A few years ago I cut my hair really short and had a pageant coming up. It was told “Why did I cut my hair because I knew the pageant was approaching and was I going to get a weave?”

Nope,the right PR person provides intense media training and makes sure that they can articulate key talking points and are able to answer tough questions. But whomever said that these young artists need good PR people is so on point. Good interviewing skills is learned and I think that way too many of them think it’s just a matter of sitting and answering questions without giving any real thought about what they’re saying, how they’re saying it and the implications or consequences or the info. they put out there.
