Chris Brown’s legal team is bypassing the small talk and going for it all as they look to get the charges against the star completely dropped:

His lawyers want the charges against the R&B star, 19, dropped. A source said: “He will argue it was a misunderstanding between two young people passionately in love.”

Brown’s lawyers want a special court hearing in Los Angeles next week.

They say the shock photo of Rihanna’s injuries mean a fair trial is impossible.

Meanwhile pop beauty Rihanna, 21, told fans, “I’m doing fine,” on a night out in New York.

She was pictured arriving at Da Silvano restaurant where she enjoyed dinner with pals.

The LAPD has done some of its finest work to date by royally f*cking this case up.  The leaked photo of Rihanna’s beat up (and down) grill has really compromised things to the nth degree.  What kinda person who lives in LA hasn’t seen it somewhere??

More pics below.

And I thought we woul dmake it through the day without this story

  • so-so

    LOVE DOESN’T HURT!!!
    im tired of this story!!

  • Heaven Angel

I agree, charges should be dropped and both should move on with their lives. This story has been one-sided from the start. Everyone is saying we don’t want young girls to think that this is right. Well these young girls also need to be taught that it is not okay to hit a guy as well. What’s wrong with this society! Don’t take side, they both was in wrong!

  • SAME OL SH*T

Well if you are paying a lawyer what do you think they are suppose to do? He’s going to have a defense regardless. As he should.

  • jena4rmthablock

So ova this damn situation! If RiRi want to stay or leave or not testify…so tha F what let that chick live her own life and teach your kids not to look up to no one but GOD!

NOT IF I HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT!!!!!!! BOSS!

  • chaka1

They can’t just dismiss the case when a real crime actually occurred. Also, Chris’s publicist put out a statement from him practically admitting to the whole thing.

  • statim08

“Give him a chance to learn”, that’s a quote from a member here. What a bunch of malarkey. Would Chris have “learned” more had he choked Rihanna to death? Chris is an abuser. Don’t like the label? Too bad, he put it on himself.

  • FAN

I think Chris is going to get a second chance…but what I think is going to happen first he’s going to have to do this big media blitz to tell the story, and how he has changed, and talk to others about how not to hit a woman even if she hits first. It’s a tough road ahead but there is always a light at the end, and he’ll make it through. I hope Chris and Rihanna both have successful careers at the end!!!

  • obamarama09

wtf wth HE SHOULDNT GET THE CHARGES DROPPED WAT KIND OF JUDGE WOULD DO THAT AND THE FRIGGIN JUDGE IS A GURL DOES AMERICA HAVE NO SHAME!!!!!!

  • star

I really would like to know the meaning of an abuser, is it someone who hits somebody else? That seems very simplistic to me.

I dont believe every situation involving this type of assult could be painted with a broad brush which is what everyone is doing. People are saying that a man who does this usually is possessive, controlling, aggressive and jealous and usually starts with verbal and emotional abuse which leads to the physical aggression. Unless CB fits that description, then i dont think he should be labeled an abuser. People need to stop trying to squeeze Rihanna into that role of domestic abuse victim cause perhaps it dosent fit. I havent seen the officialpolice report so i dont know the sequence of events but I’m sure the Da gfelt the pressure to lay soem charges because its a high profile case, the public was clammering for it and since OJ, they feel the pressure do do what the public wants.

I wish TMZ could find the police report and post that so we could put the affidaivt into context. The legal minds on TV say that context, even the picture is important.

  • TheGoodGood

    LOL @ a misunderstanding..

they’re in la-la land.. I hope they have that black female judge, she won’t have it go down in anythin gbut the way it should.. hard time!

  • Big Papa’s Momma

No more Pop and Lock just………

Chris Brown = Mr. Beat Down

No one to blame for this mess, except himself.

  • lollipop77

Rihanna isn’t a victim. I’m over it. Stop trying to make her one.

  • Leabank

Rihanna is as happy as ever! It’s really amazing how the paps could not get a pic of her after the beat down – now she is again every where. Go figure.

for every woman on this site that agrees that CB should get a pass….please come see me for your beat down and bring your daughters too.

  • Black Woman

    I am tired of this.

  • frida

Yes, Chris Brown is young & he did commit a terrible mistake. But, he should be charged because what he did is called assault.
He should serve a little time,(months) then he should be ordered to go to therapy to understand or try to learn why he did this & to prevent it from happening again.
Rianna is also young & she also is making a mistake by sticking with her abuser. Maybe, this being exposed in the media will open up her eyes.
Interesting that people want to give Chris a pass ’cause he’s only 19 yrs old, but hey, then again, he’s a man. Men always get excuses/passes for domestic violence. And, surprisingly, often from woman, like some of the commentators here.
Yes, Chris is young & no he shouldn’t be punished for this for the rest of him life.
But, what he did is very wrong-stop making excuses for him. And, yes, his career will survive.
And, I’m off to have the talk w/my daughter about domestic abuse.
These 2 are role models to alot of young people via their music, so they both need to do the right thing-own up to their mistakes.

    Oh yeah nowwwww…. nowww..hmmm.. I wonder how he’d do in prison…

  • BE

well they have to try…all charges..wow

  • frida

    AT the Truth:
Chris beat the cr_p out of her, I agree w/you that she shouldn’t have hit him with her heels. But, he didn’t seem to be beaten up like her.
Please read these links on documented statistics of violence toward woman by men:

    http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art45047.asp
    And:

    http://www.aidv-usa.com/statistics.htm
    The Human Factor

85-95% of all domestic violence victims are female.

Over 500,00 women are stalked by an intimate partner each year.

5.3 million women are abused each year.

1,232 women are killed each year by an intimate partner.

Domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women.

Women are more likely to be attacked by someone they know rather than by a stranger.
(From the 2nd site-Everyday approx. 3 women are killed by their partner in the U.S. EVERYDAY!

Please let’s not forget the victims of violent crimes committed on woman by a man.
    Stop with the excuses.

  • BK DON

Don’t blame the LAPD for this. They messed up releasing that photo but and that would prejudice a jury against him, but it doesn’t mean a judge would throw the case out. The case would go to trial if Riri testified, with the evidence they have. There’s no trial if she doesn’t testify, so if u want to blame someone, blame her. Obviously she has gotten over it, so everybody else should.

  • Louise

    @ dee

What car have you been in that allows you to remove the keys while the car is in drive? And what does this have to do with tearing down a “black man”? We should be more understanding of a man getting into a fight with his girlfriend because he is black and/or young? Please. CB did this to himself. If she started it, why didn’t he seek medical attention, or give a statement to the police? Why did he call Ri’s assistant to apologize and then issue a statement to the media? Domestic abuse can be charged whether the parties are married or not.

  • yeah ok

last time i check. if chris didn’t want a one-sided story he should have told his side.

  • NYC 2 NJ

its one of many double standards that exist in America. women can hit men, but men can’t hit women. just like how men who sleep around are playas, and women who sleep around are hoes. yea ur right…its unfair…but thats the way we look at things.

  • Nettiepoo

    from the article….
“His lawyers want the charges against the R&B star, 19, dropped. A source said: “He will argue it was a misunderstanding between two young people passionately in love.”

    from me….
WTF… Chris’ legal team will argue WHAT…. oh come on…. so the RiRi pic was to display “what do you call it” the new love look. So now the new thing is head lumps are now the new hickeys…….

  • Kay

My2cents, you don’t have to be in a abusive relationship, with all this strong evil forces going on today nobody is exempt, you don’t know when your love one may go off all of a sudden. Yes I agree with Truth, every body deserve a second chance, than God give you a second chance over and over again, God forgave you, why you Chris haters can’t forgive, which lets me know you just as bad, in God’s eye sight sin is sin whether its fornicating, murder, adultress, lying, stealing. etc. again it like a time bomb out here, and you love ones can go off all of a sudden, don’t they deserve a second chance, i am praying for Chris, God cast down every evil spirit that come’s against him.

  • knottmyhair

    it’ll happen

  • leave-it-be

“”"”"”””’ WTH????? @ THE TRUTH….!!!! SIGN A PETITION???? FOR THE WOMAN BEATER TO GO FREE!!!! EFF BREEZY THE WOMAN BEATER……. EFF RIH RIH TOO IF SHE BACK WITH HIM…… YOU DON;T KNOW THAT SHE HIT HIM FIRST IN THAT CAR, THOSE ARE DAMAGE CONTROL STORIES FUELED BY HIS P.R. PEOPLE…. AND IF SHE DID, A REAL MAN DON’T HIT A WOMAN…. WOULD YOU CONDONE YOUR DAUGHTER GETTING BEAT BY HER MAN WHETHER SHE HIT FIRST OR NOT?????? HE COULD HAVE CALLED THE POLICE, HELD HER HANDS, DID ANYTHING BUT BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF HER!!!! YOU TALK ABOUT WHAT THE MEDIA DID TO MAKE THIS LOOK LIKE IT’S ALLL CHRIS….. WELL, IT IS!!!!! THE MEDIA DIDNT WHIP ON RIH RIH HE DID! WHY DID HE RUN IF SHE HIT HIM FIRST???? IF SHE DID THAT MUCH BEATING ON HIM WITH THE HEEL OF HER SHOES ETC., AS LIGHT SKIN AS HE IS HE WOULD ALSO HAVE HAD WELTS OR BRUISES!!!!!!!! WHERE ARE HIS BRUISES???? NOT EVEN A SCRATCH HE HAD ON HIM….. SO BEFORE YOU START RALLYING AROUND THIS WOMAN BEATER YOU NEED TO INVESTIGATE THE PHYSICAL EVIDENCE WHICH SHE HAD AND HE DIDN’T!!!!!!!***************

  • Bombero

Good. I hope they get all the charges dropped. The case has served its purpose and made abuse a topic of discussion. She has taken him back. So there is no point in pushing the issue. No matter what you may feel-it doesnt matter to her. And you can’t make Chris Brown a Jesus Christ figure. Burning him in court is not going to wash away this issue.

  • asdf

Why do these two have to be poster children for domestic violence? WHy can’t parents teach their kids that it is not right – boy or girl – to put your hands on another person? Society is not fair -a woman should be held just as accoutable as a man for violence. If RIhanna did over react and slap and hit Chris FIRST, she took the argument to the violent level – and she should be held accountable. You can NOT tell a man not to hit a woman, if it is ok for the woman to hit the man. We fought for equal rights, and we should live by them. Anyone that says a man should never hit a woman, is immediately making us 2nd class, helpless citizens. It’s everyone keep your hands to yourselves.

  • JLW

jus give up man…people have their own opinion…they gonna think wat they want…chris brown and rihanna dont really care wat there fans think…duh…if they did they would not b together…i say go on wit ur life these are normal people n things happen…wen they got bac 3getha everyone should have jus left it alone from their..cuz they were showin us dat they dont care wat we think or say they n there own world…stop sayin ooo if it were ur sister or motha or grandma…its not n if it was they got bac 2getha so wat u gonna do or say 2 change dat….HELLO…can i HELLO!!!!!!!

  • asdf

Well – why do fans have input into someone’s personal lives – JLW. Aren’t we fans of their music. I saw continue to make hit songs and put on great tours/concerts – and live your life!! I think they can afford to get any help they need and they both have loving families to push them in the right direction. I don’t see any similiarity between Chris Brown and ike Turner – he was raised with lots of love and spirituality – things that ‘women beaters’ dont have.
