to be feuding just before Heitger’s black Dodge Durango accelerated rapidly and hit the 20-year-old woman, propelling her into a nearby gutter, according to witnesses.

The seriously injured woman was transported to a Pensacola hospital in critical condition, deputies said.

Deputies found Heitger’s SUV in an alleyway. Several items were placed in front of it in an attempt to try to hide it, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies then tracked down Heitger, who allegedly told them that she had accidentally struck the woman.

But seputies weren’t buying her story.

They had gathered some intel indicating Heitger and the other woman may have been involved in a dispute over some Facebook messages, the release stated.
