Their graphics would get pics from a certain lingerie giant where they had to photoshop all of them so-called ‘supermodels’ and hide scars, cellulite, etc. before printing the catalogs..

Further more, the census bureau does not have access to other government agency information such as the IRS so that they can fully validate their information. They gather by willing participants who could very well lie on their survey sheets. Do trust, I’ve seen it, heard about it from others, and experienced it first hand. So, with that being said, the Census Bureau is a very poor assessment of what is really going on in this country. Any further probing into people’s personal lives would be considered communism so they have to go with what they get. With that, you can take what you want from so-called trusted statistics….

Although a lot of you don’t like the statistics Kigali is talking about, they are unfortunately true. I was a sociology major in college and spent half a semester studying racial aspects of sociology, and it is true that black women are the least likely group to get married in America. Some of you on this site are married or have lots of girlfriends who are married, but sadly you don’t represent the majority. Every time you apply for a marriage license or have a baby, that info is recorded by the census bureau, that is how they come up with the statistics about black kids being born out of wedlock etc. As far as the obesity thing all you have to do is visit Houston or any city in the deep south to see that most black women down there are dangerously overweight.

The marriage rate for black women between the ages of 25-44 doesnt break above 50%. Thats problematic on a social level. So if it isnt 70% of black females who arent married it is close to 60%. Big deal its still an abysmal number.

So you can be a pendant all you like but 60% of black mothers not being married is bad for children and bad for the future of marriage in the black community. Marriages, successful marriages have a way of perpetuating themselves. If my parents were married, Im more likely to get married. If my parents divorced, I’m more likely to get divorced. If my parents never married, I am more likely not to get married. You see?

My point is that if I chose to indicate that I was not married (when I am) on the form that the damn bureau sent me than I could very well do that and send it back and they would take it as gospel truth. I’m not speaking on registered marriage licenses and all that stuff, I’m talking about this data that they are sending to people’s homes and trusting them to fill out accurately. There is no judge or lawyer with a promissory note in front of me ensuring that I’m not lying under oath. I could tell them that I’m an asian woman with three kids and a disabled aunt living upstairs if I wanted to. I could make up names and information…yada yada yada. It’s rather simple. And, to make matters even worse, after I filled out this form, I’ve been asking all my friends and family if they had to do this and only 1 of them said yes. That’s 1 out of about at least 50 other people…you do the math. Sample sets mean nothing to me.
