After Obama made a comment about his bowling game being “”it was like the Special Olympics or something” on The Tonight Show, some Special Olympic bowlers rather than trying to go hard at him are offering tips:

President Obama joked Thursday that his bowling ability was suitable for the Special Olympics, a comment for which he later apologized.

But one Special Olympics bowler has a few tips for the president on how to improve his score.

Tim Maloney, a 38-year-old with Down Syndrome said the president needs to practice more if he wants to bring his recent score of 129 anywhere close to Maloney’s average of 165.

“Focus, take his time, and relax” were the simple-but-effective tips Maloney offered the president in a phone interview Friday with FOXNews.com from his home in suburban Milwaukee. “Keep your eyes on the alley.”

Maloney also competes in basketball, golf and track and field. In 2007, he won the gold in the 800-meter speed walk and a silver in the 400 meter speed walk at the international Special Olympics in China.

But Maloney said he enjoys bowling most, because “I stay around my dad and my friends and loved ones.”

Maloney comes from a bowling family. His father, Larry Maloney, said he bowls a 190; his mother, Nancy bowls a 160; and his sister, Shawn, who also competes in the Special Olympics, bowls a 125.

Obama bowled 37 on the campaign trail last year, drawing hoots of derision from supporters and detractors alike.

Appearing on “The Tonight Show,” the president told Leno he’d been practicing at the White House’s bowling alley but wasn’t happy with his score of 129. Then he rolled a gutter ball by quipping: “It was like the Special Olympics or something.”

On his way back to Washington on Air Force One, Obama called the chairman of the Special Olympics, Tim Shriver, to say he was sorry — even before the taped episode of the “Tonight Show” aired late Thursday night.

You know those shady Obama haters are having a political orgy with this one. Discuss….

  • About it

    First!!

  • About it

Pres. Obama forgot the first rule of comedy:
children, animals, disabled are off limits

  • Stomp Like an Elephant

I’m not looking forward to what people are going to say about this…

  • Darth H8ter

It was funny, but he is in the spotlight. At least a democrat is bing criticized for something he said. If Bush had said this, calls for impeachment!

  • Qat

    Wow, that’s horrible :|

  • About it

What is scaring me is that there have been rumors that our Pres. can’t function as well without a teleprompter. I don’t know if that is the case, but if so, then he doesn’t need to be in an unscripted situation. Then yes, he does need to stay at his desk in the White House, cuz this bailout thing is gettin’ ugly

  • *Treasure*

I saw this on the news last night. He made a foolish error. He apologized immediately. People make mistakes. I don’t think it was a mean spirited attack on the disabled. It was just insensitive.

  • Basquiat

    @Treasure

No one is saying that Obama had any cruel intent. But my issue is why is he even on Jay Leno. I didn’t vote for a celebrity president; I voted for a man I thought and I still think is competent to deal with the pressing issues going on today. I don’t care about his special olympics joke or his NCAA picks. I just want to have a job tomorrow and pay my bills…

  • karen

He should have just said, I bowl like a retard.

  • http://www.kukluxklan.com Tadpole P. Jenkins

He is destroying our nation. The man has been overhyped and the true him is coming out fast.

  • Honit Sinti

Well, Obama is proving to be well rounded. That includes coming ’round to the stupid square sometimes. Of course, Michelle already knows this. Now we are finding out. However, I still think he is the man!

  • Da Kid

Obama wack son! If I was old enuff I would not of voted for him.

  • karen

@Jenkins your dumbass is our nation. obama is one man. we were on our way to the shitter before he took office.

  • Hardy Boy

Come on Prez, don’t go all George Bush on us and start saying stupid ish!

  • Da Kid

Homeboy shoulda told Obama he bowl life a half breed

  • About it

Okay Da Kid, you startin’ it off LOL!!

  • http://mockrockstar.ning.com Mock Rock Star

Obama is still the man and I love how Tim Maloney didn’t condemn him…I could learn a thing or two from him…I’m a fan now!!!

  • Bitches Please

    @ Basquiat

Im going to say the same thing I said in the other post. The Presidents intent of going on Jay Leno was to try to reach people that may not follow politics from day to day. He is trying hard to push his agenda and budget and wants people to hear strait from his mouth what he plans on doing rather then hearing all this propaganda that is going on. Which is why the President spent 3/4 of his time talking about serious issues and only a few minutes joking with Jay. Like I said, people go on those shows to joke around as well. It showed a human side to him and made people feel comfortible.

He went on Leno for the same reason why he is going on 60 minutes, having a public address next week and is going to these town hall meetings. He is doing his job. What he is doing is no different then anyother President. Kennedy went on late night shows, so did Reagan and others, so lets give it a rest. He was on ESPN with his basketball picks, because people know how much he loves the game and they wanted to know his picks.

What Obama said was innappropriate, but he was making fun of himself, so some of you need to stop coming in here acting like it was otherwise. Because he is the President it makes the comment get blown out of proportion, had a celebrity said that people wouldn’t care, they would have laughed like everyone in that audiance did. Hell, im glad homeboy is giving Obama some pointers, anyone that has seen that clip of the President bowling knows that he was telling the truth when he said he looks like special olympics.

This is water under the bridge, we got bigger fish to fry. People will complain for a few days until they find something else to complain about next week.

  • Patricia

Obama is going to continue to have this problem since he a naturally witty funny guy, always ready with a quip. Unfortunatley in politics, having any kind of personality can be detrimental, until one’s authenticity has been stomped out by humorless, vindictive politicians and pundits. I thought it was funny and it was not said with any cruel intent but I knew he was goign to catch it and so he has. He’s still on the learning curve. By year 2 of his presidency, he should be effectively turned into a scripted robot that no one enjoys listening to. Then everyone will complain about how boring he is.

  • Bitches Please

I swear ‘dubya’ is like obsessed with this. How many times are you going to post on this issue? Get a life, damn. lmao, smh

  • Macho-in-paris-france

Obama is doing too much for his image. The last thing everybody is waiting right now: Obama falls when he is geting out of Air Force one (why he always run??).

    @VA Made me..

LOL@ He’s doing a prettygood job!Hahahhaha,,,He’s done more in 30 days, than Bush did all yr.

    Pretty good job!

  • Tameka

He apologized. He didn’t mean to be mean. He is after all a human, a man, the President but not a saint or God.

  • http://www.myspace.com/tirayk TIRAY

    @Tameka

WhAT? What a nation of soft muthaf#cka’s

    It was a fu@kin joke…….squash it!

  • Bitches Please

@ ‘VA Made Me..Htown Pays Me’

    PREECH!!!!

  • Peaches

Obama set himself up. Dont defend his ‘mistakes’ thats his job. Of course this guy will not go “hard” on Obama because he is just too sweet for his own good. However, I am glad Obama apologized but it was not a “joke”. It wasn’t funny at all.

  • dayg715

in other words, it’s not that deep. try again, haters.

  • http://www.myspace.com/tirayk TIRAY

    @dayg715

    Exactly!

  • http://www.myspace.com/tirayk TIRAY

Hahahha..U guys focus on what he says as jokes. Good ! While he’s busy balancing the budget, and fixing the mess Bush gave you!

    Typical asshol3s!

  • About it

An innocent slip I agree, but I hope he isn’t working so hard at trying not to let his enemies not see him sweat.
Stuff like this adds up, and he is a brotha, so he ain’t gonna get but so much slack, unlike Bush.
I think all Presidents do not realize that peacetime or not, the Presidency is WAR not politics. Obama is at war and he can’t let his guard down. Biggest offender of forgetting that: Bill Clinton.

  • wwconfused

if ur score is 129, u are special. lets be real.

  • jen

shady Obama haters?? Hmm..Who’s the shady one here…..Mr. Barack “Hussein” Obama?

  • Hope

And it’s obvious that there are some trolls on here posting some anti-Obama messages. And yes Jen, you’re one of them.

  • RE RE

Yall azzholes please dont mess with PRESIDENT OBAMA he’s a black man and that’s how we do,we talk about people…

  • Bitches Please

    @ ‘okay’ aka ‘dubya’

Yeah, you’re not fooling anyone. Quit posting under different screennames just to try to get a point acrossed. What you love is hating on Obama all day and night. Again, get over yourself. You stuck out like a sore thumb in the other post because you were arguing over this issue with everyone that didn’t agree with you and posting 500 times. Again, shut up already.

While some of you are in here trying to make a mountain out of a mohill, you probably dont even know that part of Obamas stimulis plan has billions of dollars directed specifically towards the reconstruction of special education. So, while what he said was silly and some of you are upset about it, stop acting like the man doesn’t care about needy people and is just ‘so insensitive’. It was a mistake that im sure he will never make again. Some of you just want something to complain about, again get a life.

And lmao @ ‘wwconfused’, thats what im sayin’!!

  • chuck D

    @ Mellissa
Yo Melly Mel, I don’t know if u been hiding under a rock or what, but folks complained about Bush comments all the time! BTW, Obamas crew OK’d the bonuses to AIG and he is only checkin’ em now that they got caught.lol Heck, AIG lined O’s pockets too. Thank God I didnt vote for that Brotha!

  • kaiistar

  • Psuedo Baby-Hair

I guess we all missed the memo that stated we elected a human being and not The Messiah…..this man is going to say things everyone is not going to agree with….I still support him…but I work with special needs children and have gone bowling with them….it was like hurding cats….LOL I love them kids though! They are my babies….

  • DIAMONDCHEERS

I’m not looking forward to what people are going to say about this…
    ———————————————
    I kno, me either…

  • yep thats him

yall a bunch of sensitive mutha f*ckas. it was a joke! this man had SO MUCH more to say on jay leno and this is all you Obama haters could walk away with. i understand though because when you’ve been used to listening to a prior president for 8 yrs speaking like he has a 7th grade education it’s hard to follow someone who’s highly intelligent and on top of his shit. give it time you’ll get use to it. he said it, he apologized, now get over it.

  • opa-locka 305

people please, have any body ever look at a special olympic game,……..thank you, no comment.

  • Sticky-n-Sweet

We all make mistakes, and before you call me an “Obama stan”, I felt really bad for Bush when he had those shoes thrown at him…let’s move on, shall we?

  • Sydney™ (the real one)

Not on the subject of The Tonight Show interview, but related to the economy, John Ridley, a black blogger for The Huffington Post, huffingtonpost.com, wrote a commentary on the economy’s impact on black men. Some interesting stats are cited — excerpt below:

“The January 2009 numbers from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics is bleak. Nearly 12.6 per cent of all black Americans have lost their jobs since January 2008. Contrast that with 9.7 per cent of Hispanics and only 6.9 percent of white Americans.

Going inside the numbers, a survey by the Center for Labor Market Studies at Northeastern University in Boston finds that employment among black men alone has dropped by almost 8 percent since November of 2007. In fact, over the last decade the employment rate for black men ages 20-24 has collapsed from 68 percent to only 51 percent.

Just barely half of all young black men are working. Just. Barely. Half.”

  • Sydney™ (the real one)

More from The Huffington Post commentary:

“For black American women the picture is a bit brighter. An article in the Christian Science Monitor notes that 120 black-American women are employed for every 100 black-American men. “The current size of the overall gap in employment between black women and black men is historically unprecedented, and black Americans are the only group for whom the gender employment gap is in favor of women.” One reason for this disparity is that the college attendance rate for black women is about double that of black men. Consequently, black women have seen no net job losses when compared to black men.”

People that dont approve of our president are just waiting for moments like this to jump on him. I’m going to use this VERY quote the next time someone says something offensive and/or racist towards black people.

I want to see this same compassion towards racist white people the next time they slip up and say something suspect.

some of you guys are straight up hypocrites. because most black people are not offended, then it makes the comment somehow less or even non offensive?

The logic here is mind boggling.

  • kissy

gimme a damn break thats probably the best thing to happen to the special needs foundation. obama can do what the hell he wants, someone needs to ask sarah dumbass palin why she keep vetoing the bill to help disable pplz .lol this also reminds of the lipstick on a pig fake outrage

HE NEEDS TO SLOW DOWN, i think he has been a little too concerned about public opinion and seem to be pushing it a little. he should chill , and continue to work hard on the economy…,and think twice b4 speaking ; something that all of us should do anyway because we all mess up sometimes ,though none of us has effed as much as george w.

  • Good Intentions

Funny how there are so few comments on this post!Could it be that we are embarrassed that Obama is finally falling from his “messiah” image? We, black people, are some of the biggest hypocrites!
