From Compton to the Hollyweird hills…
Venus Williams Sells Hollywood Home For $1.7 Million
Tennis star Venus Williams is no stranger to winning, having racked up more than 40 championship victories over the years. However, she recently sold a post-and-beam residence in the Hollywood Hills West neighborhood of Los Angeles for a loss.
Originally offered for $1.799 million in January, the 1955 midcentury modern home changed hands this past week for $1.7 million—$200,000 less than what the 33-year-old tennis pro paid for it in 2005, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Set on a hillside overlooking Nichols Canyon, the athlete’s abode has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a fireplace. Measuring a little over 1,500 square feet in size, the open floor plan has classic midcentury features, including exposed beams and rows of floor-to-ceiling glass that frame views of the mountains beyond.
Outside, the nearly half-acre grounds contain a small patch of grass, a pool and a long deck area that stretches out over the canyon below.
