This is just RIDCULOUZ. Bush could not speak worth a damn. He even made up words as he spoke. They cannot stand the fact that a “Black” man is so well educated and intelligent. They have to find fault about something. Our country is too messed up for them to concentrate on proper english. Let us focus on all the people that are losing their jobs and homes.

Again, I beg to differ….there are instance when “me” is appropriate and “I” isn’t…I don’t have any of Obama’s quotes…however, I is not always correct…third graders are taught the test of dropping the other person and seeing how it fits:
Those cookies were sent to Michele and I.
Those cookies were sent to I…doesn’t work
Those cookies were sent to Michele and me.
Those cookies were sent to me.
Again,I don’t have any of his speeches handy…but ‘Me is correct as and object…

IT IS DEFINITELY CORRECT ENGLISH TO SAY ‘MICHELLE AND I’OR ‘(FILL IN THE BLANK) AND I,’AND IT ALWAYS WILL BE!!! THAT’S PROPER ENGLISH GRAMMAR. OUR PRESIDENT IS RIGHT, AS USUAL. IF HE WERE TO SAY ‘MICHELLE AND ME,’THAT WOULD BE IMPROPER ENGLISH GRAMMAR, PERIOD. THIS IS SOMETHING YOU LEARN IN GRADE SCHOOL. WHEN HE SAYS ‘MICHELLE AND I,’‘MICHELLE’AND ‘I’ARE BOTH SUBJECTS OF THE SENTENCE. THAT IS, THEY ARE THE NOUNS THAT ARE PERFORMING THE ACTION. YOU CAN, AND OFTEN DO, HAVE TWO SUBJECTS IN A SENTENCE. AN OBJECT IS DIFFERENT. AN OBJECT [MORE PROPERLY KNOWN AS DIRECT OBJECT, BY THE WAY, SO-CALLED GRAMMAR CRITICS] WOULD BE ‘CHILDREN’IN THIS SENTENCE: MICHELLE AND I TOOK THE CHILDREN TO SCHOOL THIS MORNING. THE DIRECT OBJECT[S] IS WHO OR WHAT SOMETHING IS BEING DONE TO. IN THIS CASE, IT IS THE CHILDREN. MICHELLE AND I ARE THE SUBJECTS TAKING THE DIRECT OBJECTS [CHILDREN] TO SCHOOL!!!
