@sexiichar is correct. By industry standards, the only one who would be deemed as successful is Danielle, b/c she has “extended” contracts with Covergirl, Akademics etc. That means more than one season (e.g. fall/spring).

Models also want to book more than one show a season. NO ONE and I mean NONE of ANTM’s finalist or winners have booked more than one show per season. Print campaigns do no pay as much as it seems. Yes, we saw all the models in the NYLON spread, but that was pennies.

Real models want the runway. Look at Liya Kibede. She made 50K a week during fashion week alone, and that was before she became the face of Estee Lauder.

So by industry standards, they are not successful models.

Saleisha shouldn’t have won this competition because she has been modeling since she was like 16. Me and alot of my friends went to the same high school as her. And she wasn’t the nicest person to be around or the prettiest. She was very conceited and always talked about modeling. We never believed her until we saw her in some fashion show because she look awkward. She also has already been on some television shows and LA fashion shows WAY before this show came on. HUMMMM one of them is THE TYRA BANKS SHOW!She knew tyra before from going to her T-Zone camp. For her to have all that experience and THEN come on top model and be mediocre she does not deserve to win neither should she be considered in the competition. If her TOP MODEL portfolio is the best she can do she won’t make it very far.

Saleisha talks some what too much but give the girl some credit and stop hatin on her. Yeah there were some much more pretty females on there other than her but she knows how to take photos and stand out with her personality. Regardless of what you people think about her she WON the competition but relax all of the Top Models never really make it that far in there career only for about one month or so ha.

Saliesha is the worst winner in ANTM history.

She shouldn’t have been on the show to begin with, she broke the eligibilty requirements.

Tyra said Jenah had a porfolio that rivals some of todays top models and this Dora the Explorer, Disney Channel looking girl wins.

The show is a complete joke.

…give me a break, there have been many amateur models, photographers, and designers that have tried out for ANTM.

And, one reason why you may have seen Saleisha, on the Tyra Banks show, is because this show was taped in the SPRING. Which means she has been the official ANTM for months.

I am so happy for Saleisha. She deserves it.

Salisha sucks. She is a black white girl. Chantal killed her. The only reason Salisha won is because Chantal tripped the stilts guy…

Chantal also didn’t win because she walks like she has a stick up her butt on the run way. Too stiff. Impersonal. Lacks luster.

But I liked Chantal, I would have been happy with either or. But, I still say…Heather was my fav.

I don’t think she should have won. There is absolutely nothing Top Model about her. Her walk is pretty much like any other model with a so-called fierce walk. Her eyes are to far apart and she need a nose job. She won because she’s fake as hell just like Tyra. Even though Chantal didn’t win, she’ll go further Saleisha.

i’m happy saliesha won…but she wasn’t my fave on the show. i really liked heather and thought that her pics were bad as hell…but heather ass had issues. once heather left, i was really rootin for bianca. of course they booted her ass 2. i didn’t quite get the 2 white chicks in the final 3. i thought that they were the same person 4 a while. they looked 2 much alike. once again, happy saliesha took it.

I wanted Chantal to win! Because she didn’t have any experience..Selisha did!

Why can’t we be happy for our own race. Why do we always have have to put a person down? Seliesha won hands down, because let face it. She was best choice to represnet Covergirl and Seventeen magazine. She stayed positive throughout the whole competion. She, like Eva, YayYay and Danielle are just starting out. I’ve seen them in more print ads. Just because you don’t see them in the magazines that you read does not mean that these ladies are being booked.Tyra and Namoai had to work hard to get start status. Just like these ladies will have to. And another thing, just because Saleisha participated in Tyra’s TZone camp did not guarantee her the win. Covergirl and Seventeen had a say in who they wanted to represent them. Elite Modeling contract was just a perk.

So give me a freaking break on the negativities. Yeah for you Saleisha….this black woman has your back.

First thing when I saw Saliesha made it to the final however much I knew it was all this T-zone camp, when I heard Tyra comment, I know Saliesha really wants this or really wants to be here, I knew it was that T -zone camp thing. So when Saliesha was called over Jenah I knew she was going to win.

You know what it has nothing to do with race, but simply Saliesha was not the best person to win, Ive always backed the black girl Bree,Dani that other one with the square jaw, that gained all the weight in SA but Saliesha was so ordinary. Did anyone notice the dead giveaway when the Cover Girl commercial that the girls did before Jenah was eliminated that they premiered that Saleisha was the girl RIGHT UNDER the Cover Girl Logo at the end? That pretty much secured it for me.

I liked her and all, but I knew it when that commercial aired.

Jenah had amazing pics, even the judges said she had one of the best portfolios ever, yet they kick her off. Whatever.

I don’t know if anyone explained the “paper bag test” as I didn’t read all the post.

However, as a you lad I was told when high society “Negroes” gave a dance they had a brown paper bag at the door. One would stick their hand in the bag and if they were darker than the bag they couldn’t get in the dance.

They also said back then that drinking coffee would make you dark. Go figure.

There are so many models out there you wouldn’t know if you’ve seen the ANTM chicks or not…they have their contracts and making their money here and there. Leave those girls alone haters!

Ya know… I’ve read the claims that she shouldn’t have won because of prior experience. But remember… Jaslene had could be considered “experienced” because she was a contestant in one of the earlier cycles.

One is not a model overnight, it takes time. Do you think any of the models out there now had huge contracts or exposure right off the bat. Give the girls a break.

To those who say the girls are not top models, what you named were a bunch of Victoria Secret Angels with the exception of Kate Moss. Eva has booked more than one runway show per year, so has Dani. As far as the industry, you can make far more money doing print so who cares about the runway. Tyra’s bank got bigger as a print model. The bottom line is the girl’s are living their dreams and they look good doing it. Too many people try to come off as analyst these days. I’m glad Saleisha won. I would have been happy with Jenah, but her mouth got her in trouble. As for Bianca, she killed her hair before she got there, it had to go. Hopefully her disposition will get better too because she is fierce. Heather is beautiful too. If you listened to Tyra when Heather & Jenah left, she told them in so many words that this was not the end for them. Roll the tape back and watch the end. Enjoy the show and stop being so critical, you know who you are so I won’t say names.

You can make a lot of money immediately by doing runways but the jackpot would be getting a contract with a well known company(ies) for print ads or commercials etc.

I was disappointed in this season, I was sick of Tyra acting silly in front of the camera. I really thought Bianca was stunning and looked better with long hair. I really liked Heather, she’s gorgeous, I felt bad for her because my sister is mentally disabled and Heather really tried. Saleisha did have a good walk but if I saw her in a room, I would just think she’s tall with a bad haircut. I would have been happy with either Jenna or Chantal, I’m not just going to support the black girl~especially if she’s only ok

I don’t know if people remember this but Saleisha said in the beginning of the show that she had previous modeling experience. Tyra also made mention of her attending t-zone camp at the audition. I can’t believe everybody is making a big deal out of it. Wait, yeah i can… this is all b/c the other girl didn’t win.

Just view this show as a way to get your name out there for possible jobs.

At least this show isn’t a witch hunt like some of the others that just go out of the way to get rid or make look bad the black person.

I think Tyra jacks up the pretty black girls on purpose. Eva looked way better when she first came on the show. They also jacked up Jade (the crazy one from NY) and Jada (I think that was her name… the one who wouldn’t stop crying over her hair and saying she was the prettiest girl in her school).

On another note… the WORST winner of ANTM had to be Yoanna. On that season, April and Mercedes were on point.

Maybe she got picked on as a child by dark-skinned chicks..look at Naomi Campbell, she’s dark-skinned and she admitted that she was afraid of her when she first started out in modeling…I wonder…

No wonder Saleisha acted like a know-it-all. She’s a damn veteran model. As for Tyra hating on dark-skinned women: I don’t think so. Personally, I think Tyra hates on women who are actually attractive. With the exception of Eva the Diva, none of those “Top Model” winners are cute to me. Btw, I saw Eva in person and she’s brown-skinned and beautiful.

I am a little concerned at all the comments that are being made in regards to the scandal- the rules were broken completely. Although things will never be “fair” standards were set up and should be followed (things you learn in kindergarten). If it was no problem to break those rules, then both Tyra and Saleisha would have been more clear and open about their relationship and the latter’s previous experience. Funny that in this society the rules are overlooked on a case-by-case basis. What if a white host helped a white girl win over her competitors? I guarantee that alot more notice would be paid to the situation and y’all would be up in arms.
