For The Stans

Your girl Bey’s new album has a release date, and guest appearances:

While details have been largely kept under wraps, some information has emerged about Beyoncé’s forthcoming, still-untitled third solo LP, which is slated for release on November 18 on Music World Music/ Columbia. Justin Timberlake will appear on the LP, although further details on his involvement were not available at press time. Timberlake told reporters outside the show, “I’ll be in the studio this week with Beyoncé. Who knows what will come out of that?” Beyoncé co-wrote or co-produced all the material on the album, which the label says comprises “her most personal, reflective and revelatory collection to-date.” Songwriter/ producer Sean Garrett (Mary J. Blige, Usher, Fergie) revealed to MTV News on the VMA red carpet that he’s been Beyoncé’s album. “I got to get a big secret out: Beyoncé!” he said. “I just finished some incredible records with her. She’s probably going to be mad at me for telling you all — sorry, B!”

Here’s one of her tracks called “Stop Sign.” Stans, let us know what you think:

Who Cares About Talent??

Khia may very well drop the biggest debut of the year:

They say it’s not bragging if you can back it up. And while Khia says she and her man are ‘all about the cash’ on her hit “Be Your Lady,” she may as well be talking about the sales of her eagerly anticipated new album, Nasti Muzik.

After nearly a year of hype, endless recording, the inevitable Internet pre-release leak, Khia is on track to smash the charts next week when Nasti Muzik debuts. During a time when the beleaguered music industry does cartwheels anytime an album cracks the 300,000-sold barrier in its first week, Khia could end up selling more than a million copies when the dust settles next week, according to several sources.

And, by some accounts, the early leak of the album may have actually helped sales. Estimates from industry analysts put sales at between 1,050,000 and 1,150,000, which would make Nasti Muzik the biggest debut of the year, surpassing the massive numbers put up by the more mainstream Lil’ Wayne earlier this year with Tha Carter III, which moved 1,010,000 in its first week.

Apparently anything goes in the music biz these days. SMH.

Baduizms

The ecclectic neo-soul diva Erykah Badu performed live in Dublin, Ireland last night. We can always rely on Ms. Badu to bring forth that unique brand of originality. And for those of you who were left unawares, here’s a little Badu tid bit for your afternoon trivia gathering:

In additon to performing shows across the pond in Europe this summer, R&B star Erykah Badu will grace campaign ads for fragrancier Tom Ford’s new “White Patchouli” perfume. Several images of the “Honey”singer will appear in print ads throughout the summer/fall season including the September issue of US magazine. The first of the images, picture above features an elegant pose reminiscent of a 80s era Diana Ross.
