I don’t care what you all think this is the best video I’ve seen in a long time. One of the most creative hip hop videos hands down. That said, I don’t think those Spelman girls goin’ like that P allowed all that language and abuse of black women.
After watching this

this video was pretty creative…the first couple seconds alone were like some wierd comical artwork
but everything after that got kinda repetitive

I’ve got no idea what he’s trying to say in this video. I think he’s just trying to spark controversy and generate publicity for his music and this is a way. It’s a failure. It’s unimaginative, unconnected to the music, and extremely dated and corny. That’s actually 4 strikes. Time to sit down P, it’s a wrap.
I don’t really see any real reason for this video. Master P has been putting out pointless videos for years, and now he wants to try to make a point….a point that just went over my head. Anyway, I guess he has to do what he has to do to stay in the limelight….too bad he couldn’t find a better idea.
I don’t get what’s so hard to understand about this video. There are a few meanings.
One is that by acting out stereotypes we’ve essentially replaced the need for the klan by degrading ourselves. The other is that we have let white business owners essentially take over and dictate our entertainment. This is especially unsettling to someone like p who made is fortune off of running an independent label in a way that would be unheard of now that the industry got raped by the majors and an indie is really just an imprint.
Finally, the end of the video should not really be all that confusing. Black people who challenge white superiority have historically been lynched in one way or another.
It’s not all that difficult a concept to grasp. While it’s not the best video out at least it has a little more going on than bull*****.
Another thing. With the references to the Dre videos, the idea was that we’re so used to seeing images of black men degrading black women in videos that it doesn’t raise any flags. When you see one of those klan guys do it you then see it for what it really is – which is offensive and degrading to black women. The point is that the degradation of black women should always be looked at as offensive to all black people regardless of who the perpetrator is.
Some of you might need to read up on your Malcolm X to understand some of the imagery here. It might be executed in a ham fisted way but the message is no less valid.
New Orleans has so many gifted rappers with a whole lot to say that need to be said but seem to be getting block from the powers dat be whats happening homey its bout that time to reach out to your city in a real way.

I think its about time to stop saying to those who critique this video that they’re missing the intended message. That isn’t it. It’s awfully hard to miss the message since he’s hitting us over the head with it. But when you do it so ineptly it’s counter productive. Do you really think that criticism and condemnation of rap is something new? Rap has been condemned from it’s inception by the left and the right, by politicians and the clergy. Aint nothing P can say that aint been said before. It’s funny that you think attacking rap and blaming it for every social ill imaginable is something new. Yes we already have heard that rappers invented violence, guns, alcohol, exploitation of women and apparently now basketball as well. Yeah right. It’s funny that actually its rappers holding up the mirror to society. The same society that has glorified violence for ever, now decides that violent imagery in rap is to be condemned. Actually violent images have been welcome from James Cagney in Public Enemy to James Gandolfini in The Sopranos.
