NFL Safety in Critical Condition

Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor is in critical condition after being shot in his Miami home early this morning. The reports are pretty vague on what went down, but apparently he was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital and didn’t know what part of his body was injured. Taylor’s family asked that information about his condition remain undisclosed.
Update: Sean Taylor passed away this morning after being shot in the leg yesterday. He was 24 years old.

I hope it was a random home invasion and that he isnt mixed up in some drama.

I read this on Yahoo news earlier…he had some sort of altercation recently with some guys he suspected of stealing his ATV’s…don’t know if this was retaliation or what……..
Here we go again! A few years ago he was nearly fired from the NFL for piston whipping s man. Damn, why don’t these millionaire hoodrats leave that mess behind them when they move up in the world. I hope he lives and changes his life from whatever it is he’s doing wrong.

From all indications, it is reported that this was a home invasion, and he was shot in a major (femoral) artery in the groin area. They say he’s in a coma now… GOD works miracles… PRAY FOR HIM!!!

From my understanding he suprised someone trying to break in his crib and rob him. Lately, it seems pro sports figures or being sought out to rob more often. This just sounds fishy to me. First of all why was he in FL anyway, they just played Sunday and I’m sure they had some kind of meeting/practice today? Second they are not saying that it is or isn’t a robbery. This crap is crazy, now he’s in critical condition! Somebody has to know something!!!
I’m Still me…. they have said it was a home invasion… numerous times. And he was in FL because he is hurt, and has not been playing for the past 2 games. It has been reported that he may have been in FL seeking a second opinion about his injury.

Redskin fans from the DMV LOVE Sean Taylor and are praying for him to get better. The shooting happened at his house, not at a club or mixed up in some BS. He hasdn’t played in 2 weeks and probaly was in FL because the Redskins played Tampa Bay yesterday. He has kept a low profile since the other legal situation was resolved. I’m praying that he makes it.

the LAST TIME I heard a family of a pro football player UNWILLING to give details about the players condition was Eric Ball of the Raiders (He also played for the Cleveland Browns)… He was a safety too and a DAMN Good One. He ended up dying from some sort of stomach cancer I think

I was only wondering where all that apparent anger was coming from. If I wrong for *****uming that you were angry, I apologize. My point is really that we should pray for him. This guy is in a coma, and whether he makes wise decisions or not, I don’t think he deserves to die, especially not like this. He has a young daughter, and family who loves him!! Is this the same guy who dad is in the hospital from diabetes? He had received a liver from his best friend from the 70’s Cowboys team. I think his dad is also in the hospital and that he may not make it. I could have him confused with Shawn Springs.

I live in the DC area, and I was listening to the news this morning, and from what his team mates are saying Sean had indeed turned his life around, and everyone was proud of him, they said once he had his child, that the completely turned his life around, don’t know how true that is, but that is what his team mates are saying

Officers were sent to Taylor’s home at about 1:45 a.m. Monday after his girlfriend called 911 and said he was shot in his lower body, Miami-Dade Police Lt. Nancy Perez said. Taylor had missed the last two games because of a knee injury and was at home recuperating. He was airlifted to the hospital.
Investigators were still interviewing the girlfriend and other relatives in the home, Perez said. No arrests have been made.
“It could have been a possible burglary; it could have been a possible robbery,” Perez said. “It has not been confirmed as yet.”
Sharpstein said Taylor’s girlfriend told him the couple was awakened by loud noises, and Taylor grabbed a machete he keeps in the bedroom for protection. Someone then broke through the bedroom door and fired two shots, one missing and one hitting Taylor, the lawyer said.
“It was clearly a burglary, an armed burglary,” Sharpstein said, adding nothing appeared to have been stolen.
The shooting happened at the pale yellow house Taylor bought two years ago in the Miami suburb of Palmetto Bay.

I can understand ***** Cat’s rage. It just seems strange that almost Anything dealing with athletes getting killed, arrest or attack are black.
This goes back to the community’s cuddling and babying athletes. They can do no wrong in people’s eyes as long as they catch/shoot the ball.
We have a scandal in Dallas with a school forging grades to keep an athlete on the team and win a Third straight state championship.
Look at Vick, Pacman, Jena 6, Tyson, Maurice Clarett, Lawrence Phillips and others. These guys have been getting in trouble for years and people looked the other way. *****ody tried to help them or tell to get away from those losers that can get them in trouble.

This hurts so much. Not because the Redskins lost a player but because a mother lost her son, a father lost his son, a girlfriend lost her boyfriend and a child lost her father. Regardless of his celebrity a 24 year old man lost his life because someone wanted to act stupid. Life is far too short to not live it to the fullest. Don’t take anyone or anything for granted.
