as a dark skinned lady i wanna say that Usher’s ex DON’T hate he is fugly now is chatting alot of crap.

not every dark skinned person feels they lack confidence and aren’t beautiful i don’t at all. maybe that is an american thing where blacks turn amongst themselves but i am happy with my beautiful skin that needs no foundation and the way i look and i dress accordingly too. as beauty comes in all colours despite what u may have been brainwashed with.

i personally know some light skinned girls that do have confidence issues maybe to do with their looks, or skin etc i don’t know so don’t tar self esteem issues with just dark girls as everyone and anyone can suffer from it.

i know i hae self esteem issues because i know i will not be considered mainstream attractive because of my dark skin color. i knw its bad and i wish i didnt have to feel this way, but the world keeps reminding me that i do, from the multiple black men i see who are paired up with light skinned women, to hearing mens comments about women of different shades and seeing how in ALL cases the ‘dimes’ are always the ones who dont look like me.

luckily i hae intelligence which has allowed me to progress to a ery high level of education, hae got my masters degree, without that i would be nothing, which is a sad but true fact.

All these light skinned dimes you talk about would still be dimes even with dark skin because they have a nice face. I think Estelle would be more appealing if she wore the traditional attire of her true culture, since both of her parents are from Africa. She does not fit into the western ideal of beauty and she should play up her assets rather than trying to fit in. Thanks we are on the same page. I think its interesting that this girl, that Usher doesn’t value, still had enough self-esteem to pursue her dreams. That somehow this woman still has so much talent and drive that she produced one of the breakout hits of last year. She is a major recording artist and her album is slamming but yet Usher wants to reduce her to just another unkempt ghetto girl. I don’t think Estelle lets stereotypes keep her down, I think Usher has let stereotypes keep her own intellect down.

Here is a history lesson for you. East Africa is where the earliest human remains have been found. These are where the first humans evolved. East Africans dont have European features. They have been looking the way that they look for thousands of years even before there were European people.
If anything European women are trying to look like them.

Alex Wek doesnt have “African features.” She doesnt look like she comes from the Masai in Kenya and she doesnt look like she comes from South Africa, she doesnt look Taureg, she doesnt look Zulu she doesnt look Fulani. She is from a rather small tribe in Southern Sudan- She looks Dinka. Please dont talk about African features. I dont think you have enough expirience with African people to know what they look like.

There is no such thing as black culture in Africa. There are hundreds of cultures on the continent and they are all black. Only blacks in Americans talk about black culture because they think their expirences in the disapora dominate. I am black but I dont have the same culture as some black person in brazil.

Europe have extenstive cultural influences in Africa. Most of the law in Africa is english common law and lots of the schools are missionary.

The first humans were Khoisan people from southern Africa.

As an aside, it has been my expirience that when a black woman starts talking about European ideals of beauty she is trying to explain away her inability to attract.
