Let me start off by saying this petition won’t change EVERY person mind that dislikes Chris because of the incident, but hopefully it will change SOME people into thinking in a more FAIR way. The media has been unfairly reporting this story. They have been extremely 1-sided. It’s amazing how people don’t want to know what Rihanna did in that car to Chris (which was that she attacked him first, and probably could’ve caused a wreck, or killed someone). It’s amazing how the media doesn’t want to report on Rihanna’s past situations where she’s hit Chris on many occasions. It’s amazing how the media doesn’t want to report on Rihanna’s aggressive past where she’s been in fist fights with her older brother, and smashed a gl***** bottle over her cousin head and split it (those are really good signs that she probably abused Chris as well). But no, *****ody wants to report on that now do they? Let’s blame EVERYTHING on CHRIS (the man). The only thing people want to take out of that incident is that “Chris hit Rihanna”, that’s IT, which is extremely unfair, and not the full truth. Now I don’t agree at all with Chris hitting a woman, but I also don’t agree with her hitting HIM, and how she’s coming out of that incident looking as if she didn’t do NOTHING, and that’s how the media is making it seem, which makes NO sense. She had to do SOMETHING, but people don’t seem to care what she did to him, because in todays society, it seems to be ok for a woman to hit a man without people caring all that much. Let me repeat, in no way do I agree with Chris hitting her, but for people to make it seem like she has no blame in the incident is nonsense.

The most sickening thing about this whole situation is the p*****ion people have to destroy Chris Brown. Here’s a guy, 19, BEFORE the incident, was one of the most (still is by the way), sweet, nicest, loveable, fun human beings people have ever seen and met, and now after this 1 “mistake” he’s made in his career, he’s all-of-a-sudden a monster now? An abuser now? A woman beater? You got to be kidding me. It’s sickening at how the media and everybody else wants to crucify basically a kid, a young man. I am just disgusted at how the american people are treating this young man who’s made basically ONE mistake in his career, given, it’s a pretty big one, but it’s still his first big mistake, and Chris deserves a second chance. Give him a CHANCE to learn from his mistake and come out a better person. That’s what YOU would want wouldn’t you? What if you was Chris’ mother, how would YOU feel about how people are treating your son? Wouldn’t you want people to give your son a second chance?

I think Chris is going to get a second chance…but what I think is going to happen first he’s going to have to do this big media blitz to tell the story, and how he has changed, and talk to others about how not to hit a woman even if she hits first. It’s a tough road ahead but there is always a light at the end, and he’ll make it through. I hope Chris and Rihanna both have successful careers at the end!!!

I really would like to know the meaning of an abuser, is it someone who hits somebody else? That seems very simplistic to me.

I dont believe every situation involving this type of *****ult could be painted with a broad brush which is what everyone is doing. People are saying that a man who does this usually is possessive, controlling, aggressive and jealous and usually starts with verbal and emotional abuse which leads to the physical aggression. Unless CB fits that description, then i dont think he should be labeled an abuser. People need to stop trying to squeeze Rihanna into that role of domestic abuse victim cause perhaps it dosent fit. I havent seen the officialpolice report so i dont know the sequence of events but I’m sure the Da gfelt the pressure to lay soem charges because its a high profile case, the public was clammering for it and since OJ, they feel the pressure do do what the public wants.

I wish TMZ could find the police report and post that so we could put the affidaivt into context. The legal minds on TV say that context, even the picture is important.

I totally agree with your comment. I have two young teenagers in the same age group as Chris Brown. They basically are good guys, my oldest just started to date. Soo far sooo good! Stuff happens between young lovers and the growing pains of teenagers have never before been brought to life as it is now by the media. You would think Chris did kill her by the way he is being treated. There have been worst celebrity fights in the public eye and the media showed favoritism toward them. Who comes to mind is TI, Michael Jackson, Blake and OJ. I am not condoning that a man abuse a women but there are some boundaries women should not cross when provoking a man. It is very easy for folks to point the finger until the ***** happens to them. The media can wreck havoc on a black persons career. Remember he is a black man and according to our society and the media; their ultimate goal is to tear down a black man. It is hard out here to be black but to be a black man too! Whoa! Racism is alive and it never left just because we have a biracial president. First of all they were not married, the police charged Chris with the wrong crime, now they have to back peddle. Domestic Abuse is a term typically used in marital domestic disputes. The fact that Rihanna refuse to become the poster child for domestic dispute has everyone up in arms. That is her decision and it appears everyone is using strong arm tactics to get her to become the face of domestic abuse. She just turn 21 years old and does not have handlers to support her. They both are probably scared and trying to save face. I am sure this is not the first time and they regret that this incident became public. That in itself is enough to prompt change between these two young lovers who have yet to really grow up. Love is blind. Honestly we need to keep our focus on the economy and our own personal lives. There are bigger issues in the world right now and it seems that the media is attempting to divert our attention from tho$e real issues. We all need to stop giving this story energy. Lately it seems we are hearing more reports of domestic abuse by black men. Domestic abuse issues occur with all group in regardless of race. Judicially he is entitled to a break, we may not like it but that is the way it is…..the most he may receive is probation and a slap on the wrist. Rightfully so too because he has no record and has never been convicted of a crime. For all we know Rihanna may have been tripping hard. Imagine yourself driving and someone is acting like a complete fool to the point of killing you both. What would you do in that situation? Allegedly, she pull the keys out of the ignition while he was driving and threw the keys out of the window? WTF! What was Rihanna thinking?

This case isn’t about to be dropped. Why? Because he never would have been charged if they didn’t think they had a case against him. Not to mention the fact that the m***** media is watching this case and it could look back on all parties if it’s allowed to slip through the cracks.

Chris Brown needs to hire some new attorneys because from what I can tell these are not about *****. They must know that his ***** is up the river and they can’t really defend his actions.

Yes, Chris Brown is young & he did commit a terrible mistake. But, he should be charged because what he did is called *****ault.
He should serve a little time,(months) then he should be ordered to go to therapy to understand or try to learn why he did this & to prevent it from happening again.
Rianna is also young & she also is making a mistake by sticking with her abuser. Maybe, this being exposed in the media will open up her eyes.
Interesting that people want to give Chris a p***** ’cause he’s only 19 yrs old, but hey, then again, he’s a man. Men always get excuses/p*****es for domestic violence. And, surprisingly, often from woman, like some of the commentators here.
Yes, Chris is young & no he shouldn’t be punished for this for the rest of him life.
But, what he did is very wrong-stop making excuses for him. And, yes, his career will survive.
And, I’m off to have the talk w/my daughter about domestic abuse.
These 2 are role models to alot of young people via their music, so they both need to do the right thing-own up to their mistakes.

Don’t blame the LAPD for this. They messed up releasing that photo but and that would prejudice a jury against him, but it doesn’t mean a judge would throw the case out. The case would go to trial if Riri testified, with the evidence they have. There’s no trial if she doesn’t testify, so if u want to blame someone, blame her. Obviously she has gotten over it, so everybody else should.

No matter what you may feel-it doesnt matter to her. And you can’t make Chris Brown a Jesus Christ figure. Burning him in court is not going to wash away this issue.

Why do these two have to be poster children for domestic violence? WHy can’t parents teach their kids that it is not right – boy or girl – to put your hands on another person? Society is not fair -a woman should be held just as accoutable as a man for violence. If RIhanna did over react and slap and hit Chris FIRST, she took the argument to the violent level – and she should be held accountable. You can NOT tell a man not to hit a woman, if it is ok for the woman to hit the man. We fought for equal rights, and we should live by them. Well – why do fans have input into someone’s personal lives – JLW. Aren’t we fans of their music. I saw continue to make hit songs and put on great tours/concerts – and live your life!! I think they can afford to get any help they need and they both have loving families to push them in the right direction. I don’t see any similiarity between Chris Brown and ike Turner – he was raised with lots of love and spirituality – things that ‘women beaters’ dont have.
