As we alluded earlier this week, more information surrounding Shakir Stewart’s suicide has surfaced:

According to the Cobb medical examiner’s office, the autopsy report will take up to 12 weeks. Police are also withholding official details about the untimely death. Still, speculation amongst industry insiders is beginning to make its rounds, with some suggesting that the demise of the A&R star might be related to his involvement with the infamous Black Mafia Family.Stewart’s suicide was shocking in light of his recent promotion to Executive Vice President of A&R just this past summer – a position he called his “dream job.” He filled a vacuum left at Def Jam after the exit of rap star and former president of the label, Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter. Official statements from the Stewart family expressed their sadness and implied that something had changed about their loved one in the days before his death. “It is difficult to express or explain in words what led to the tragic occurrence on Saturday. Over the past several weeks, Shakir’s behavior was inconsistent with the man we all know and love,” a statement read. According to a music industry source, Stewart was completely engrossed by his work and never seemed happy. Though his salary and respect in the music business was generous, sources say that Stewart was always attracted to the fast life, and he was even known to borrow large amounts of money. “He enjoyed the hustle, the wheeling and dealing. He was always on the move, never sitting still…and always in touch with gangsta types,” said a source. No organized crime ties have been confirmed.

This story seemed strange, at best, to begin with. When friends start revealing personal information, there is normally some truth to it. We’ll be sure to keep you all informed as more details emerge.

Another Day, Another Lawsuit

According to that crooked ass “Jacob the Jeweler”, Wyclef owes him a small fortune:

Last month jeweler Jacob Arabov began federal prison sentence after being convicted of laundering millions of dollars for the Black Mafia Family. Now Arabov, known for providing bling to numerous Hip-Hop stars, has filed a lawsuit against rapper Wyclef Jean. The man and his company Jacob & Co. claim that the artist owes over $300,000 in oustanding bills.

The New York Daily News reports that a lawsuit was filed yesterday and Jacob & Co. accused Wyclef of purchasing $765,000 worth of watches and jewels between March of 2002 and January 2006, but still has a balance of $319,680.

The 43-year-old jeweler pled guilty to falsifying records and giving false statements in a federal case. He was sentences to 30 months behind bars.

It’s hard to believe anyone can spend over $700 gees on some freakin’ watches. But then again, we wouldn’t put anything past this corrupt jeweler and his shady record keeping.

The leaders of the Black Mafia Family, Terry Flenory, 37, and Demetrius Flenory (AKA Big Meech), 39 both pleaded guilty last week for operating a continuing criminal enterprise and conspiring to launder money. They could face up to 30 years in prison. The brothers agreed to turn over over $270 million in drug proceeds.

Hip-Hop Bling King Jacob The Jeweler Arrested (MTV.com)

MTV.com:

Hip-hop’s favorite iceman has found himself wearing the kind of bracelets that nobody likes: handcuffs.

Jacob Arabove, known to the music industry as Jacob the Jeweler, was arrested by DEA task force officers at his 57th Street store in New New York on Thursday (June 15). According to an affidavit from the U.S. attorney’s office in New York, an arrest warrant had been issued in Michigan’s Eastern District Court last month on money-laundering charges.

Arabove is one of 41 people named in a federal indictment released last month in Detroit that includes a litany of charges, such as drug trafficking, money laundering and conspiracy. Several members of the Black Mafia Family — including Demetrius “Meech” Flenory — were also named. That indictment accused Flenory and company of building a drug empire in Detroit and expanding it to other cites. BMF is known to hip-hop fans mostly for its independent record label, which has been putting out music, mostly in Atlanta, for the past few years…

Jhud Can’t Come to My Grammy Party

According to Ben Widdicombe at New York Daily News , Beyonce’s handlers (The Knowles Entertainment Mafia)didn’t want Jhud at a Grammy party hosted by People Magazine and Beyonce:

A source tells us Beyoncé’s handlers did not want Hudson’s name on the guest list for a party she threw with People magazine at Eleven in West Hollywood. “At a lot of events recently, it’s been all about Jennifer Hudson,” sniffs an insider. “Beyoncé is successful because she’s continually been out there. She doesn’t want to look like she’s slipping.”

You mean to tell me there is such thing as fake smiles and jealousy in the entertainment industry? You don’t say…….. Not that Holy and righteous Knowles family, they would never hate on anyone. SMH.

Jhud recently became the first Black singer to grace the cover of Vogue. Halle Berry and Oprah Winfrey have also made the Vogue cover. On the second pic (right), she looks like a style icon.
