Racist Scientist has Black DNA

Dr. James Watson, the scientist who claims that whites have superior intelligence over blacks, in fact has 16 percent more black African DNA than the average white person:
A Nobel Prize-winning scientist who provoked a public outcry by claiming black Africans were less intelligent than whites has a DNA profile with up to 16 times more genes of black origin than the average white European.
An analysis of the genome of James Watson showed that 16 percent of his genes were likely to have come from a black ancestor of African descent. By contrast, most people of European descent would have no more than 1 percent.
We wonder what his old ugly ass has to say to that.

I am glad this came out! I am a graduate student in the sciences (working on my doctorate) and this guy is the guy who discovered the structure of DNA. That doesn’t mean that his word is GOLD or anything but the man is a legend in my field and IS very influential. I think this is one of the best things that could have ever happened to his wrinkled *****. Seriously.

What people fail to realize is that many, if not most things we use today, were created by blacks. The first real mathematician and scientist were black men. The only reason why there may be a hint of truth to the scientists research is not because racial superiority, it’s because of opportunity in my opinion. If we hadn’t been surpressed for so long and if they allowed our ancestors to be educated, or even now, if they put half of the amount of money into a school of minorities that they do into a school with non-minorities, then we probably would be better off. But no one cared to teach us, no one cares to better our education now. So in my opinion, his research is null and void. Because it wasn’t a fair competition.
If a race consistently scores lower on test than others, if they are wholly absent from scientic fields of medicine, engineering and such but over-represented in the so called easy social fields of social work, sociology,psy. edu, music and sports. If they fill up the prison system drop out of school, then scientist began to think there is a link to that kind of behaviour and their racial group because why do some many folks of a particular race act that way. People who can think simply don’t and excel in fields that require using your brains and intellect.
We cannot continue to talk about what we did in the past when everything we do now puts a lie to those achievements. If we were so great then we still should be now instead of honouring ignorance and stupidity like we do.

Oh, and I just wanted to let you know that currently slaying ‘em on the London stage in Shakespeare’s Othello at the Donmar Theatre is one Mr. Chiwetel Ejiofor, the son of Nigerians. (You may have seen him in Dirty Pretty Things, Kinky Boots, American Gangster, etc).
I have a paper on my lap as I type and one critic’s opening comments note that Chiwetel “achieves something extraordinary and historic” in his portrayal of this character.
Another comments, ” Mr. Ejiofor speaks verse with that misleading effortlessness that only the very best actors can accomplish”.
I will definitely try to get along and watch this piece of history in the making before this production wraps up in February ‘08. It’s all over the papers that tickets priced at £29.00 (around $58.00) are being sold on Ebay for £2,000!

These scientist know a lot and are making new discoveries at an incredible rate, but don’t know half of what they want you to believe they do. Read between the lines people and concentrate on the FACTS only, because they can be just as fickle as any fashion designer.
2. The article quoted is worthless. I’m no expert in genetics, but I do know humans share something like 98% of our genes with chimpanzee. Even creatures as remote as yeast cells have around 70% (I maybe wrong on this figure) of the same genes, with all animals sharing a higher percentage. Talk of 16% of genes from an African ancestor a nonsense without a proper breakdown of the findings.
Paul Mooney just finished talking about that on his new stand up:Know Your History.

I learned in school that the Chinese teach their children in history cl***** that the first Chinese were Black.
These early Chinese were not from African but like the Aborigines a separate strain of the “Negroid race” They used that to explain the very dark outer region Chinese.
In Russia, in the Cacaus hills there were early Black Russian settlements.
If the name Cacaus sound familiar it’s because that is where the name “Caucasian” comes from, as named by a German scientist, who wanted a name for the master race, but he later found out on a trip there that the Cacaus hills were Black settlements, so in Russia a “Caucasian” is a Black person from that region.
In Latin America you can be Black but with straight hair and you will be considered White.
If you are a Black person from The Middle East, Russia, Eastern Europe or anywhere that’s not Sub-Saharan Africa you are considered officially White in America.
Peter Ustinov was the first Black(16%)to win an Oscar.
@ somesensefinally…don’t go stereotyping black people. all black people aren’t stupid. i am a teacher in a majority black school and i must admit, my “trouble” and “low” students are black. but this stems from how they are brought up and how their parents discipline them. most don’t. my smartest students are from nigeria. but they have strict parents. it all depends on how you are raised. a lot of the parents are ignorant and don’t see education as a way out for their children. i must say that i am disappointed that at how blacks are portrayed and stereotyped.

lol I’m late on commenting but here is my two cents…..
Those who keep saying the man is telling the truth due to lower test scores and the number of black men in prison and such are so off.
Africans want to go to school but since the World Bank and the IMF are ripping these countries off, most of these children do not have a chance to go to school. I have friends in college who are studying to be doctors, immunologists, scientist, and they’re all Africans. If given an equal chance, blacks will and do succeed.
Also, test scores do not determine how smart you are. I did poorly on my SAT but graduated from college with a 3.5 gpa and got into one of the best colleges in the UK. Students who are great at art, the humanities, music, and such might do poorly on these tests but it is not because they are dumb or do not study, the areas they are being tested on are not their strongest points.
But I agree a whole lot with NahNah, M-Daddy, and Dee….blacks do not receive recognition for their contributions to society and we have made major contributions.

homegirl – You get real and read the article properly. Dr Watson is an expert in genetics but did not “publish” the article in the link. I have a limited understanding of genetics but you have NO understanding. Differences between individuals, “races” and species are decided by a minute amount of genes. All humans share the vast majority of our genes (as we do with chimpanzees). THIS IS A FACT any geneticist, Dr Watson included, will tell you. Saying 16% of his genes may have come from an African ancestor is not the same as saying 16% of his genes are “African genes” (which that vague article does not get across). Besides since you now blindly trust his opinion over what you think he might of published (which isn’t in that article), do you also trust his opinion when he says Africans are inherently less intelligent? Don’t accept what anyone says because of who they are and learn to think for yourself.

I agree with “Macon”. More blacks are needed in science fields. What’s really sad is that Watson made some of the biggest biological findings. Some people are going to take is word as the gospel albeit he retracted his statement. As a senior biology major, this was one of the first scientists I was expercted to be familiar with.
