Ciara Reacts To Grammy Snubs
For some time now it has been acknowledged that the R&B genre is brimming with struggle as many vocalists have chosen to go straight hip-hop or electronic dance. Gone are the days of soulful ballads about love, sex, and heartbreak. Surprisingly, this year two of the biggest real R&B songs came from the most unlikely of singers in Ciara and Love and Hip-Hop’s resident wing-flapper, K. Michelle.
As the Grammy nominations were announced this weekend, both ladies eagerly anticipated seeing their name amongst their peers. Ci-Ci’s “Body Party” and K. Michelle’s “V.S.O.P.” were both major hits at radio, however the committee essentially gave them a “ho sit down” and completely ignored their success.
