Two Teens Arrested In Beating Of White Driver

Another act of violence in dirty Detroit.

According to WXYZ:

Detroit Police confirm to 7 Action News they have arrested two people in the beating of Steve Utash, the driver beaten by a group of people after stopping to help a boy he hit.

Police say a 16-year-old boy and 17-year-old boy were taken into custody this morning at their homes. We are told they are not family members of the boy who was hit.

According to Detroit Police Sgt. Michael Woody, the community helped with the arrests and he credits the neighborhood police officers program. Woody says officers hit the street, stepped up and made key relationships.

The men live in the neighborhood where the attack happened, and information has been sent to the prosecutor’s office.

Police still believe 10-12 people were involved in the attack, so they are not done yet.

It’s unfortunate the men who savagely beat him jumped the gun and now his family has to deal with this horrific situation.
