Mariah Carey Talks Nicki Minaj And Nick Cannon

Veteran songstress Mariah Carey recently released a new single from her upcoming album and she stopped by NYC’sHot 97 studio to chat it up with Angie Martinez. During their quick sit down, for which SoSo Def super-producer Jermaine Dupri was also present, Mariah dished on everything from her long-running diva behavior, her marriage with Nicki Cannon, hating American Idol and more.

Check out a few interview excerpts below:

On why she’s overly critical of her appearance:
It’s called insecurity. It’s just…I think when you grow up a certain way, you just feel like, different than everybody else…you just have it.

On how Nick deals with her diva behavior at home:
Oh man, he tried to put his shoes in my shoes closet the other day and I was like “are you for real?” We had to bust through the wall and I’m gonna take the nursery and he can have that area for himself, for a closet. Cause I can’t do that, it has to be perfect. And he should have his own space where his stuff can be.

Between having twins AND dealing with Mimi the Diva, it sounds like Nick has his hands full for sure.

Mariah also addressed how she really felt about working with Nicki Minaj on American Idol what she thinks about Nick calling himself “Mr. Cannon,” rumors that Diddy chopped her down and more.  Check that out, along with the full interview video, on the flip.
