Chris Brown

Chris Brown will be in court today and is likely to either plead guilty or have his fate postponed yet again:

Singer Chris Brown will appear in court Monday as “intense” negotiations continue on a plea deal over his alleged beating of girlfriend Rihanna, a source told the Daily News.

“It’s expected to be resolved at some point soon. Rihanna wants it resolved as well,” the source said.

Brown, 19, is expected to either plead not guilty to two felony counts stemming from the violent incident or ask to have the arraignment postponed again, the source said.

The R&B star wants to avoid any jail time and doesn’t want to plead guilty to the felony criminal threats charge since it would be a “strike” on his record under California’s Three Strikes law, the source said.

That leaves the felony assault charge as the area of negotiation between defense lawyer Mark Geragos and prosecutors.

“The arraignment is coming up on Monday, that’s all I can tell you,” said district attorney spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons.

Brown was charged with punching, choking and biting his 21-year-old girlfriend in the predawn hours before the Grammy Awards on Feb. 8. He’s also accused of threatening to kill her.

Since then, Rihanna and Brown have reunited on both coasts with some sources saying the Barbados-born beauty is not inclined to testify for the prosecution.

“She has no interest in testifying,” a source told The News.

Plead guilty to the charges, or ride this thang on out; what’s your take on it, Bossip folk?

    Well, I’m not a lawyer…

But just plead guilty, accept your consequences, and never bite or punch women again.

Don’t plead guilty Chris. They should drop the criminal threats charge, how they going to prove that, there are no witnesses and no evidence other than her word. I doubt she thought he was really going to kill her anyway.

Plead not guilty to the assult charge and let them work the deal while they wait for the trial that most likely will never happen.

I would plead NOT GUILTY and counter sue.

They can’t prove the criminal threat charges since its Ri’s word. Anyway the person who called 911 went outside and saw them arguing in the streets so I doubt she took his threat seriously.
