Tony Taylor, the top informant in the Michael Vick case, was dealt a serious blow when judges sentenced him to two months in prison. Prosecutors wanted to allow him to walk for his role in exposing Michael Vick’s dogfighting ring:
U.S. District Judge Henry E. Hudson disagreed, saying it wouldn’t be right to let Tony Taylor walk after sentencing Vick to 23 months in prison and two other co-defendants to 18 and 21 months. “You were as much an abuser of animals as any other defendant in this case,” Hudson told Taylor on Friday before sentencing him to two months in prison.
Prosecutor Michael Gill had recommended Taylor only serve probation.
Hudson agreed Taylor deserved a break. However, he said the “gross disparity” suggested by Gill was inappropriate for a person who helped develop and run the dogfighting operation and admitted killing two dogs, one by gunshot and one by electrocution.
When the government is trying to prove a point, no one is shown any mercy.

What was he thinking? They threw the book at everybody. All made examples. What this means for future “cooperation” we’ll see.

Vick was wrong but jail time is silly. I was reading something online yesterday and in some state there are animals rights people fighting to make it mandatory to keep your dogs inside. they are fighting saying it is cruel to keep dogs chain up or even living outside. I for one will never let a dog live inside because that is just nasty. I have a friend with dogs and he get mad that i wil not eat or drink at his house, i told him why, but this dude will let his dog lick his plate after he is finish eating

There are some ignorant comments on here. I live in Richmond, VA, He had like 6 or 7 dogs, treadmills to work the dogs out, and log books of where he was fighting the dogs. These are facts, but since you guys on here only get what the mainstream media feeds you your facts are wrong in this case. Vick and his co-defendents were given “light” sentences compared to this other gentlemen. The reason the media is unaware of this is because Mr. Mitchell has been incarcerated for about six months and they choose not to transport him back and forth to the courthouse in Richmond due to cost.

I have been arond Vick as we make ATL our home in the off season and he should’ve never been the face of the NFL or a role model for your kids.Unless you want your kids to grow up and be pot heads,have numerous baby mama’s,std’s,& be on the worst dressed list.Bottom line is he brought this on himself and its not a white/black issue. I’m multi-racial and I’m tired of black people always using that as an excuse.Vick has done nothing positive for the black community outside of attendig a few little league games.

Another man, Stacey Mitchell, was sentenced here in Richmond over the summer to four and a half years in prison for dogfighting. Do*****ents showed his best dog beat Vick’s best dog at a fight in Surry County and Vick paid Mr. Mitchell $10,000 in cash. The media does not know about alot of the suppressed evidence as Baby Hand has gathered from the streets. Bottom line is they were given light sentences in comparison to other recent cases in VA (dogfighting is big here) and you guys don’t understand this.
He should get two years as well.

what do he suppose to do. WHen this man starting playing football as a kid, he didnt have hope of become the next atlanta role model. If you want him to raise your kids thats you. See what happen to all them sick ***** white kids who wanted micheal jackson as they role model, they got molested. People need to quit complaining about role models because when i was growing up, my dad was the only role model i saw, and everybody else was just anti-role models, which taught me what not to do. Why didn’t they all get as much time as Vick? He killed two dogs, so where is his 23 MONTHS of punishment? I don’t care if he told the President about the operation, he is as guilty as Vick.
