Eve recently commented on the death of Kanye West’s mother, Dr. Donda West:

“We live in a society of quick fixes. The cost is your life. Hopefully, this will make people think more.”

  • maurice

    first!

  • maurice

This is true but yet still kind of harsh… I think she needs to be more sensitive to the whole West family.

  • C.Ann-Marie

I totally agree with Maurice, she does not have a right to judge anyone. Maybe, she should have her dog paws surgically removed.

  • anonymous

It’s the harsh reality of the situation. I agree that she should have been more sensitive.

The public needs to be more aware of the possible negative consequences of cosmetic surgery. Too often we are fed only the positive aspects. Knowlegde is power!

  • Crack

    Damn

  • Umm

For some, the outcome justifies the risk in their mind. I doubt anyone that actually thought they were going to die having elective surgery actually went through with it.

  • anonymous

Umm, that is so true. We often live in the moment.

  • Swami

Eve can act as though she is exempt from judgment with regards to plastic surgery, but she was on a waiting list to get breast implants several years ago. I wonder why she never went through with the procedure, because she needs them.

If you look at Eve’s face when she was first signed to Aftermath and look at her now, she looks different.

People can lie and say, “I have a trainer, that’s why I look different.” I think it’s more to the difference in her appearance than a trainer.

I agree with Ann Marie. Eve needs to see Dr. Tattoff for some laser tattoo removal with the quickness.

  • Candy Barr

So many television shows — not entertainment shows in which most watch — have done things on the dangers of having that surgery. I agree with Eve. I also get tired of all these showbiz mothers who act as if they are the ones in the spotlight. She shouldn’t have had the surgery, anyway . . . She had her own successful career. Plus, she was a beautiful woman. That is why it was so sad.

  • nahnah

    wells, she’s right!

how else was she s’pose to say it?

  • PinkPushy

    Damn she kinda anal.

  • bobshfdfg

good saying. Many celebs are talking about this on a celebrity and millionaire dating site named “Searching Millionaire. com”.

  • It’s whateva

I’m sure she didn’t mean it like that but what other way is there to say it. It’s so true. Words can’t always come out sweet and sincere…but I’m sure she didn’t mean to be so harsh about it.

  • Mona

a quick fix does not always equal death. true, people need to be aware of the consequenes of any surgery, do their homework, and weigh their choices. But that comment was rude especially so soon after her death. She makes it sound like donda was being completly vain in her attempt…when actually she may have been looking to change something that had long pained her. And she has a right to pursue happiness..sorry everyone doesn’t have it naturallu like eve.

  • Lili

She didn’t need to phrase it that way, especially since I’m suuuuuuuuuuuuure she’s probably had something done.

  • mzlynbkny

Some things are better left unsaid!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ana

wow. I REALLY hope this statement was taken out of context or just put together to make it seem really harsh.

regardless of the truth of the statement it could have been said in a way less discordant and more respectful to the West family.

  • Kristyn Bryson

Wow, drunk driving that could cost people their lives. Hopefully she will think before she gets in a car drunk.

  • melinda

eve, now who is she to be commenting on anyone she even uses a a white hollyweird hairdresser, the qote probably came from someone who couldnt get a real star to comment, because someone with class and tact just would have kept their mouth shut knowing the media would take it out of context. also check out her once very saggy titts and look at that much tighter face .m

  • leidy

why is it that we often view the truth as harsh? what she said is so true. and i don’t think she should be attacked. she didn’t say anything mean, anal, or hateful. it’s not as if she said “that’s what she got”. hopefully this will make people thing more before they go under the knife.

if that’s the case your comments of attack on her are just as bad as the one you say that she made.

    aye dios mio. total idiots.

  • Full Eve Quote

    FYI–

Donda West passed away last month (Nov07) from possible complications following plastic surgery, and Kanye’s friend Eve wants the sad event to serve as a reminder of the potential dangers such procedures present. She says, “We live in a society of quick fixes. The cost is your life.Hopefully, this will make people think more.” When she heard the news of Donda’s death, Eve immediately sent her condolences via email to Kanye, but she wants to pass on her sympathies in person. She adds, “I sent him an email, but I’m sure he got a million and one emails.I want to give him my hugs and blessings.”

  • cindy

    eve got porcelain veneers.

    who she fooling?

so if her cosmetic dentist drugged her up too much and she died, that would be the same damn thing, yeah?

  • Simply Ecstasy

Somebody should have told her that “quick weaves” are included in that “quick fix” comment of hers. Eve will be on here looking for her hair line like Vivica Fox in a few more lace fronts.

  • Shootingstar

Somebody should have also told her that slathering on the wrong color “Studio Fix” is also included in her “quick fix” comment.

Eve needs to shut the hell up.

  • gina

I think people purposely post the worse parts of interviews to cause contravesy. Her wors we just taken out of context. Eve has obviously done a liile something since her Ruff Rider DMX days, but who doesn’t in hollywood? It was just an unfortunate turn of events wit Ms. West. Hopefully this will wake a few people up to their vanity levels.

  • jackie baby

Eve needs to shut her lesbo ass up. Some plastic surgery would work wonders for her.

  • kai

She was wrong for that. No one thinks they will live forever, but who wants to die? Would she be the least bit upset if she contracted Hepatitis C from her tats? Hmmm! Its not that simple EVIE..

  • kai

Mmmm! After a second glance at those big nipple teardrop titties of hers, I might add she could use a lift.

  • Beast

@RICHIE, YOU KNOW THAT THE PEOPLE ON HERE AREN’T GOING TO READ THE ARTICLE, THEY ARE TOO QUICK TO TYPE SOMETHING IGNORANT TO SAY ABOUT EVE… ANYONE WHO POST AFTER YOU, THAT SAYS ANYTHING IGNORANT, AFTER YOU LEFT UP EXACTLY WHAT SHE SAID, YET STILL WANTS TO SAY SOMETHING NEGATIVE, SHOWS MORE ABOUT WHO THEY ARE AS A PERSON…

  • Just Saying

People should not listen to this “fake heifer”, look at all the work she’s had done and her Plantium Blonde Wigs, look at her lips.

Dr. West did NOT go in for vanity in the sense that she was adding anything, she went in to reduce areas that are hard to reduce at 58. She lived and loved herself for 58 years. I know one thing she didn’t wear Platinum Blonde Wigs, she was a proud Black Women, and again her surgeries weren’t to look White like Eve tries to do. I hope Kanye makes her wish she never spoke up when she knows she’s high. Get this bi*tch Kanye.

  • Beast

    @RICHIE, SEE I TOLD YOU….^^^^^^^^

  • wonkwonk

Mona missed the audio. Ms. West was doing what so many celebs and pseudo celebs do – going overboard, and its a shame because she was just where most women of her age would want to be.

  • True Tarheel

Hmmm…I think drinking and driving is more risky than surgery which is generally safe.

Not only did Eve risk her life, but she also risked the lives of innocent drivers and pedestrians…don’t think she is one to comment on other people’s choices.

  • lee

ohhhh, she should have used her “inside voice”….

  • Ty

Dang Eve…Is she still salty about that Kanye Line from 2004:

Hair so long that look like weave

Then she got it all cut off

    Now she look like EVE.

Get over it Eve..haha..She was speaking the truth but I still have the feeling of, “TOO SOON!” It is a little to soon to be so harsh.

  • shesofine

It’s not what you say but how you say it….. I think she meant well with what she’s saying…. you know just to serve as a reminder of the risks involved with any kind of surgery… but it may have come off as kind of brash to some people

  • dayg715

her face needs a quick fix.

  • kna

I sure hope she didn’t say this to Kanye.

  • Just Saying

Ok many are missing the point, I don’t care how sympathetic Eve seemed after saying the comment. If you had surgery, how can you talk about someone else getting surgery? Kabeesh? Does she think that would create doubt in peoples minds as to if she’s had surgery? PLEASE.

  • YOU JERKS!!!!

SOME OF YOU ARE A BUNCH OF INSENSITIVE JERKS THAT IT SICKENS ME. DEATH IS INEVITABLE WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE ONE DAY. MRS. WEST DEATH IN MY OPINION WAS NOT COMMON. I’M PRETTY SURE WE KNOW ARE HAVE SEEN PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD COSMETIC SURGERY, BUT HOW MANY PEOPLE DO WE HEAR ABOUT THAT HAS ACTUALLY DIED. I’M SURE IN ADDITION TO KANYE’S MOTHER OTHERS HAD DIED DURING OR AFTER CURGERY, BUT IT’S NOT THAT COMMON. MRS. WEST TOOK A CHANCE TO ENHANCE HER BEAUTY AND NOW IT’S HER FAULT. THERE WERE OTHER HEALTH COMPLICATIONS, SO WE REALLY CAN’T EVEN SAY THAT IS WAS THE SURGERY.

  • YOU JERKS!!!!

SURGERY. AND NOW IT’S HER FAULT?

  • memchee

kinda rude to make such comments after an unexpected loss such as the west family is enduring.

  • yes

    nahnah

    wells, she’s right!

how else was she s’pose to say it?

    exactly *shrugs* lol

  • http://mrswindycity.blogspot.com Mrswindycity

I hope she was misquoted or said this after she offered her condolences. You know how the media can be with twisting words. But if she really did say it like this… damn she can’t be talking about anyone with DUI’s. she could have killed someone

    mrswindycity.blogspot.com

  • Chris

I understand what she is saying about how you have to take all the possibilties into consideration, but it does sound kinda rough how it is put, but knowing how media cuts stuff to sound a certain way, she probally did say something before/after that part to make it sound more sensitive, I would like to hear the whole statement.

  • Melissa

People always get mad at the truth.

  • Kigali

I dont think what she said was that harsh. Obviously she wouldnt say it directly to Kanye because that would be entirely inapropriate. Everyone needs to hear it though. There are risks with all surgery but people will come down on cosmetic surgery because it is just that- cosmetic.

  • think quick

Damn, how about a RIP? She got nerve considering she’s a coke head.

  • Unkle Kracka

Yeah, but shes a live koke head, heh, heh. Sides, shes a former stripper who turnd her life aroun an became a good one, aint her fault that that dumda west didnt listen to her doctor, heh, heh

  • http://www.myspace.com/pazjon1 Hey Hey

Her comment could have been taken out of context.

Do u really think she those words ONLY!!!

Or was an explanation somewhere in between.

    get the whole story first!

  • DDub

One line? I’m sure she was taken out of context.

  • N-Qui-Sa-Tive

Being that she is in the public eye and she is around the same genre as Kanye, she should have chose her words more carefully. You never know when you might need someone. You might not know how he or his family might respond to that comment. Don’t burn a bridge.

  • SUPERstarshine

    I’m with #5 CRACK… Damn

  • http://deleted sophie123564

    sad.

  • Swami

The point that those of us are making who find Eve’s comments contradictory is that Eve was extremely flat chested with saggy boobs probably because she never wore a bra. Look at the picture of her attached to this article and tell me if her chest looks larger than it was before.

Eve also had a fat round face and a wide nose, now she mysteriously had bone structure and a narrow nose. Eve’s teeth are different now than what she had when she started out. Physically, she looks completely different, head-to-toe. All we are saying, and I may stand corrected, is that people who live in glass houses should not throw stones.

This chick was speeding in a Maserati, driving under the influence. Fortunately, she crashed into a center divider and not someone’s mother, father, sister, brother or child.

We all have the right to speak freely, but in Eve’s case, a simple, “My prayers go out to the West family” would have been sufficient.

  • MURDA

well sh!t she’s right. cosmetic surgeons dont advise you to have plastic surgery like lipo and all that after the age of 50. facial features, they’ll be a little more lenient on. plus she had a heart condition on top of all that. sorry but ms west was doomed from the get-go.

  • Mrs

The sad thing is it WONT change a thing. People have known the chances they take when going under the knife but the plastic population is growning at a ridiculous.

Poor K losing his mum in vain

  • Mrs

@ a ridiculous rate! Need a coffee morning peeps

  • RocCity

    E-V-E….Raw and to the point!

On that note, I’m feeling how Remy Ma was gettin at Lil Kim for doin all that mess to her body.

  • AND…

    Swami

Eve can act as though she is exempt from judgment with regards to plastic surgery, but she was on a waiting list to get breast implants several years ago. I wonder why she never went through with the procedure, because she needs them.

Statements like this ^^^^are the reason so many women/girls feel bad about their bodies and go under the knife. And ppl actually wonder why…

  • samira

Perhaps she should have waited before making such an “emotionless” comment.

I know that probably isn’t a word, but you get it…right?

  • The Dollar

The comment was not harsh at all. That was the most responsible thing to say, like it is. The problem with our black community is we want to sugar coat the harsh realities of the actions taken by our stars. Stars do mess up too, they are just as human as we are. So if they do, let it be said. It’s no disrespect to the family at all. The family itself knows and they should be in the forefront discouraging black women and other women of all races not to follow Donde’s path. Don’t give yourself excuses to create reasons to have plastic surgery.

  • AND…

I don’t see anything wrong with what eve said. It’s true. We live in a society of instant gratification. No one wants to wait for their stuff. We want it now and that is apart of our demise. Don’t want to go to work and earn the money cuz that will take to long they just do sell drugs or strip. Don’t want to go through four years of school so they drop out and get a hustle or work some minimal wage job and get stuck. Every body has insecurities about their body, that’s normal. Why everybody wants to have surgery to change things that don’t really need to be changed IDK. As Kanye said “the prettiest ppl do the ugliest things.”

  • DROCK

YEA EVE…MAYBE YOU WILL “THINK” TWICE BEFORE U DRINK AND TRY TO DRIVE YOUR MAZARATAY…

  • What?

Well isn’t she one to talk fresh off a DUI? What if the price she paid for driving while under the influence would have been her life?

She should have just kept her dkskr shut, lol. Her opinion didn’t change the situation or the outcome. *

*What if she would have gone into a coma while getting those horse teeth fixed

*Or had a chronic allergic reaction to her hair extensions?

*Or contracted herpes or HIV in her days of promiscuity?

You reap what you sew (no pun intended)

    Tranny…

  • Soul Cry

Eve was right. There is a cost to everything we do. Not always is it death of the physical form, but of the spirit.

    Truth hurts

  • Soul Cry

It does not sound so harsh when you read the whole article:

“Rapper EVE hopes the tragic death of KANYE WEST’s mother just a day after she had cosmetic surgery will discourage others from going under the knife.

^^^^^^^^^^^ exactly. a person RECENTLY convicted of drunk driving is trying to wax poet about the value of life

  • Sun Goddess

Eve looks like she had cosmetic surgery herself. Anyway, she’s right, but I think she needs to show more tact and respect for Kanye’s lost. She needs to shut the hell up.

  • Sun Goddess

I concur with the posts that called Eve out for drunk driving! Once again, she needs to shut the hell up!!

  • Sun Goddess

I’m not saying Eve needs plastic surgery, even though it seems like she has had some. I am saying Eve needs to show more tact and class before she opens her damn mouth.

  • What?

I’m so tired of these celebs talking out of their asses…wealth does not mean education or being well informed.

They get on my nerves…what if she decided to get those mutt paws removed from her bird chest and has some type of freak accident?

  • AND…

    @justmoi

Exactly and when the do go under the knife dog them out some more about who they are either a hypocrite or how ugly they are now b/c of it. There are sooo many things our ppl didn’t use to do b/c of our values, moral, and faith. Now it seems we are trying just too damn hard to keep up with the Jones’.

True that. I know it made me change my mind on that subject.

  • It’sREALLYme

Whether she meant to be harsh or not, it is a sad and sometimes true statement. What I think is HORRIBLE, is the fact that these hollywood women and men, are seen a role models and they are people young women and men want to look like… and they get this added, and this taken up and removed.. just because they can….

  • Just a thought….

I think Eve could had and should had been a little more sensitive with her remarks. I bet she wouldn’t say that to Kanye’s face.

  • tinyt

Extremely insensitive and inappropriate. As far as telling the “truth” neither Eve nor her defenders know the truth about Dr. West and what her health concerns and mentality, and what years of effort she had put into weight reduction. How can you criticize someone for seeking an “instant fix” when you don’t know how they have tried non-surgical “fixes” for years? The lack of sympathy shown by some here is disturbing. There is a certain minimum level of decency and respect that should be observed. I have never been to a funeral or been informed of the death of a perfect person. Everyone who has died has made mistakes in their life and done things that could be criticized, but it never occured to me that their death was the appropriate time and place to express those sentiments.

Perhaps Eve and all the others condemning Dr. West should instead use the occasion to look at their own lives and their own faults and their frailities, rather than condemn the dead. We are all imperfect persons and we always will be. Think about that before condemning the dead.

  • mydixiewrecked

I agree with Eve to a point. But the tone of what she said considering the outcome of this particular surgery she may have wanted to word her statement slightly more sensitively. But sometimes the harsh truth is what people need to hear.

  • NolaD

I know Eve not talking about nobody, looking like a white women!

  • Observatrice

Definitely agree, but Eve needs to be more careful with her words. She should know being in the spotlight she would be misquoted. The best defense is always to be tactful.

“Eve can act as though she is exempt from judgment with regards to plastic surgery, but she was on a waiting list to get breast implants several years ago. I wonder why she never went through with the procedure, because she needs them.”

Statements like this ^^^^are the reason so many women/girls feel bad about their bodies and go under the knife. And ppl actually wonder why…

I don’t recall saying you were “responsible” for anything. Eve is an adult and she makes her own decisions just like Dr. West. Yet everybody is feeling bad for her b/c she died (nothing wrong with that) but aren’t looking at the big picture. Dr. West was educated, loved, and didn’t want for anything. The reasons she went under the knife are the same reasons Eve did (if that’s true) ppl saying why is everybody having plastic surgery in the first breath and you need breast implants for your flat, saggy tits in the next. Not to mention the pressure of being in the public eye. Just like Lil’ Kim and V. Foxx which neither of them (in my opinion) needed plastic surgery but low and behold I’m sure that there were ppl like you around them putting a spot light on their imperfections to make themselves feel better or get a good laugh.

  • AND…

Something else that I’ve realized is that no matter how much good a person is doing ppl want to bring up their past to try to discredit them. What does her DUI have to do with this topic? Like most black folks how have tried to do something positive there are those that wanna say ” you need to stfu you did this, and you did that” My question is what have you done? So b/c someone has made mistakes/bad decisions (which everyone has) they are no longer good enough to have an opinion or voice it freely? SIKE!!! Just like Oprah and Bill Cosby (to name a couple). Despite all the good they have done and continue to do. It’s not enough and ppl want to direct negative attention to any mistakes that they have made or their personal lifestyles instead of focusing on the good they are doing. Another reason our race is so far behind…

THATS WHY ITS RELEVANT!!! and besides what real good has she done? Made some bs albums……MAYBE I MISSED SOMETHING?

  • MarvinGaye Is Da Greatest

Bottom Line is there is nothing wrong with plastic surgery as a tool to better your appearance. You need to be realistic when doing any procedure cuz any good doctor will tell you IT’S NOT A QUICK FIX merely a means to rid yourself of what makes you self concious.

My little sister had her nose done not to rid herself of her afrocentric features but to enhance the symmetry of her face in pictures {she’s a model} for that I see nothing wrong.

But, if her attempt was to come out with a European looking nose like: Lil Kim or Michael Jackson then I’d have to say she was crazy.

As long as the plastic surgery is done tastefully I see nothing wrong with it.

Kanye’s mom was trying to do too much at one time!!!
