Jay’s money is so deep and diverse that even if Universal cuts him, no biggie. And from a business perspective, I can understand their concern if he is getting big bucks and never in the office. Plus, it doesn’t foster great morale among colleagues because imagine those staffers who work their *****es off and probably don’t get paid a fraction of what Jay does.

I knew this was going to happen, majority of us have been saying this for the longest. No jokes from this point. A few days ago they reported that a dozen or so Def Jam employees got the axe, these folks have families and this is the holiday season, how would you feel if your boss was using all the promotion money, fired you and took shopping sprees to Paris. Jay has overstepped his bounds, I like him more as an artist than a CEO. He has no empathy, when them folks got layed off cause of his excessive demands he had no comp*****ion, this is not a crab in the bottom of a barrel, they had a job before he got there. He should have held a press conference about this them folks didn’t deserve to get fired. But Def Jam got what came to them that is what they get for hiring him in the first place! If I was one of them EMPLOYEES I would be waiting after work for Jigga, just to have a “talk” or I would “offer” to walk him to his car…Just saying, it is a joke but you get the pic? LOL

Please, I see this all the time. The source might not have been verified, but the CEO of my company recently gave himself a $10 million raise (which the board approved) but our stock has been tanking ever since he got here, it went from $120 per share to $26. Every year he keeps laying off staffers, and my colleagues are doing two and three jobs for the pay of one person.

Oh, and our raises have been shrunk down to 3%, while the execs get $80,000 bonuses. When are we going to stop letting these GREEDY decision-makers treat us this way?

Def Jam has got to be carefull with this situation because in his contract it says that he can take all the artist he signed to the label along with his catalog in a few years. That means Rhiana,Neyo,Fab,Nas,Kanye,The Dream,etc. I’m pretty sure Warner Bros and Sony would take all those artist right about now. lol

This is probaly true. They are offering Jay 10 million. His first deal was 10 million for 3 years which means they are most likely offering more producing money and publishing and he wants more money upfront. And Rihanna, Neyo and others are signed to DEF JAM not JAY-Z. If he leaves they will continue on without him. Nice rumor though it shows how much folks really don’t know about the business. He has broken an artist a year since he signed on with Def Jam and they are not offering him a raise and producing money is great but the only one of those artist tht is big right now is Rihanna and um she really ain’t selling like that.She is more hype than anything. She has barely sold 800,000 copies here so he really ain’t making money off of her like that. So I am interested in what is going to happen

jay brought rihanna ,neyo,dream and co to def jam.he helped them put out three consecutive platnum albums .hemarketed kanyes last two projects .he took the def jam artists on tour and was responsible for def jam having the number one market share for three years in a row.so u bet ur ***** he has a right to make big demands.
