Long before she was a flawless Academy Award winner, Lupita was a soap star. On Kenyan MTV show Shuga, playing Ayira. And it was pretty raunchy. And the show was used to raise awareness of HIV and Aids when her character feared she had contracted the disease. The soap was actually a hit and was broadcast across 40 African countries.
