Key Wane is Bossip's New Black Kid On The Block

BOSSIP chatted with the man responsible for your favorite song and he plans on making a LOT more.

At this point you have undoubtedly heard one of Key Wane’s littany of bangers and said “Oooh, this my S#!T!”. The Detroit native has been steadily going about the business of crafting joints and jams for the biggest names in music over the past several years. As a member of Big Sean’s (“Beware”, “Guap”, “Memories”) Finally Famous crew, the 23 year old producer has not only given the aforementioned Beyonce some heat (“Partition”, “Mine”), he’s also laced Meek Mill (“Amen”), Drake (“All Me”) and a score of others.

As a pre-teen, Key learned to play piano via a Yamaha keyboard that his mother bought him from a JC Penney catalog. Best investment she probably ever made. Her son would go on to play piano for his church while also making beat tapes to pass out a his high school for local rappers looking to spit hot bars of fire. Upon meeting Sean, KeY began his grooming as a producer with an insatiable desire for perfection. “Nothing I do is ever finished, I can always do more” says, KeY in an assured tone.

With such big hit records under his belt already, it would be easy for KeY Wane to fall back and bask in his riches and accomplishments, however, that ain’t his style. “I’m not going anywhere,” he states, “I’m not here just to make money and bounce. I’m gonna be doin’ this for years”.

Sounds like he got a good head on his shoulders. We can’t wait to hear what he has in-store for the future!
