Candace Cameron Says She Is Happy Being Submissive To Her Husband

Via USAToday

Full House star Candace Cameron Bure is raising eyebrows and stirring up controversy with her beliefs about marriage.

Specifically, in her new book, Balancing It All: My Story of Juggling Priorities and Purpose, the actress/mom/wife says she’s has a “submissive role” to her husband, Valeri Bure.

(Anyone remember Marabel Morgan? She was the author of 1973 book, The Total Woman, which said that keeping your husband happy by “surrendering” to him was the key to a successful marriage. Her advice included greeting him in nothing but Saran Wrap when he came home from work.)

And no, Bure, isn’t talking about Fifty Shades of Grey submissive, although we’re embarrassed to say that’s the first thing that came to mind.

Bure explained to The Huffington Post in an interview on Monday, “The definition I’m using with the word ‘submissive’ is the biblical definition … So, it is meekness, it is not weakness. It is strength under control, it is bridled strength. And that’s what I choose to have in my marriage.”

She added, “I use that word but I feel like it’s taken so strongly. I’m kinda like, ‘Everyone, just calm down.'”

Looks like not even lesbian women are rockin’ with Candace’s theory…

When reporting on the “hot” story on Good Morning America on Wednesday, the morning team got a little uncomfortable.

“Not gonna judge,” said Robin Roberts, putting her hands up in the air.

“Hey Ali, I’m all for submissive,” joked George Stephanopoulos, laughing at the idea of wife Ali Wentworth adopting the idea.

That one jawn on “Blood, Sweat, and Heels” is probably pulling her hair out over this one.
