A few days before Miami Heat baller Dwyane Wade popped the question to his long-time lady Gabrielle Union, she attended a screening for the next episode of her latest project “Being Mary Jane,” which is set to air tomorrow.
It was also ironically just a few weeks after DWade’s now not-so-secret baby boy, who is reportedly around 6 weeks old, was born. Nevertheless, Gabby had some words of wisdom for The Jasmine Brand when asked about women who just can’t quite get the picture that it might be time to move on from a man when a relationship has run it’s course.
Check out a few excerpts from the quick interview below:
On how a woman can tell when it’s time to let go:
Um, when they don’t call you back. No. If you ever have to put ‘never answer‘ in the phone, that may be a good sign that relationships run its course. If you don’t look forward to seeing them. If the relationship starts to feel like a job could be a sign.
A lot of times as women, we look at men as a carton of milk and we see the expiration date come and gone. Its spoiled and now its curdled and its damn near blue cheese and we’re still like, ‘No I can put it on my cereal, it’s still good’, I’ll just stir it around and add some water.’ It’s done. Throw it away. It’s gonna make you sick.
We just have to recognize the obvious, obvious signs.
On a quote that she lives by everyday:
Bad things happen to people everyday, you’re pains not unique. Now what?
Once news of DWade’s newborn baby broke, he confirmed reports that Gabby had already been made aware of the situation long before the news went public, so we’d guess she knew during this interview also. Can’t be too much fun being asked to give relationship advice knowing your own messy situation is about to get put on blast. Cold world.
Do you think Gabby should’ve taken her own advice and kept it moving when she learned that Dwade had fathered a child outside of their relationship? You can watch the full interview and here more of what Gabby had to say HERE.
