Following the alleged attack by Tony Yayo on Jimmy Henchmen’s 14 year-old son, Russell Simmons and Al Sharpton are planning a march to protest Yayo’s cowardly actions. Yeah, we can talk about Yayo punking lil kids, but Old Man Russell, what about all the lobbying you’re doing to clean up the dirty image of the diamond industry in Africa? When can we get a march to protest that? Oh yeah, someone may want to tell Russell marches are played out like the peace-sign and counterfeit leaders . SMH.

Today’s LA Times talking about Barack Obama’s opposition to this moronic Iraq war:

Obama wasn’t in the Senate in 2002. But he made his views crystal clear in a speech on the same day that Clinton and 28 other Senate Democrats voted to authorize the use of force against Iraq: “I don’t oppose war in all circumstances…. What I do oppose is a dumb war…. A rash war. A war based not on reason but on passion, not on principle but on politics.”

Chris Rock was asked by Life Magazine if the country is ready for an African American president:

It’s ready for a retarded president, why wouldn’t it be ready for an African American president?

…I like Al Gore, actually. (A) He’s more qualified than everyone that’s running on the Democratic side. (B) If he won or didn’t win, he has an agenda to help people and make this a better world. . . . Maybe Barack will win, but I probably won’t see a black president. NPR Host Steve Inskeep recently asked Barack Obama “Will you need to dominate (the black) vote in order to win?

Obama: “I will be speaking to themes that are important to that community, but I don’t expect to get monolithic African American vote… I think we have some strong candidates in the field and it would be presumptuous of me to assume that people would vote for me simply because of my race.”

Recent polls by CNN suggest:

“Whites are more likely than blacks to say America is ready for a black president, which may be part of why much of the African-American community is cool to the presidential candidacy of Sen. Barack Obama.”

Barack Obama was spotted this week rounding up support in Cali. Hollyweird moguls including Dreamworks co-founder David Geffen have dissed Hillary Clinton in favor of Barack Obama who some are calling the “Black JFK”. Others in Hollyweird including George Clooney, Eddie Murphy, Jennifer Anniston, Ben Stiller, Morgan Freeman, and Barbara Streisand have started forking over money and supporting Obama.

I don’t know if Obama has a chance but it’s probably time to beef-up security.
