Quote of the Day
Posted by Bossip Staff
UGK has been nominated for a Grammy for their OutKast collaboration “International Players Anthem” and Bun B speaks out:
While this nomination is bittersweet to say the least, I am thankful for the acknowledgment. And as this was a lifelong dream for Chad, it warms my heart to know that he has finally gotten the recognition from the powers that be that his talent, passion and relentless drive for music so rightfully deserved.”

Do you expect someone to hook you up with their agents on a blog? At the very least you need to supply an email address so that YOU can provide more information. I can *****ure you, they will not do it for free.
R.I.P. Chad – I hope you guys win. I really loved that video.
does anyone know how he died?
RIP, Pimp C. It’s a shame that he is finally getting m***** recognition with Player’s Anthem. He really put his heart and soul into what he did.
P.S. I think the radio guy in this interview is so fake, by the way. Bun B starts crying, then he acts all devastated and sh#t and they have to cut to the song. Oh, puh-leaze. I just question the integrity of some of these so-called radio jocks who just want the hype and the most memorable interview.
he was so young. I was thinking heart attack
@ brownbarbie,
The radio guy, aka madd hatter, was not being fake. He was very genuine. Him and pimp c were really good freinds. He’s been a radio personality in houston for about 15 years now, if not longer. I just had to let you know, I’m a houston resident and he actually was crying and very emotional.
STILL KINDA HARD TO BELIEVE
BUT BUN BE DROPIN KNOWLEDGE WHEN HE SPEAKS

1st of all thanks for responding to that stupid azz question cuz i was getting ready to clown!!!!
Marilyn Manson is not crucified for his music and he is on some demonic *****.
It’s too convenient to blame EVERYTHING that’s wrong w/ the world on hip hop and rap.
People need to be more original in their loathing.
co-sign Lacy D.
Hatter, although he can be silly, was definitely a friend of the Pimp.
This is Houston – nothings fake.

i listened to the interview live yesterday and it was very real. hatta has been on the air in H-town for years. he wouldn’t even go the fake emotion route becuz we know him too well here.

did pimp c ever encourage any black youth to go to school? just wondering…
if you ever listen to his music he alway tell these boyz that the dope game is over they need to go to school.
but for some reason that was a stupid ***** question. it not his job to tell your kids to go to school. Should he also remind them to brush their teeth, and to wear their seatbelt, and chew with thier mouth closed
Brown Barbie I have to also let you know as a Houston Resident that Madd Hatta is one of the realest DJ’s you better ask somebody. He himself has released a rap CD and is known as Mista Madd. All the Houston Rappers in the City have a relationship to Madd Hatta and he has worked with so many of the guys from chamillionaire and Paul Wall, Mike Jones, Slim Thug etc. Madd Hatta is definitely close to to Bun B as he was to Pimp C and that is why Bun is there giving Hatta the exclusive FIRST Radio interview and interview period. the Vibe interview was not first. How dare you diss HATTA. with a name like Brown Barbie you might wanna sit yo azz down somewhere.
My boyfriend was really choked up over this. He has been a UGK fan since day 1. I always gravitated more to Bun B, but when I met my man, he put me on more to Pimp C, and I have really grown over these last few years to appreciate him like I wish I had before. RIP Pimp C
R.I.P Pimp C!!!!
I have the utmost respect for this man because what he says is real. Everyone has something to say about his interviews regarding certain people but if you really sit down and listen, he is speaking the truth! He will be missed as well as Hawk and Big Moe…..HOUSTON STAND UP!!!!!!!!!! We lost 3 of our finest this year, please stand united!
~From Houston by way of Detroit
Man Louisiana hurtin’ also. ‘The piece the chain, the gangsta hat, the alligator shoes with the belt to match……Big Percy Mack will come thru Burban bubble gum Blue. Man I loved that *****. RIP Pimp
I’m shocked by how many people are on here from Houston….Big ups to my hometown! And I will co-sign with the others, Madd Hatta (the dj) is a very sincere guy and has been on the radio here for a very long time, he’s a pretty straight forward dude. The city has been mourning quite a bit lately and to lose Pimp C has just made it worse. But we will certainly miss Pimp…RIP
And thanks Bossip for posting this, I missed it yesterday, but looked for it on the radio stations site and couldn’t find it, so thanks for getting this for us!
htown chick
“I’m shocked by how many people are on here from Houston….”
ahem {clears throat}……Dallas too!!!!
I must agree with all of my houston (and Dallas) peeps. Madd Hatta can get on my nerves sometimes, but there ain’t nothing fake about him. That interview was 100% real and he most definitely had a friendship with them. UGK used to come to the radio whenever and just hang out and talk to the people and they were so loved in the H. I truly can’t believe Pimp C is gone. These dudes gave Houston a name and when a UGK song came on, you already knew it was gone be a banger! Pimp C you will truly be missed…R.I.P. we love you
I’m not from Houston,=( (feeling left out)however I was a fan of Pimp C. You know, I’ve read so many respectful comments from people about Pimp C on this site as well as other blogs, but I’ve also read just as many negative ones. And that’s a shame. Listening to the interview with Bun, when he started crying, it broke my heart. I almost couldn’t listen to him. That was his BROTHER. It was also interesting to hear how UGK weren’t even supposed to do “International Players Anthem”, but they did, and it became the biggest song of their career. I especially loved the video when Pimp was at the table, with his hand gestures, and the winter white coat, hat, and gl*****es to match!! He was definitely a character, one I will miss, and that’s real. RIP Pimp C….
