Someone always has something negative to say… Steve McQueen and Brad Pitt’s 12 Years a Slave took home the 2014 Oscar’s top honor Sunday night, but some media outlets just couldn’t get with times and bask in the positive light. The News-Gazette, based out of Champaign, IL tried to make a play on words involving the heralded film’s subject matter and ended up eating crow.

Iggy Azalea Added To Performance Lineup At 2014 mtvU Woodie Awards
MTV’s 24-hour college-focused network, mtvU, has announced that Iggy Azalea will join a packed performance lineup that includes a bevy of rising up and comers at the 2014 mtvU Woodie Awards. This year’s Woodie Awards ceremony will take place at SXSW in Austin, Texas, where the Australian rap star will rock the stage along with Childish Gambino and others. Azalea, who is up for a “Best Video Woodie” this year, will be performing her latest single “Fancy” alongside Charli XCX on Thursday, March 13. The track will appear on Azalea’s proper debut album, The New Classic, which drops next month. The Island Def Jam artist has been prepping her first LP for quite some time, but after some label snafus the record will finally see daylight.

NeNe Leakes And Billy Dee Williams Confirmed For “Dancing With The Stars” Season 18 Cast
Last week, rumors were swirling that Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes would be joining the new season of Dancing With The Stars, and now that the big reveal date has come, it has been confirmed that not only will Leakes join the cast, but acting legend Billy Dee Williams will also join the cast for season 18. Leakes as well as Williams joined the rest of the new cast on Good Morning America this morning to be revealed to the world, and Williams called his upcoming time on the show, “my last hurrah.” Let’s hope not. In an interview with USA Today, Leakes said that she’s excited to do the show, and is hoping to drop the pounds she put on while dealing with her health issues (that pulmonary embolism). “Being sick made me gain some weight. So I’m hoping this will help me lose 20 pounds.” However, Leakes says she’s feeling much better, and though there will be doctors on set who can help her in case she feels under the weather, she’s ready to hit the dance floor…
