Mike Vick, the 4.2 in the 40 yard dash QB, is coming back to the NFL…hopefully:

Imprisoned NFL quarterback Michael Vick expects to return to pro football, according to his bankruptcy attorneys who laid out a plan to pay creditors based in part on his anticipated earnings.”The Debtor has every reason to believe that upon his release, he will be reinstated into the NFL, resume his career and be able to earn a substantial living,” Vick’s attorneys wrote in a disclosure statement filed before a hearing Thursday in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Norfolk. The former Atlanta Falcons star is serving a 23-month sentence in a federal penitentiary for bankrolling a dogfighting ring in rural Virginia and is scheduled to be released on July 20. Once the NFL’s highest-paid player, Vick has assets of $16 million and liabilities of $20.4 million, according to the court filing in which attorneys wrote in extraordinary detail about Vick’s dizzying financial mess — listing a fleet of vehicles, properties, businesses and the extended family he supported. A Vick attorney said a committee representing all his debtors has proposed a plan to pay off his debt.  “The committee attorney acknowledged that there’s been a lot of progress, so we’re hopeful,” Peter R. Ginsberg told The Associated Press. Vick still faces two state felony counts — dogfighting and animal cruelty. They carry maximum prison terms of 10 years, but under a plea deal, Vick would serve a suspended sentence and a year of probation. He is scheduled to appear in Surry County Circuit Court on Nov. 25. While Vick still has a contract with the Falcons, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell would have the final say on his return, which he is counting on after he is released. “That’s the hope,” Campsen said in an interview.  Ginsberg said if the sides can’t agree in December, another hearing will be held in January. Vick was ordered to attend.

Vick has most certainly paid the ultimate price for what he did: he’s lost more than he even had to give, which is a lot more than others who have made mistakes.

Is it time to allow Michael Vick the opportunity to collect the scattered pieces of his existence and start making a new life for himself?

According to the Republicans, there is a reason to give Valerie Jarrett, who was just named his Senior White House Advisor, the side eye:

Valerie Jarrett served as a board member for several organizations that provided funding and support for Chicago housing projects operated by real estate developers and Obama financial backers Rezko and Allison Davis. (Davis is also Obama’s former boss.) Jarrett was a member of the Board of Directors for the Woodlawn Preservation and Investment Corporation along with several Davis and Rezko associates, as well as the Fund for Community Redevelopment and Revitalization, an organization that worked with Rezko and Davis. According to press reports, housing projects operated by Davis and Rezko have been substandard and beset with code violations. The Chicago Sun Times reported that one Rezko-managed housing project was “riddled with problems — including squalid living conditions…lack of heat, squatters and drug dealers.”

These Republicans can get real funky when they don’t get their way, and we can be sure this isn’t the last attempt to drag skeletons out of the closet. And in case you may have been wondering, the Rezko character is locked up in the Fed Pen at the moment for the crimes mentioned in the article.

It looks like acting is in the blood for the Smith Family, and Will’s little man, Jaden, will be the next Karate Kid:

BCK reported last year in December that actor Will Smith’s son Jaden would be starring in a new version of the 1984 film “The Karate Kid”. More details are being released to further confirm 10-year-old Jaden’s role as the Karate Kid. Variety reports that the film will be produced by Jerry Weintraub (who launched the original franchise) and Overbrook Entertainment’s James Lassiter, Will Smith and Ken Stovitz. The film will be shot next year in Beijing and other cities and will center around the original plot of a bullied youth who uses Karate to stand up for himself.

Jaden’s film credits include ‘The Day the Earth Stood Still’(in post-production) and ‘The Pursuit of Happyness.” The original Karate Kid featured actor Ralph Macchio

We always love to see a beautiful black family pass the success down and start a tradition. However, they must be careful because it is not uncommon for Hollyweird children to turn out, well…weird.

Rapper T.I. again succeeded himself at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart Thursday, as “Live Your Life” featuring Rihanna moved up one notch to trade places with “Whatever You Like.” A month ago, “Life” replaced “Like,” making T.I. the ninth artist in the rock era to do this.

Even though we are in a recession, Rocawear, made out like a fat rat this quarter:

In the midst of an economic turmoil, fashion lovers are still making their way into the stores to purchase some fly gear. Hip-Hop apparel brand Rocawear has earned over $18.3 million dollars for the third quarter of 2008. The clothing line helped its parent company Iconix Brand Group post a better-than-expected quarterly profit, despite a sluggish economy and a tough U.S. retailing market. Iconix bought Rocawear from Jay-Z in 2007 for $204 million dollars. According to Iconix CEO Neil Cole, Jay-Z’s direct involvement with Rocawear helped boost the company’s earnings, as did growing sales from the company’s London Fog brand of clothing. Cole says, the two brands were the “two biggest standouts in the quarter.”

Camel has been hustling for a while and getting rid of Dame was probably the best move he has made in the last 10 yrs. Him and Bey have a hustle going that can not be knocked.

Your boy Lewis Hamilton became the youngest Formula 1 race car driver ever to win the world championship today:

BRITAIN’S Lewis Hamilton became the world’s youngest Formula One champion when he finished fifth in a dramatic Brazilian Grand Prix today.

Needing only a top-five finish to take the title, Hamilton, 23, clinched it only on the final lap of 71 when German Timo Glock lost 18 seconds in his Toyota and slipped behind him. Until then, the title looked to be going to hometown hero Felipe Massa, who won the race. As well as being the youngest champion, Hamilton also became the first black Formula One title holder on a stirring afternoon in front of an impassioned 100,000 crowd at the Interlagos circuit.

“It’s amazing, I can’t get my breath back,” Hamilton said before his father, Anthony, ushered him away. Hamilton senior had earlier told television: “What can I say. I can’t say any more. I really can’t find any words. “It’s absolutely great and that’s a shame that the crowd are doing this (booing). They should be sportsmen. We have the championship and let’s look forward to the next one.”

We think far too many of our people are “drunk on racism”. There is a whole lot of sh*t you can do without some white “boogeyman” trying to stop your lazy a*s. Lewis not only has the trophy, he gets to work Nicole’s Pussycat and jaws tonight.

According to a Livesteez, Diddy has just acquired the popular ENYCE Clothing Brand:

Word on the street is that Sean “Diddy” Combs has conquered yet another piece of the fashion real estate to add to his ever-growing empire. The music mogul has purchased the popular urban clothing line ENYCE from Liz Claiborne Inc, according to reports. “Enyce is a brand that I have always admired, and they have been a very important player in the young men’s sportswear arena for over a decade. I am really excited to bring it into our portfolio of brands that already includes Sean John and Zac Posen,” Diddy said in a release. “Given our track record of success in marketing products such as Ciroc Vodka, Unforgivable by Sean John, and all of our television titles, I look forward to adding our expertise to an already hot fashion line. Our long-term plan is to grow the Enyce brand through innovative marketing, expansion of the menswear and boy’s lines, and launching into new licensing categories.”

ENYCE has fallen off a bit and if there is anyone who can resurrect this clothing line, it’s Diddy. This is going to be a big project so we sure hope Diddy has Nelly’s number programmed on speed dial.

The US Men’s Olympic Team won the Gold:

Order is restored in international basketball. The United States is back on top, but not by that much anymore. Culminating a three-year mission to end years of embarrassment, the U.S. Olympic team survived a huge challenge from Spain, winning 118-107 Sunday in the gold-medal game. After overwhelming everyone for seven games, the Americans led by only four points with under 2½ minutes to play. Then the U.S. proved it could handle a close game that seemed would never come in Beijing. Their prize: the first U.S. gold medal since the 2000 Olympics.

Glad that they finally got their swagger back. Here are pics of Family man Kobe Bryant spent time celebrating his birthday with his wife and daughters Nyla and Natalia during practice at the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics.

Usain Bolt is clowning over there in Beijing:

The dramatic ascendance of Usain Bolt as the world’s greatest sprinter continued Wednesday night at the Beijing Olympics as he left another group of elite runners far behind in setting a world record in the 200 meters and winning his second gold medal. Having obliterated the world record in the 100 on Saturday, he is the first man to win both the 100 and 200 at the same Olympics since Carl Lewis in 1984. Starting in Lane 5, Bolt took the lead in the first 50 meters and won in devastating fashion, pulling away from the field and winning by several meters in a time of 19.30. Michael Johnson had held the record of 19.32, set in 1996 at the Atlanta Games. Continue »

21 year-old sprinter Usain Bolt won Jamaica’s first ever Olympic Gold medal as well as breaking the World Record in the 100 meters:

Bolt won the 100 meters in a time, 9.69 seconds, that broke his 11-week-old world record of 9.72 and could have been much faster had he not turned the end of the race into Carnival. His rivals still couldn’t catch up. Richard Thompson of Trinidad and Tobago ran a personal-best 9.89 and was farther from first than any Olympic silver medalist since 1984. Walter Dix of the United States was third in a personal-best 9.91, and Churandy Martina was fourth in a Netherlands Antilles-record 9.93.

Dude is no joke. Real talk.
